This car is cheap, fun to drive, and, in my experience, very reliable. The only problem that I've had is that the radio burned up and damaged the AC controls at around 90k miles. Other than that, I've done nothing but normal maintenance. This car is great.

Excellent exterior, no paint chips after almost 8 years. Great gas mileage. the only problem I can complain about is some electrical work. The horn wasn't working when I bought it so I had it fixed. It needed a new clockspring-needless to say it's a $100 part, but it works perfectly fine now. I sometimes have problems with the left signal, it will only work when a press the signal lever down firmly-but it doesn't happen always. It's a fun car to drive with enough room for friends and belongings.

I've had this car for 7 years. Head gasket replaced under warranty at about 10k. AC failed at 56k. Besides that, however, NOTHING has failed. Just fill up the gas, change oil, and go! Unfortunately, now, at 100k, I noticed some leaks under the car. I've been told it's a bearing seal. Overall: great looking, pretty reliable car. Well, after saying "Hi!" (remember that?), it's time to say "Bye!" to this cute car.

I would never in a million years buy another Neon. The only thing that I found Neon about the car was the glowing sign above it that says P.O.S. Every mechanic I have talked to said that this is about as bad a car as you can get. I had to have the brakes (the whole thing. brakes, calipers, etc) because there is an apparent problem Chrysler had with the OEM brakes and they rust so much that the front calipers stop working. Now, after only 65,000 miles of regular driving, not racing, the whole transmission needs to be replaced. This car has been in the shop at least once a year for a $1k repair. Overall, this is the worse vehicle anyone could ever want.
