Stouts Versa Review
Ok, lets start this off with...I love my Versa. Most of the reviews (like mine), are subjective at best. People do not like the look, or the "CVT" transmission making noise. Things like that. So lets get that out of the way. The look is great. I do not mind it looking and sitting as it does. It is easy to see out of with a larger back window, back door windows are large and easy to see out of. It does take some getting used to with the CVT. Wow, that took a lot of getting used to. It does have some engine noise that could be dampened. But alas, for a used car it is great. PROS: I absolutely love this car. It is my commuter car. My real-time gas mileage average (my math and driving style...not sporty) is 37.5 combined, with 42.9 freeway. I do not track my around town. Having said that...the Fuel tank could be a tad bigger. I drive 81.3 miles round trip between work and home a day. But I am averaging 350 miles a tank (I fill up before it tells me to, another wise I could get 375). The ride of the car is not bad. I love getting in and setting the cruise control at 75 and away I go. Every now and then I will hear the motor (over my talk radio), but not often. Little sucker does me good. I live in Utah and drive mountain passes and lots of hills. We drove from the SLC area to St. George (two mountain passes and plenty of hills to climb), we averaged 37.3 miles per gallon (that includes the around-town driving and canyon driving we did). So far I have not had it in the snow (I wish there were more reviews about it in snowy weather, I understand a lot of that is tires). In the rain, the car handles very well. Passing while driving on the interstate is not bad. You are not driving a sports car, but I feel it has plenty of getting up and it gets me around the slower traffic with relative ease. Back seat room...WOW! Nissan did it right! I go to lunch with a few people that are rather tall (I am a stout 5'6", two of the lunch bunch are well over 6' tall one, in fact, is 6'6). Their knees do not even come close to the seat back when I am driving. I pushed all the way back, and both still had plenty of room, no knees in my back. Also foot and headroom. FANTASTIC! We can fit three grown adults in the back seat, but it gets a tad slender. Stick to two. Trunk space...Sheesh, it is bigger than most if not every car in its class. Very spacious, we can put all of our bags (3 people) and still have room for a cooler. Very large. Radio and dash controls...They get the job done. Nothing fancy. CONS: I do not like the one armrest just for the driver (this car will only have just me in it for the most part, but we have done and will be taking it on road trips, it can get a tad uncomfy for my tiny little wife). Cup holders...this may be a good thing...can not fit a 44 ounce drink in them without dumping half of it out (this is a plus, as I have stopped drinking soda pop for the most part, so this is an upside). In-cabin storage, there could be a bit more..in the back doors maybe? Acceleration, off the line this car moves. It has to build up torque and RPM. I feel it could use a little bit more tuning here (but not terrible). No Telescoping steering wheel. I have short, thick arms and legs (My Military and work buddies call me Gimli or Stout...says something there). I have adapted to the "reach" to the steering wheel while I like to lean farther back. That would be a HUGE improvement. Bigger fuel tank (only a couple gallons). That is pretty much it. OVERALL: Fantastic car. I love Nissan's. Never had an issue with them, do not plan on having any either. The Fuel economy and overall comfort of this vehicle is a five-star rating. I gave it four stars for the issues I stated above. But again, I would buy this again, and recommend it to a friend or family members. You can't go wrong with this little Versa. NOTE: I would stay in the SV or better Trim package, the basic package I feel maybe a bit "Prehistoric". Enjoy. Update 5-10-17 I love this little car. I would buy it again. The CVT is tough to get used to and not really a quality transmission. It does ok but has some odd shift points (or...what ever they are called). The A/C is t real powerful. We have t hit the 100s test, but I predict it full last to keep up. But again, this little car is great. I love it. I have had it for 20k miles already. It works like a dream so far. Steering...it follows the rod like crazy (the concrete freeways). No this is not a tire issue. It has had two sets on of Micheline and Toyo's. Not to mention the Goodyear that came from the factory. Same spots every day. It really was ya to toss you around. Update: well, she is still going strong. 133,000 miles on her. The CVT is still going. Just service it every 40k miles and you will be fine. I have been running Toyo Celsius tires. They are all-weather snow and ice rated with a 60k mile warranty. I have driven this a few times to Omaha from Central Utah. It did ok. Again, it is not a sports car. It is great

