Luxury car for great price.

I'm very satisfied with the purchase of my Juke. It's been 6 months now and I really do love it. I have all the features of a high-end luxury car for the price of a Nissan. Heated Leather Seats, Sunroof, Navigation, Handsfree Bluetooth, iPod integration, Backup Cam...all the goodies I've always wanted. The car is very sporty and is super fun to drive, especially when in Sport mode. I like that you can choose between the different driving modes. They really do make a noticeable difference in the car's performance (I just wish it would save your last setting do you don't have to change it back every time you start the car). I've never had turbo before and because the car is so light and nimble, the thing GOES when you want it to. Really great for manuevering southern California's traffic. Just be careful, I got a ticket the first day I had it. So far I've had no issues with the car. I've had 2 nissans before and they've always been super reliable so I'd expect the same from my Juke. The look of the car is not really my style. Some people love it, some hate it. I don't really care about that, I was more concerned with the features it offered while still being a hatchback. I call it a hatchback and not a small SUV because that's what it is. When I first got it, I was expecting more of an SUV and since my last 2 cars have been larger SUV's, I wanted the same thing just smaller. This is not that. It is really tight on space. This hasn't been an issue for me so far but it does take some getting used to. If doing any long term camping trips, major costco runs, or if you have kids, this is not the car you want to use for that. It's really more like a sporty coupe with a little bit more clearance and space. The seats fold down and that definitely helps increase cargo space but you have to push the front seats forward to get the rear seats down. Kind of a pain but not a deal breaker for me as I do not have kids and rarely even a second passenger. My other issue with the car is the fact that I'm constantly having to fill up the gas tank. The tank itself is small (10gallons ish) and the gas mileage on this thing is not so great (I'm averaging at 24mpg...not good for such a small car but considering it has turbo, I get it). Oh, and it takes 91 premium fuel. So even though it only costs me about $30 to fill up, I am doing so every few days, as it only has a range of about 250mi on a full tank. It also takes synthetic fuel, again due to the turbo, so the maintenance is not as cheap as any of the other low end nissans. Overall, I really am happy with the Juke. Sure it has it's downfalls but the pros definitely outweigh the cons for me. If I could have gotten a used versa with the same SL features, I would have gone for that, but only the new Versa's have all those nice features. Not as much ground clearance as the Juke but way better on gas and probably not a ton of difference as far as cargo space goes.

Turbo concerns

AE, 06/25/2016
2012 Nissan Juke S 4dr Hatchback AWD (1.6L 4cyl Turbo CVT)

I purchased my 2012 Nissan Juke new and have loved the look, feel and reliability of this vehicle until a few days ago. I have taken care of the vehicle and have lower than average miles on it. The warrant only covers 3 years and the turbo assembly now needs to be replaced. This part should last the life the vehicle, not simply until after the warranty expires. I was told that the turbo assembles are back ordered because it is a common problem with Jukes, which makes me question the quality of workmanship on this vehicle. If I will need to replace the turbo assembly every 4 years at $2,200-$2,500, this vehicle will have to go! I would not recommend purchasing one unless you have that kind of money at your fingertips every 4 years and don't mind parting with it. Reliability is a big concern for me. I purchased a new car so I wouldn't have to be concerned about costly repair bills or that my vehicle will shut down on me while driving causing a safety issue. Apparently, I chose the wrong make and model.

I don't know why all the negative comments about MPG. If you put a lot of miles on a vehicle, use ECO. This car is zippy enough without having the turbo on all the time. I am getting 28 mpg combined highway and city. Can't complain about that. I love everything about this car.

Test drive one, and you will fall in love with it's driving performance. With SL trim, it's a great value. Regarding MPG, with one week of ownership, what I found out is the following. If the car is driven as a small turbo punchy nimble car meant to be driven, my commute (60% HWY, 40% Local) gives about 22~23 MPG. But if I drive like my mother is sitting next to me, I was able to get 33~34 MPG on the same route. It's all up to YOU the driver how you balance MPG and performance; much more so than other cars that I had driven before.

2012 Juke airbag failure

This Juke was bought new. The juke is fun, unique shaped. I like the Juke overall. It is speedy when needed, etc. The original sticker and ads say 37mpg in big numbers and words. No matter if is in eco or turbo mode(default setting), the MPG is 25 on the highway(70 degrees outside and no ac on, no rain, all highway no traffic lights), and 20 in the city. Read the fine print on the window sticker of all Nissans. The fine print says 21. The car has 19,000 and requires new tires. Most tires last 40k Well, as far as factory support, I took it in for a factory recall. The timing chain is to be replaced. This requires an oil drain and refill the oil. This an oil change without a new oil filter. No free filter included. 3/13/17 addition: A different car ran a stop sign across 6 lanes of traffic, directly in front of the Juke, while the Juke was going 40mph. No airbag deployed. Nissan says if the seat belt works( as stated in the owner's manual), then the air bag may or may not deploy. Everybody but Nissan thinks it should have deployed. Ripped muscles, whiplash, severe concussion.

