'til death do us part
The Toronado is truly one of the great ones from Oldsmobile. I've owned the car from a pup and it now has over 171,000 miles. The 3800 V6 is strong as can be and never has given any problems. This car was way ahead of its time and is still a pleasure to drive. It is one of the best cars I've owned.
1990 Toronado Brougham
I bought this car two years ago with 32K miles on it. It was owned by two elderly sisters and they upgraded to a convertible and traded the Toronado. It's been a great car, fun to drive, good gas mileage, extremely comfortable and good looking, and definitely unique. Maintenenance has been easy, the only problems have been related to age, not poor design. The only major things that were replaced were the electronic dash, tires, a few sensors on the motor and hood struts.
The Best Used Car On The Planet
This vehicle is flawless, I now see why Olds quit making them as this car would have put them out of business....
1990 Trofeo Rocks!
I bought the car with 104,000 miles and it now has 195,000. The only problem I ever had was that the a/c compressor froze and had to be replaced. The car still runs perfect and I will keep it but I just bought a 1992 Trofeo and 94,000 miles just so that I can get another of these great cars while they're still able to be found. If you can find one, buy it, 1992 was the last year.
Great Car
I have had a great experience with this car, i hardly have any problems with it, and i have 215,000 plus miles with it. I put a flowmaster in it and it sounds GREAT!
I love her
What can I say? She has over $150K and still screams. I can throw her into the curves and she just hugs the road. I love her and much as my dog. she's a bit tired and the level ride cut out butr there are plenty of used parts out there - but they aren't cheap. She's a classic beauty and is everything I could want in a car.
Outstanding vehicle
I have wanted one of these cars since the were first introduced in 1989-90. It is a car that people say, "what is that?" and i love it. Its touchscreen computer is awesome and it glides so smoothly down the highway. the only fault is that it was built 17 years ago and fuel economy is not that great in references to prices today. Nevertheless, it still looks good and the leather is not torn. You may own a TROFEO if you are a real American Car enthusiast as I am.
Toronado Power
I love the car, although it gives me horrible gas mileage. Love all the extra toys, and my passenger loves playing with the 15 way power passenger seat. Radio is awesome! I can hear the music from a block away!
2 Dr Trofeo Coupe
This was a car ahead of its time.
2021 still going!
I had a 1990 toronado that I lived for about 5 years until the frame rotted, I live in the northeast rust belt, had yo let it go. 11 years ago i noticed a trofeo sitting in a driveway and it had been sitting a long time. I left a noye asking if it was for sale and received an answer a year later that I could have it for the price of the transmission rebuild he had done on it 10 years before-$1000. Bought it, replaced headliner, fuel pump and all fluids, runs exvellent and people keep asking me who made it and what year it is! I replced the base model radio and heater controls with the VIC option from a car I found in the junkyard ( was lucky to find that!) and I'm still driving it today albeit only in summer on nive day.

Best Car
I own a 1991 oldsombile toronado. My grandfather bought the car new as a cruiser car in lower Michigan. Still no rust. The car stored in garage for 8 years. And runs like a champ. I have put 3 computers in te car because it would not shift correctly and the instrument panal was malfunctioning. I got the car from my dad with 90,000 miles and now it has 118,000. I have not ever got in the car and had it not start I say it is one of the most reliable cars you can own. Plus it looks super cool with chrome rims. The cost to fix this car is pricey because of the rarity but it is worth it.
It's Been A Great First Car
My grandfather had given me this car as a gift, before he passed away. I love it, partially because of the sentimental value attached to and also because it's a great car to drive. Got it with 48,000 miles and currently have 107,000. Great touch screen display, and I love all of the cool vehicle sensors. The only complaint I have is that my luck with weird vehicle malfunctions is not the best. I have had three major problems with this car, all rare and all expensive. I'll probably be selling it soon, and hopefully can find it a good home to someone who appreciates the car.
Best car ever!
Bought the car with 100,000 miles on it. Put on another 100,000 miles with only changing a power brake motor, a battery and both ball joints (this is besides the standard items like brakes, tires, tune ups, etc.). I installed a B&M shift kit for firmer shifting and K&N filter. Car is on the heavier side due to the touring chasis but feels very good on highway and while cornering at high speeds. Body had no rust even after 12 years in Canada and with winter driving. Still has its original paint. I refresh it once in a while with the same color wax. Rebuilt the engine and _all_ accessories on it at 200,000 miles. Trany is still original and working perfectly.
Revenge of the Tornado
I love my '91 Oldsmobile Toronado. This vehicle is in the raw when it comes to the capabilities of what can be done with doctoring one up and that's exactly what ive done. The interior design is pretty much the same, except for the old cloth head liner, I had it replaced with leather and had some silver tribal work embroidered into it as well as the front and rear seats. The carpets are black, trying to stay somewhat close to original in color. The steering wheel is an alloy that is made in the symbol of the iron cross from West Coast. the rims have been machined to match. the engine is in top shape and is extremely strong. The windows are as black as the car itself which has ghost flames.
my 90 toro
I cant seem to part with this car. Have had 3 new cars since the toro and none can compare with ride, comfort, and performance that hasn't gotten the least bit sluggish. I bought this used in '95 and since then replaced a starter, crank sensor, and electronic dash. Toros are notorious for electronic dash problems. I replaced mine myself for $150. Simple task.
first car
this was my first car and I believe it's the perfect first car. absolutely no rust which is incredible since the car has spent it's entire life in Iowa. bought it with 106,000 miles on it and it now sits at 126,000 on it. no problems at all. love the luxuries like the air suspension and the computer system. everyone loves to play with the joy-stick controlled power seats. car is amazing and it will be my little sisters first car too. would reccomend to anyone who wants a car that will never die on them.
Toro=muscle- nado=speak
Awesome car, I first experienced a Toronado as a pedestrian when I was 10 in 1968. I said I would have one some day and now I do. A Ford dealer had this slated for a demolition derby. The body was in good shape and it was undercoated. The K frame was coming apart and was repaired with u-bolts and high carbon steel, stronger now than OEM. Replaced the struts, windsheld, etc. Had it for a run on the highway, its getting 35 mpg on a 25 mile loop, at 55 mph. Just gets better with distance. Fast too 0-60 in about 4 secs. Cranberry color with silver trim, I painted the wheels/side trim in gloss gold and it's so sharp I gotta wear shades.
DONT SELL IT CHEAP A TORONADO LOVER WILL PAY ANYTHING TO HAVE ONE AGAIN OR GET ONE
I have a 91 toronado from north carolina with 126,000 miles on it which is nothing i have seen other GM cars with the same engine and tranny go literally a million miles + as taxis! you know they get beat and very little maintenance. it has the digital instrument panel which is awesome to look at and full of features that even 90% of owners dont even know are there its secret button pushing that gets em out. it has no rust at all! it rides and performs like a dream. the seats are perfect the kind you dont want to get out of once your planted. the style of the body is on a scale of 1 to 10 is definitly 20 it looks like a futuristic thunderbird from way back. rare car in high demand! i loveit