Reliable as all get out
This car is reliable and great on gas. The only issue I had with this car was placement of cup holders. I had to drive to college 4 days a week, an hour there and a hour back. I only had to fill up every other day. It was unbelievable. With this being my first car from a dealership, I absolutely loved this car. From Tulsa, Oklahoma, this car got me safely to Oregon, Missouri, Texas, and several trips to Arizona. Unfortunately, while in on a trip to Texas, I hit a dear head on. The radiator was pushed back into the engine block. I was surprised that nothing was pushed against our legs. The airbags deployed properly and the seatbelts protected my husband and I. We walked away unharmed. No whiplash, just a small airbag burn on my arm and my shoulder bruised a little. My husband was in the passenger seat, he walked away with just a little soreness. With the car totaled, I would totally love to get another versa. I would completely trust my kids to drive this vehicle. I really don't have enough words to express how grateful I am to have a car so wonderful.

Have had my Versa S-Plus since Aug. 2015. Only minor inconvenience I've noted is: no keyhole lock on passenger side--would've made it easier to open the rear right-side door. Otherwise very pleased with it. I drive 68 miles round trip to work, and have 50,000 miles on it. No engine, trans, or electronic problems to date. (8/9/18).

smilingary
I get 41 mpg easy on highway at 70 mph. I also took a drive on a road with only 2 stops in 40 miles and no traffic I drove at 50 mph and got 54.7 mpg. I could not believe it myself but I double checked it. In the city it is hard to get 31 mpg. The car labors to get up to speed and looses gas mileage. I usually get about 29 mpg. If you want a fast car this is not the one. If you want gas millage this is a choice. Over all I am happy so far.

Week lil car
I own a 2015 Nissan Versa Sedan SV. It is an alright car with good gas mileage and the seats are very comfortable. The car feels fine when you're driving in the city. When you stop accelerating the car is pretty quiet. However there are some drawbacks. The interior is very basic and its all black plastic even though the exterior looks a lot better than the interior. The breaks feel very awkward. While the gas pedal is very light and sensitive the breaks feel hard and you really have to push on the breaks for the car to stop. It is also extremely light which actually isn't that good. Since the car is so light you can feel every bump on the road it feels like there's an earthquake when I hit a pot hole or go over a speed bump while going 5 miles per hour. This car really needs more power it's such a pain getting this car to move after stopping. The engine drones when I accelerate and the car really has a hard time going up the slightest hill. I hate driving the car on the freeway when its windy it gets really twitchy and feels unstable. If I had the chance to buy my first car again it wouldn't be a Versa.

Versatile Versa
When my daughter was about to start a two year radiology program I wanted her to have a 100% reliable set of wheels, which meant selling her 110k mile Chevy Aveo (NO major repairs) and buying her a new car. After reading reviews here on Edmunds, Kelley Blue Book & Consumer Reports, I gave her a choice between the Versa & Hyundai Accent. Daughter chose the Versa only because the Accent reminds her of the Elantra that my wife drives. So far the Versa is giving us exactly what we wanted; a very reliable vehicle that is also extremely economical. I'm very jealous that this Versa averages 42 miles per gallon with an approximate 50/50 mixture of city and highway driving. I am 6 feet tall and have no problem driving this car. I would however recommend that you use a thick gel seat cushion for rides of longer than 30 minutes. All in all this is a great small car for basic commute driving from point A to point B. Update 16May2016: Driven for 10 months. So far so good. Only one small mechanical issue and that was a bearing going out on the rear axle, otherwise this car has met all expectations.

You get what you pay for
Honestly I love this car for a number of reasons. working in a repair facility I knew what I wanted, a cheap car great on gas and that's honestly what I got. The seats are uncomfortable, after awhile it hurts my back and the material they use is super cheap but hey, I don't wanna [non-permissible content removed] about that. Anyway the only problem I had with my vehicle was a week after I got it my transmission(manual) went out on it and it took 2 months to replace. the Nissan Dealership I dealt with(South Colorado Springs Nissan) was horrible. I recall the service writer telling me that I needed to learn how to drive stick. I have been driving manual since I was 16 and am now 26. Overall I love the car and love the gas mileage. Seriously a good car for what you pay!

