Used 2004 Nissan Quest 3.5 S 4dr Minivan (3.5L 6cyl 4A) Consumer Reviews
less than expected
This is our third Quest and we expected this 'new' Quest to be as good as the others and we have been very disappointed. Right off the lot the van has needed repairs for vibrations, rattling doors, seats....too many to go on. Perhaps that is why Nissan increased the bumper to bumper warranty. We love the space and it is great on the road but it just has not lived up to being a Nissan.
Worst Quest by far
3 days on the road, the engine malfunction light went on. The computer had to be reprogrammed and an engine part replaced. Took 4 days to diagnose and repair! Now 2 weeks later, found out the right sliding door itself unbelievably scratching the side of the body making scratch marks both inside and out! Armrest, sliding door, rear window on left side are too loose while those on the right too tight. Gas consumption is almost 40% more than the spec, and definitely more than my mom's SUV. Felt totally betrayed by its looks.

Starting Problems
Frequently this vehicle won't start in the AM. I have taken it to the dealer repeatedly and they claim they can't replicate the problem. I overhead some mechanics discussing that this is a common customer complaint with this vehicle, but when I questioned them on the comment, everyone denied having said it.
Brakes issues, poor interior quality
My Q needed a new fuel pump early in its life, which was covered under warranty. Also, front brakes were troublesome, a lot of vibration, several repairs, none covered by Nissan dealer despite known brake issues. No other problems with it mechanically. I loved the center gauges, a lot of people didn't, so that was changed in later models. Driver's seat back fabric wore out just after the warranty on it was up, ended up with two holes! The driver's seat back also seemed to get a bit wobbly, or loose. 3rd row seat was not easy to retrieve from stowed position. I think that many women would not have the strength for it - as a big guy I had to fight it.
New Quest hesitate to drive in 3 months
I liked the Van initially when I bought 3 months ago, but now some what I am going away from it's first impression. The van started hesitating to drive and I had to tow it to the dealership. Believe me it was not a happy scene as everybody was looking at the tow truck with this van being towed. It took more than a week to fix the problem. Very disappointing!
