Used 2009 Nissan Rogue SUV Consumer Reviews
Nice car, when it’s not in the shop.
Bought my used 2009 Rogue back in late 2019. I’m a little foggy on the details now, but I believe the current mileage at that time was ~115,000? Handled and drove great, had to replace all of the brakes quickly after purchase though. Since then it’s been at least 2-3 issues each year. Here are the highlights. 2020: Starter burnt up, no clue until it wouldn’t start at a gas station. 2021: Transmission went out while I was driving on the highway. 2023-2024: Misfiring within the engine, causing “death wobbles” with the full car shaking; brake lights out for the 3rd time; blower motor and relay went out in the height of summer; and now the car starts but can’t move (unsure of what the issue is now, could be the transmission again). At this point the car is ~170,000 miles, I had fully intended for this one to last to at least 200. But I’m doubting if it’s even worth fixing when it’s going to be in the shop again in a few months with something else. Not sure if it’s the FWD, but the car HATES hills. Very loud on the road since 2020. And constantly makes a loud whining when up shifting. It’s a shame it has so many issues, because it really does handle great.