Bot This car only to burn miles
I purchased this car 11/12/2015 "it was an add car, a leader to bring you into the dealer. " I purchased the car for the add price $8990.00 plus tax and license. Total out the door was $10,035.00. I paid cash did not finance. The car was bot to put miles on. Rather than put miles on our nice cars we pass the Versa around like an old girl friend, everyone in the family uses it for trips and going into L.A. or San Diego. We use our nice cars when go somewhere nice or go out on the weekend. I don't know about the engine noise because I have not had it that long, but I don't care. The interior is nice and basically "OK". Drives a little sloppy but again "OK". Trunk is good size, car is roomy, standard with blue tooth, air and a radio with CD player. For a $10,000 car this is an excellent piece of junk to put miles on and comes with standard metallic paint. I love the car for what is, the family will put 30,000 miles on this car a year then we will get rid of it and buy another cheep driver. For what you pay and what you get it is an excellent value. Update I have owned the car about a year now we are at 28K miles and have had no trouble with the car we have changed the oil regularly and driven the crap out of it no maintenance costs other than oil change and tire rotation. the front seat is not real comfortable on long drives, but for a cheep" plane Jane" reliable driver to just to pack miles on, this is a great car. The car looks and runs good , we keep it clean and serviced. I will keep it for another one or two years and dump it at 50K to 75K depending how it performs next year then get another one just like it and do it again.5/2018 car still runs great car has 39K no service issues just standard maintenance. I expect tire and brake replacement around 50K then burn another 25K and off it around 75K. 12/2018 car still runs great have not put a dime in maintenance other than regular oil changes, however just bot tires at 45K. All in all it has been an affordable, reliable and cheep to drive car. The car is "Plane Jane" so you might want to have a nice car as a back up to go nice places. However if you want to burn miles cheaply this is the car. 12/2019 Car is still running fine, there has been no mechanical work done on the vehicle. The only maintenance has been regular oil changes and tires. Have not put as many miles as I thought I would just over 50,000. The kids moved out and they were the primary users of the car so miles drooped.

2015 Nissan Versa bad transmission
Shoppers beware. I walked into a local Nissan dealership to shop around because I have been getting pre approval letters for an automobile loan, the salesman at Nissan talked me into a 2015 Nissan Versa SV it has 22 miles on it, did not even have the car 24 hours and the transmission had to be completely replaced, yes it was covered under warranty but I have finance that car for almost $18,000 they were unwilling to work with me give me my old car back or give me another car with the transmission did not have to be replaced I'm very unsatisfied and I'm very nervous about this car breaking down again

Solid Little Cheap Champ!
This is a basic no frills car... it just goes on running with minimal maintenance. It is not sexy or cool. It is reliable, sufficiently comfortable, and it will get you to the party where the sexy and cool people are. 😁 I bought my 2015 Versa new in 2014 (fall) and I currently have 126,000 miles on it. The still car runs great despite being 6 years old with high miles. I have done all regular maintenance (oil, brakes, tires, fluids, plugs, wipers) and the only real failures were a fuel pump at 116,000 miles and an ignition key lock failure at 90,000 miles. Both were admittedly annoying at the time but...and this key...they were inexpensive repairs. The main thing to remember is... both the regular maintenance items and the repairs are really cheap in comparison to other cars (tires for example are $50 each vs. well over $120 for other cars....same us true for most parts). So if you'd rather spend your money on other stuff, buy this car.

Deathtrap of a car
Bought this car from Enterprise car sales, with about 30,000 miles on it. About 10,000 miles after I purchased the car, with normal driving, the transmission totally failed and needed to be replaced. This was covered under the manufactures warranty, so at least there’s that which makes almost getting stranded in the Mohave Desert somewhat less terrible. About 10,000 miles after that the left rear turn signal went out several times, each of which required a separate repair. About 10,000 miles after that, while driving at pretty much any speed more notably on the freeway, I would lose all ability to accelerate. After taking it to the dealership several times, they figured out that the onboard computer for some reason thought I had my foot on the brakes at random times and was cutting the acceleration, in advertently putting myself and other drivers at risk. About 12,000 miles later, the radiator fan failed, and due to lack of any indication from the car that there was any problem, the car overheated. Got the radiator fan fixed, but now almost immediately after that I am noticing weird jumpiness in the RPMs. Also if I roll both windows up at the same time while idling, The RPMs stutter...?! And different car is idling and I hit the AC button, the whole car jerks and the RPMs drop very low. This car behaves so strangely and poorly, I am nervous and feel unsafe anytime I am driving it. It feels at any moment the car will break down for the last time. I have owned this POS for only about a year and a half, and have taken pretty good care of it. But it seems determined to die. Pretty sure the transmissions going to go again in a month or so. So two transmission replacements while the car is still under 80k miles......wow Nissan. I will never ever buy another Nissan again. I hope that these words prevent another from making the same mistake I did.