I just recently purchased my Juke, and I must say it is quite a unique vehicle. The interior is very modern and 21st century, providing you with a space age feel. Seating is moderatly comfortable, however rear seating is a litte cramped as is head room. Some say the outside is hideous replicating a praying mantis or some sort of bug. This look is not for everyone, and it's either a take it or leave it for most buyers. Driving it is a blast especially in sport mode. It has some pick up and go to it when you need, and the ECO mode when you want to be green. MPG is not what it should be, however you do have to remember this is an SUV.

The juke is alot fo fun to drive. Its very manuverable and has loads of power. You pay dearly for the powr it produces though. The epa ratings are extremely off. The sad truth is real life city ratings are 19-21 and if you drive very conservatively you may get 25-27 on the highway. Poor gas mileage and the high octane fuel recommendation makes this one rather expensive to drive. The rear seats are useless for adults, only very small poeple will fit back there.

Don't think the Juke is for everyone but for us it was the right car. Just my wife and I now so did not need a lot of room and wanted a fun car. Not a week goes by that someone does not approach us and ask about the car. I think it handles great and lot of options. For the price don't think you can beat it.

I bought this car for my wife as it as time to replace her Hummer H3 with a more fuel practical vehicle. I have the AWD SV CVT automatic model. The car is a blast to drive in any of the 3 modes and the looks are in a class of it's own... but it stops there. The vehicle does not even come close to the MPG rating of "30" Hwy, and I have tried different driving techniques to try to make it happen. The best it will get is 25.5 period! This was one of my deciding factors and it was not accurate. I have noticed we had to look at 3 Jukes to find a consistent paint quality as most had "orange peel" issues. All in all a fun car to drive, but there are nicer MPG models out there.

I've owned my 2012 Juke SL for a little over a year. I can say, honestly, it was a great purchase. Not once have I need to take it in for repairs other than oil changes. it's smaller gas tank size is made up by great MPG. One thing that is noticeable is the handling, grips the road very well with easy, quick and tight turns. My only warning is limited storage throughout the whole vehicle. It has two cup holders and a very tiny cubby to put stuff and that is it, literally. This is sadly, the only reason I'm looking at a new vehicle. The storage space just isn't there. Hope this helps!

After one year, $8,000 repair bill

My son bought the 2012 Juke because he wanted a reliable vehicle out of college for a reasonable price. It had under 80,000 miles on it, and looked pretty new. It completely died on him last week, only about a year after he bought it, and turns out the timing belt went, taking the engine with it. Took it to the dealer and the transmission also needs to be replaced. We are looking at $8,000 minimum to repair and he still owes $4,000 on it. Apparently there is an issue with a part holding the timing belt in place that is known to the dealer but was not shared with us. This is so discouraging. My son made all the right choices and the car was a complete lemon, but of course none of it is under warranty. Would never buy one of these again. Do your homework before buying this car.

Im absolutely satisfied with this car nissan did a really good job on it. At the first time I did not fell in love with the car but when I went to the dealer to test drive an altima, I checked the car more closely, and I love it the features, inside the car and outside he car are awesome, looks sporty, small, and good looking if you like different things, it is roomier enough to have 5 people and a trunk space free to load it up. If you want to get this car get the SV trim with navigation, AWD and if is possible black/red interior, and it is not going to cost you to much. Mine is black in the outside and red interior and it looks extremely cool.

Nissan compensation

Juke owners seem to mostly be in agreement that their cars are not getting the mpg numbers that were advertised. Mine should be getting 30mpg highway and it it does well to get to 23.5. MANY other auto makers have had models with this problem and they have compensated owners for the problem. WHY is Nissan refusing? Dealerships I've spoken to say they get regular complaints about the Juke mpg; the internet is loaded with customer compaints. I was advised to call the 1-800-Nissan1 by my dealership to try to get some compensation. When I called, I was told that there is NOTHING offered to resolve this problem. Have had this car for about two months now. I purchased this auto because it is very easy to steer and also has the AWD feature. It is very easy to maneuver & park. The turbo really provides bursts of energy, especially when using the "Sport" mode. I am getting around 29 to 31 MPG in town. Haven't yet taken it on a long drive, but figure I will get more MPG using the "economy" mode. I love the looks, the handling, & the weight of it. I was looking to replace a 2000 VW Beetle. Interior could be nicer, but it does have heated seats. They need to add an "auto down" button for passenger seat and add electric adjustable driver's seat. I wanted something quick and nimble & easy to drive.

