Used 2018 Nissan Sentra Sedan Consumer Reviews
One Day Owner
We bought our first Nissan yesterday, after a lot of research; my wife thought she wanted a VW Jetta, but decided it was too big. We looked at the Honda Civic, but like the other guy said, Honda thinks their cars are made out of gold. I have a friend that put 260K miles on a 1999 Maxima, and another 200K on a 2000 Altima, so I feel pretty confident going with Nissan. My wife loves her new car! And with our $6000 trade-in value, we came out with no down payment, and only financing $9000.....that comes to $187/month with 0% APR. I'm looking forward to driving it myself - I've only ridden shotgun, but it felt tight and composed for an economy car. Our sales woman (22 year old girl) knew her stuff, and was well-versed in car sales; she did what we asked of her, and didn't push more on us than we initially discussed. My wife's demands were automatic transmission, CD player, and backup camera. We've now had this car just short of two years. The gas tank is too small, so fill ups come often, the tires wore out at 25K miles, our dealership - where we get service through their "plan" - seems like they always find something that needs attention when we go in for a "free" oil change. So far, it has needed a four-wheel alignment, brake flush, fuel injection service, two air filters, windshield wipers, cabin filters; you name it, they think it needs replacing. Oh, and the battery already had to be replaced. And they wanted to service the CVT; the service advisor (different dealership) said the fluid in a CVT is sticky, and should be replaced every 25K miles. Funny, they only upsell the wonderful CVT, but don't mention it's pitfalls. It's my wife's car, so I drive it only occassionally, but it seems like Nissan treats it like it's a fine automobile that needs constant tuning (think Jaguar of seventies vintage).....IT'S A SENTRA - we bought it new for $13,999! Personally, I'm disappointed: I can't see me buying a Nissan ever again. Update 2 - we've now had it 2 1/2 years. After changing dealerships for service, I'm enjoying the Nissan experience much more. We pay monthly for unlimited car washes, and my wife's Sentra gets washed about three times a week (her nephew loves it) and the finish is as good as new. Honestly, it's a nice little car. It now has 43000 miles, and runs as good, or better than new. As I stated above, it was the dealership service that had me disliking Nissan; the car itself is quite pleasant. Update at 3 year's ownership: Car now has 50K miles. It runs good, is comfortable on long drives, and gets excellent mpg. Like I said above, it was the dealership that made my Nissan experience terrible - it's a great [not so] little car.

Poor Quality in a Nice Looking Package
I have owned this car brand new since February of 2017. So far, the passenger rear window switch has broken 3 times and now there is a metal-on-metal sound under the front passenger side of the car when hitting bumps. The warranty is only 3/36k and the car began to fall apart immediately. It takes full synthetic oil, making oil changes expensive. The gas tank is 10 gallons, so you'll be stopping often. I am now way upside down on the car and having to decide whether to take the hit by trading it in or repairing it. Literally any other car would be a better investment.

Good car that can be better
Is a great car with a good mpg. But, since I bought my car I had to deal with a few problems. First, the plastic that goes from the dashboard to the roof of the car feel off. Then my front sensor got bad. Now I’m experiencing a TPMS problem and the bluetooth does not work.
Worst car I've ever driven
I purchased a 2018 Sentra SV new and it didn't even make it to 60,000 miles. I don't drive irresponsibly, I don't floor it, and I certainly wasn't playing with the shifter while driving, but my transmission blew out at around 58,000 miles (I believe it was something like 57,240 or 57,260 miles) which is shameful for a new car. The transmission wasn't even the first part to break! My fuel pump went out at 22,000 miles! It was a sign of worse things to come. I was wooed by a 2018 Sentra SR that I rented while having my 2010 Ford Fusion serviced and chose the SV due to a lack of availability in my area. Bad choice! If I had known then what I knew now I would've bought a Kia Optima new instead. If you're going to buy it, at least get it with a manual transmission instead of the horribly unreliable CVT.

Worst car ever
I bought 2018 Sentra brand new with 10 miles on it. Within the first month, it had to have the brake starting sensor replaced twice as it left me stranded with children. It has been replaced two more times since and still doesn’t work correctly. The front radar has been giving me error codes since I drove it off the lot. The tachometer jumps and jerks when I drive on the highway and will not allow the car to accelerate. I now have two malfunction warnings from the radar and after two minutes of driving it starts making this horrible ringing noise and won’t stop until you turn the car off. It it happens every time you drive the car. The AEB light has been on the dash for several weeks as well. Let’s not even get started on gas mileage. A complete fill up says I will get about 400 miles, I had to start tracking g the mileage, bc I would barely get 200 to a full tank. Worst vehicle ever bought. It makes a horrible clunking noise when shifted out of park. Definitely do not recommend. I will never purchase another Nissan. My previous Rogue has major transmission issues, didn’t think that it would carry on into a newer vehicle.