Economy Vehicle
I have driven other cars on a daily basis, but this is the first car I have ever personally owned. The Versa is not for people who are heavy on the gas, trying to be king of the road. It is a simple, economical, moderately stylish sedan for people that need reliable transportation. It is ideal for low budgets, daily commuting, college students, etc. I've put about 1,300 miles on it so far and I haven't noticed any problems. The brakes were tighter than I'm typically used to, but that's about it. Overall, i'm pretty satisfied with the buy and would recommend as an economical transportation solution.
2015 Nissan Versa SL
SPECS – Bright Silver, 4D Sedan, 4 Cylinder 1.6-Liter Engine, Automatic CVT Transmission with Xtronic, Technology Package, Traction Control, Vehicle Dynamic Control, 4W ABS Brakes, Keyless Entry, Keyless Start, A/C, Power Windows, Power Locks, Cruise Control, Power Steering, Tilt Steering Wheel, AM/FM Stereo, MP3 (Single CD), SiriusXM Satellite Radio, Bluetooth Wireless, NissanConnect, Backup Camera, Dual and Side Airbags, Front and Rear Head Curtain Airbags, Integrated Body-colored Rear Spoiler, Alloy Wheels WHAT'S GOOD – When I purchased this car, I loved the fact that it came fully loaded with all the features (as listed above), and lots of space for backseat passengers. The alloy wheels add a higher degree of comfort in the ride compared to the base steel rims. In comparison to other cars in its class, the Nissan Versa SL seemed to offer a lot more amenities and features for a good price than many of its other competitors. The Xtronic CVT transmission is VERY good at maintaining both normal and highway speeds with a corresponding level of comfortable handling as well as a lower RPM rating; something that the manual transmission simply cannot provide as well as the Xtronic CVT transmission. I am of the opinion that that the Xtronic CVT transmission is perhaps this car's primary redeeming grace. It's also worth mentioning that the Versa's exterior design really doesn't look too bad either, especially in the front end; the rear end can be argued to be quite typical of cars in its class. AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT – The downside to this car is that it doesn't really seem to be more fuel efficient than most other redesigned vehicles in its class these days. My wife's 2015 Nissan Altima SV actually gets better gas mileage than my car, is a lot more nimble and fun to drive, as well as having an inherently higher degree of overall appeal, practicality, and safety. Speaking of safety, it's acceptable: The Versa earned a crash-test rating of 4 out of 5 stars (see here for more details http://www.safercar.gov/Vehicle+Shoppers/5-Star+Safety+Ratings/2011-Newer+Vehicles/Vehicle-Detail?vehicleId=10184). The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that there have been 1 recall, 1 investigation, and 31 complaints regarding the 2015 Nissan Versa. Apart from safety, the engine (rated at 109 hp and 106 lbs. of torque) could definitely use about 31 to 50 more horses. CONCLUSIONS – I strongly opine that this is a very good (but NOT necessarily a great) car for everyday practical purposes due to its obvious drawbacks. Many of these drawbacks (based on my subjective judgment) depend on what your car needs are, and how much you're personally willing to tolerate in terms of affordability, vehicle classification, desired powertrain, and additional creature comforts. Overall, the 2015 Nissan Versa SL is convenient and reasonably comfortable for everyday use. I give it 4 out of 5 stars (more like 3.5 if I could be precise).

CVT Transmission Nightmare
**UPDATE** Edmunds asked me to update my review. It still stands, Nissan created a great small car with a terrible transmission. To my knowledge they are still using the same brand gearbox so I will leave my original review. Avoid Versa, Sentra, Altima, Juke, Rogue, and Murano because they all have the same failing CVT transmission. CVT started slipping at 40,000 miles. We were on the Highway with a speed limit of 65 and we couldn't get the car above 50 before the gas pedal was useless. The RPM would jump from 1500 to 3000 back to 1500 and we lost acceleration and could only coast at a slower speed. If you pushed harder it would redline the RPM gauge, jerk, then drop back to 1500.

