Expensive transmission repair

Required an expensive transmission repair just a few hundred miles past the 100,000 mile power train warranty. Unbelievable. Very frustrating. As a decades-long loyal RAM owner, I'll think twice about purchasing another one.

All critical components in good working condition, despite 155,000 miles. Truck was obviously well cared for.

Expensive Camshaft /Lifters failure and now ABS mo

I have a 2013 Ram 1500 Lonestar edition. Last May I had to spend over $5k to get the engine rebuilt due to same camshaft / lifter failure mentioned by a number of people. I found out that this is a very common issue with this truck. Then in November or so I started having issues with ABS light coming on. I had it checked by the dealership and was told my ABS module was failing but due to a lawsuit there is a manufacturer hold and the part can't be ordered. By February this year the instrument cluster started flickering and flashing off, all Guages dropping then coming back up at random while driving, constant dinging, etc. I took it into another dealership to get a diagnostic to see if there wasn't something else going on. Still told it was all caused by the failing ABS module that was still on hold (at that time estimated availability this summer). I checked back on the module again in June, nope pushed back to August estimated availability, checked back in August, nope now being told it's not expected to be available until at least October of 2025. Absolutely ridiculous! I'm looking to replace the truck now (despite still making payments) and ditch Ram all together.
