99 Maxima GLE
I bought the car in 06 with 54k on it. It was perfect for two years. Now there is 90k miles on it, and all of my coils need to be replaced, along with all spark plugs. At the dealer they charged $1400.
Still Strong
I've been driving this car for 30k miles per year for 5years and I have only done the brakes twice and have replaced the clutch at 80k. It's really and ideal car for the type of driving that I do, and it still looks good when it's cleaned up. I'll sell this to my niece next fall and she willquite likely get another 50k out of it before any major maintanence is required.
Maxima, best car for the price
This is a wondeful automobile. Nissan has the best engine going. Smooth performance. No service issues and the most reliable car I've owned. This is a great sports car feel disguised as a sedan
Couldn't ask for more
I bought this car sight unseen using an online auction. I did a lot of research. I was pleased with it when I went to pick it up and have remained so even after three years. It originally had 68,000 miles and now has 116,000. The only problems have been: 1) one coil pack went bad, and I replaced it myself (about $45) 2) the automatic temp a/c wants to cool even when it is cool outside. You can still get heat if you run it up to 85. If the temp is cold outside, it works normally. 3) I've had to replace both c.v. joints because of boot failure. Both were after 100,000 miles, so I kind of expected that. The joints were not making any noise, but the technician suggested replacement anyway.
This car rocks!
Bang for the buck, the Maxima SE cannot be beat. The V6 is buttery smooth. The suspension is designed for zipping along twisty roads and yet is smooth on the highway. You can get the car in stick shift! (Try getting that in an Accord V6 or Camry V6!) The car is quiet even at speed. The brakes are great. Even the base sound system is pretty darn good. The car can seat four six-footers with room to spare. Great gas mileage considering it can run 0-60 in the high sixes. If you want a four-door family car that is a blast to drive, buy a Maxima SE!