Designed for regret
'15 Versa is a poorly designed and manufactured vehicle. It especially suffers from woefully cheap materials, plastics and metal, and poor manufacturing. The suspension is terrible - you will feel every crack, crevice, and pebble in the road. In cold weather, there is noise from the dashboard, windshield, and/or plastics on the outside of the windshield - the noise will drive you nuts (search online). It will become unstable over 65mph unless you have enough weight in the car. Yes, it has a ton of space in the cabin and trunk, but that's air, and the metal is so thin, there's nothing keeping the car on the road. I put 120lbs in the trunk for more stability. Obviously, there is no quality control during manufacturing. It has defects in the paint, headliner cloth, and placement of the windshield. I found 8 screws and fasteners that were not properly tightened. Back to the paper-thin body metal, you can hear pebbles, sand particles, and salt granules hitting the bottom sides of the car - I've never heard this in any other car. It feels so delicate, I'm afraid the slightest nudge or light touch will damage it. It may have a Japanese brand name, but it lacks all Japanese brand qualities. Please, look at other vehicles in this class; you will pay a little more, but you can get a far superior car. The Versa is designed for buyer's regret. Nissan burned their reputation with this car.

Versa
I leased this car back in April of 2015, first few months everything was OK, once it hit 10,000 i noticed things. The tire pressure light has been on since 10,000 and it's now at 23,295. After oil change, it'd go off just to come back on then after a few hundred miles. This car has horrible horrible HORRIBLE acceleration. I am scared to drive it on highways especially after you have to yield, the car doesn't go. I feel that there is something wrong, it's very very sluggish when you drive it. Doesn't give enough power. Once, my wife was driving the car and then it just randomly turned off on her and it wouldn't start until after 6 tries, never happened again but it's worrisome enough. It's a nice looking car, good interior but I just don't like how this car doesn't really drive. Gas mileage is good on this car, I like it. I am returning it in 2018 so another 13 months or so to go. I wouldn't recommend this car.

a rolling wreck
You need to know that a Nissan has the worst transmission "on" the road today!! The dealer will not fix it and FORGET about Nissan even owning up to the problem they created. I have had my Nissan for 1 year and 6 months ago my transmission started going out,the dealer said, bring it in and we will charge you $165.00 to check it out and $4200.00 to replace the transmission! I made a terrible mistake buying a Nissan,I am retired and thought this would be my last car.Now i will go to the salvage yard and buy anything if it will just run! Anything that is BUT A NISSAN!! Please, for the love of GOD himself, buy a scooter, buy a gremlin, but a scateboard but DO NOT PURCHASE A NISSAN!!

Keep it maintained
Great fuel economy. Replacement parts expensive. If you had your Versa new, be sure to change parts with better quality parts at the service interval. Example: The Versa comes with pressed on wheel bearing, cheap wheel bearings. It suggested to change wheel bearings at 30,000 miles. Cost of high quality bearings is $380 for both front bearings. $400 labor. The cost of cheap bearings is $100 for both. I just had mine done. The bearings I had put on will probably last 100,000 mile or the life of the car. Do the same with the spark plugs. Replace with Iridium plugs at the first spark plug change. Don't go cheap and the car will last. Who cares about the CTV noise. You didn't buy a luxury car, you bought an economical "get around the city" car.

Great car for the money "2015" In 2020 still going
Its basic transportation! for $11k "2015" a lot of car for the money! Its not the smallest car on the road, fits 6 footers, MPG 38 mpg, roomy front and back seats, "not the best material" large trunk, the five speed good, not a race car, decent CD, and Bluetooth, the glove compartment is very large, it does very well in rain and upstate NY snows. Its traveled from NC to upstate NY, to Mo to the east coast. Still run good, very dependable, I am planning on keeping it for another 5 years or 200k miles.

Not so great
We didn't expect so much for the money. Just a great car. Edit Sept. 2017: In last 2 months check engine light appeared twice. It is annoying because you don't want to think about the car too much, especially a new one. Edit Mar. 2018: Constant "battle" with the check engine bulb. There have been 3 different codes since Sept 2017.

