Used 1995 Plymouth Neon Sedan Consumer Reviews
pretty good
I leased & then bought my Neon. I haven't had any major problems with it. I have replaced the brakes once & both oxygen sensors were replaced within the past 18 months. I have had an oil leak for over a year (which the instant oil change guy told me he sees in most Neons). It is leaking less than 1/2 quart per month. Overall, I like the car but am ready for something new.
A model to be avoided
Having to replace two cars in one year, we opted for two Neons due to their excellent handling, comfort, and ergonmic interior. For the first 60,000 miles, these cars required nothing but normal maintenance. After that: the infamous head gasket leak (both), refrigerant leaks in the air conditioner (both), major paint peeling, radio failure, clutch cable breakage, starter motor failure, ignition system failure, turn signal lever would stick. Repairs are expensive and many never really fixed the problem (esp. head gasket, ignition, and A/C).
