i have a 2007 Nissan Quest with 135K miles. Prior to hitting 100K the car engine wise was Ok, but I constantly needed brakes, and every single component of the interior was broken, the ridiculous placement of the cupholders on the rear seats, came off everytime someone got out of the car, every knob had fallen off, the windshield wipers were terrible, it was a mess, but since the engine was good, I carried on. When the car hit 100K all that changed, i needed motor mounts, timing chain is now deteriorating (thats what the dealer said) I can no longer open the windows and when I went to dealer to see about fixing that, he said the part( a new switch) was $600!!!!! I kept hearing a knocking sound when i switched gears, and was told it was the need for motor mounts which could've also been causing the poor acceleration and revving of the RPM's while car went no where, so 1000$ later motor mounts were fixed, and car still makes knocking sound and still has acceleration problems, i had the transmission tested and and apparently thats shot now too, DEALER actually said its not worth fixing due to the timing chain issue??? its only 2007 and I was hoping to get to 200K and kept up on all the maintenance for that reason??????? I wil never buy a NISSAN again , and will tell everyone i know about the poor quality .

Nice vehicle when I bought it: Nice design, comfort, fun to drive, and thinking about the Japanese quality I was expecting a really nice quality vehicle. But one month after the purchase the battery died, was replaced under the warranty but still a hassle. Then at 15,000 miles the reas sonar alarm sound died and I have to replace the speaker by myself. otherwise you ended paying around $300 to the dealer. Then at 28,000 miles the rear door mechanism broke, a poor soldering nut to the frame of the door. Then at 30,787 miles (just few days ago) the speedometer is showing a higher speed, the gauge does not come back to zero, so you ended with 10 miles more your current speed, want more.

Just traded in our 04 Quest SL for an 07 Quest SL. Our 04 had 34,000 miles on it and never once had to be returned to the dealership, other than for routine maint. We've only had the 07 for a week so there isn't a lot about reliabilty to report yet, We are most impressed with the power/smoothness of the 3.5L engine and 5 speed auto transmission. This 07 seems even more refined than the 04 in fit/finish. We were glad to see the addition of left side sliding door and traditional location for speedometer over steering wheel.

So much better than my 1999 Windstar

Bought it new in 2006. We realy liked the style and we trusted Nissan's reliability because we drove a 94 Altima all the way up to 250000kM with absolutely no trouble. We now have 150 000kM and had no major trouble. But everytime we had to go to the garage, repair were expensive due to lack of room around the motor. Cost 700$ to replace alternator a few months ago! The other annoying thing is that sliding doors freeze in winter. But overall, this van is so much better than our 99 Windstar that I cannot complain.

Beware of Nissan Corp issued TSB's

I never thought I would be a minivan owner but I saw the style of the quest..I fell in love with it. I read reviews vs other minivans and all seemed great on the Quest. Shortly after my warranty expired I started to notice a whining noise coming from the engine. When I took it into the dealership they kept it over night, charged me $100 to diagnose it. I was floored to find out that the estimate to replace my timing chain both primary and secondary along with the guides was going to cost $3,000!! I took it to for another opinion and at that time I was informed that Nissan KNEW this was a problem for years and has a Technical Service Bulletin out. I had never even heard about a TSB!??