Poorly constructed vehicle
I've owned this vehicle for almost 2 years. If you can avoid it, I would not purchase it. While it is a decent car to get from point A to point B with amazing gas mileage, the acceleration is very poor. Merging onto the freeway attempting to go the speed of traffic is very difficult due to the lack of acceleration. The brakes are also nothing to be impressed with, they have a hard time abruptly stopping. I currently have 15,600 miles on my car, I am constantly putting air into the tires and most recently the transmission failed. I am still under the dealership's 2 year warranty so the replacement transmission will be covered this time. However, it's worrisome that a car with so little miles and not even 2 years old is already having such large issues that carry an even larger price tag to repair outside of the warranty.

Buyer beware!
I purchased this car new in 2015. The mpg is great in this car. That is the highpoint of it. It is really light and gets moved by the wind. Poorly constructed vehicle. My rear spoiler has come unattached twice. The cd player had problems. The transmission went out at 30,000 miles. I did get it repaired under warranty. Please be skeptical if you are thinking about this car. I would never recommend it to anyone. Worst car I ever owned!

Nissan Versa
I first leased this car back in April of 2015. The first 10,000 miles or so I was happy, once it hit 10,000 things changed. The car is very sluggish. Very very very hard to drive it in windy conditions. There was one day where the car completely turned off on us on a really busy highway, and to this day no idea why that happened. One thing is this car is great on gas mileage. I do drive it just locally since it's also a lease, I get about 35 mpg. If I had to re-do, I wouldn't have gotten this, but I am almost done with the lease, so it's good. I am looking forward to upgrade.

It's a tank
I bout my 2015 nissa versa with 28 test driven miles on it. Now 9/10/20 I have 138.888 miles on it tune up was a breeze new plugs regular oil changes and no issues at all. The car is lacking in the sport class but makes up for it in the family department. I live in ohio and with a good set of tires it goes pretty dang good in the snow. Like the title says this thing is a tank. I have been rear ended 3 separate times one by a new 1500 Silverado totaling the truck . All three times I havw drove home. Great gas milage but slow responses from the cvt. All around I am pleased my my little tank.
I Got A Lemon
At 50000 miles car began shaking and acting like it might stall on occasion. Engine light on and blowing P117A code. Nissan dealer said it was related to air/fuel ratio censors. They replaced one but light came back on and problems persisted. Dealer then told me it was another censor but this one was not covered (lie, it was covered under Federal Emissions Warranty). Had that one replaced and STILL problem persists. I have found other people online claiming same problem with Sentra. I am PISSED that I will now have to get another car/taking a loss. Steer clear.

terrible car
the transmission is AWFUL and super expensive to repair. They only give a 60,000 mile warranty on the drive train. Kia gives at least 100,000 mile warranty on the drive train. The corrupt Nissan co. gives a 120,000 mile warranty on the 2010 and back JUNK CVT trans, they only do that because they know most of those cars have more than 120000 miles. Terrible car from a terrible company. Also GM plays warranty games too so stay away. If you can only give a 60,000 drive train warranty the company knows they are selling junk. Please do not buy any Nissan car with a CVT JUNK transmission. You will regret it. The Sentra, Altima, Rogue, and Maxima all have CVT JUNK transmission.

2015 Nissan Versa
44,000 miles and my 4 year old car has a shift lock defect wich enables the car to be taken out of the park position even when the shift lock has never been touched. To my surprise i have been stuck in my driveway, gas station and other places. I sat in a parking space for over and hour trying to find a solution which i did. By removing the small panel and sticking my tire pressure stick inside and pushing it down and it releases the shift lock. My dealership wants me to pay for the diagnostic when the car is under warranty. Buyer beware.

Lasted me only 63,000 miles until it crooked
I bought this thing brand new in Oct 2015 - it completely died Oct 2020. Now I am forced to buy a new car. It wasn't the battery- we tried to jump it multiple times. I am a responsible car owner, I take it to get maintained every time it needed it. Never got in an accident with it. It has a clean title. I will never buy Nissan again. Now I am forced to buy a new car because it costs more than the car is worth to fix. Do not recommend.
Never buy a Nissan again, that’s what I learned
The car looks great on the outside and is a nice little car for the price and it’s pretty straight forward in terms of specs. However, the acceleration is terrible along with the blind spots. it’s almost like you’re in a truck but you’re in a car. I’m 6’3” and I strongly recommend that if you are near that height DO NOT buy this car. If I could show pictures of my kneecaps hitting the dash I would. It’s a good little car all around just definitely not for the tall or big boned for that matter. Will be my first and last Nissan! :)

Reliable and Economical Machinery
I have had this vehicle for a little over six years. I purchased it for a listing of roughly $12,000 - $14k after tax with a payment of $208 monthly. It had 15,xxx miles when I got it. I now have 128,xxx miles on this vehicle. I knew when I purchased this vehicle that it would be a plain Jane, no frills car. Several tag lines list this car as "The cheapest family car in America". I have the cheapest model with manual window rollers and locks which many of my friends thought was odd on a new vehicle. I am glad i did it because I never have to worry about a motor going out. It has cruise control and an aux port on the radio and personally that's all I needed/need. I was 19 when I got this car (25 now) I had gotten my first full time office job and needed reliable transportation with great gas mileage and it has delivered. I wanted something I could afford if i lost my job which was a wise move. I have had several job changes and went through life's motions but could always afford and maintain this vehicle. Many of my friends splurged on luxury vehicles with 800+ car payments and struggled to keep them. Maintenance wise not accident damage or user abuse: I have had to put a new radiator fan because the OEM failed and the car overheated. It was a cheap fix. I have also put a new battery on it, pretty cheap as well. The car is easy to work on and parts are cheap compared to other brands. Tires are dirt cheap you can get a Douglas for 44 dolllars. However, I put the more expensive good years on mine. I have regularly changed the oil and air filters, wipers. I can change the oil myself with it flat on the ground unjacked it is super easy. Accident and user operator error: I have had some minor bumps to objects, backed into a car with no damage to my own, ran through tons of rough patches, hit the small metal reflective stakes that go around some curves like I was collecting sonic coins, forgot to put it in park and ran it under my girlfriend's parents' trailer which broke the headlight and bent the front fender no damage to the trailer other than a panel of skirting. ($80 for a new headlight and a couple bucks for some fender fasteners and fixed the damage myself perfectly! as i said they are easy to work on) , hit the occasional opossum. This car is still going and has never stopped once. It is easy to drive although a little underpowered. Once you get going the car sails along fine. However it lacks a bit when it's very first taking off although it still does it quickly I am often pulling ahead at stop lights thanks to the CVT. My pet peeve is at low rpms and sharp gas pedal presses the CVT trans will chirp and squeal which can be annoying. It's just the nature of the beast. In reality the car offers plenty of power and has done just fine. It is also very light which contributes to the great gas mileage and floaty feel. The downside is that it is shaky in strong winds on the highway, but is still manageable. Gas mileage is about 33-34 on average. If i try really hard i can get up to 40mpg. I have saved tons of money with this car. It has truly payed for itself. My vehicle before this one was 2000 ford ranger that was a death trap, money pit, and overall hassle. So even though the versa isn't the most luxurious it is a night and day difference. So overall this is a great little car that will get you where you need to go. It handles well in rural city driving and calm winded highways. It truly just zips along. I have paid this car off and plan on keeping it for a few more years and running her till the wheels fall off. I may update in a few years and another 100,000 miles.

Economical car, but pricy trans replacement
The 2015 Nissan versa from what I've been told after the fact has a known tail lamp issue where water can get in and cause failures with the transmission. This fix will set you back around 700 for parts and dealer labor [200/hr]..2 1/2 hour job, not to mention once the trans goes out. You have to replace it with new complete unit. No rebuild available outside dealer forXtronic CVT® (Continuously Variable Transmission , which will set you back around 5k including dealer reprogram fee, which only they can do. Buyer beware of Nissans and check with repair shops to see if purchasing this car is worth your money.

FIRST NEW CAR
This is the first new car I have ever bought and I am 65. After reading the reviews I am worried. I pay a lot for this car each month and will have payments for 6 years. I do have a 5 year warranty on the engine so if I have a problem I will take it to the dealer. If I get no satisfaction I will get a lawyer. Hopefully I dont. So far the car is great but I have only had it 4 months.