LOVE my little Pumbaa!

When I got my certified pre owned 2012 Nissan Juke (Pumbaa) he was 1 yrs old(2013). I have been in love since the day I purchased him. If you've already done the math, you're right it's been 7 great years. As with any car if you take care of it it will take care of you. (getting you from point A to point B and anywhere in between) Meaning, make sure you follow the manufacturer recommendations i.e. oil changes, tire rotations, systems updated etc. And if there are recalls it is to your advantage to take heed and take it to the dealer for FREE repairs, because if you ignore it and there's problems you could possibly have a chain of problems that could've been avoided had ya just taken it to the dealer and got your FREE repair. With that being said, I can proudly say I haven't had any issues with my 2012 Juke. Also I'd like to note that I have driven it to California twice and it was an easy ride. It had get up when I needed to get going, I could get in and out of tight spots when I needed to and I could enjoy a nice cruse when I wanted to enjoy the scenery. I live in the west so I don't have snow and all that other jazz to worry about BUT there is the HEAT(phew) And as some of the other owners mentioned the space IS tight, cramped, small and there is no storage space BUT I like that even more. For me that meant, no unwanted passengers, no trash left behind(so I have to keep my space clean) and just enough trunk space if I have something over-sized (good thing the seats fold down- and wallah! more space) I'm not tall so leg room isn't a problem for me. I was so sad to find out Nissan no longer makes the Juke in the united states, I definitely would've upgraded. All in all I do recommend the Nissan Juke if you have the opportunity to purchase one, newer then a 2012 or a 2012 go ahead and try one. Have fun driving your JUKE! Be safe and healthy out there y'all!!!

Never bought a Nissan in my life. Was at car lot with sister in law, as she wanted an Altima (WHY? I thought). Saw this COOL looking, froggy car with black leather (heated) seats with red baseball stitching...looks inside like an airplane with the RED hard doors/dash. Exterior is the gun metallic. The car is for single person or SMALL family ..don't plan on putting four people's camping supplies in it for the week! THe back seat does go down, making it larger if no passengers in back. The gas mileage---one has to manually put it in "econo" mode...and drive it like Granny would. If you put it in sports mode and use the paddle shifter-like it was a manual trans, you get performance !

I purchased my JUKE SV AWD at the beginning of the month in Electric Blue. I LOVE it! I traded an 06 Buick Rendezvous w/ all the trimmings and only 22-23mpg. Heard a lot of flack about JUKE's lack of mpg, however, I commute 50 miles one way daily, 1/3=2 lane hwy 1/3=interstate 1/3=city, and I'm getting 27-29mpg. I have NO idea why I have never driven a Nissan before now, but it will be difficult for me to drive anything BUT in the future. It's been called a baby hippo, and alligator, etc. I choose to think of it as my frog on steroids! AND I don't see many of them on the road, so that makes it more unique. :) Love, love, LOVE IT!!!

Have 91k on the car now. The interior is showing a bit of age. The engine isn’t quite as peppy as it was (at our age, who IS as peppy as they were?). Haven’t had any major problems. The heater is kinda weird though…60 degrees is too cool, 61 degrees is full on heater. But that’s been a problem the whole time.

I bought my 2012 Juke 1yr used with 16k miles on it and have driven it for the last 7 years. I maintained it regularly, filled w premium gas and never had a single maintenance issue with it until now. After 100k miles, things start to fall apart on Nissans and this was no exception. I am at 120k and ready to trade in for something newer. Problem is, I am having a hard time finding a replacement because the tech on my Juke was so advanced that I've been spoiled. Lots of new 2020 cars don't even compare! This car is awesome, has a cool interior, and is super fun to drive. I just wish it lasted forever. The only complaint that I had was the lack of leg room in the backseat and cargo height is limited. Other than that, this car was the bomb.com.

I've had my 2012 nearly a year. One of my main decisions was the gas mileage and the unique look. I love my car, it is fun to drive, however I am extremely disappointed in the mpg i drive mostly in town and get about 22mpg. When driving the hwy she gets about 24-25. I would like to find out how some others get a much better gas mileage.

This is a fun car to drive. You can put it in Econ mode to max mpg and at the push of button put it in Sport and blow the doors off! I find that I don't need the back-up camera most of the time as it has such a short rear. Fit and finish was very nice. Trouble with the voice recognition responding to my voice. It seems to work okay with my fiance's (female) voice, but mine it never gets the right name on my phone list. Need to go see the dealer about that. All else is wonderful.

I've had my juke 3 weeks now. I love it. It's fun to drive, and the AWD does work great on the snow. The only trouble I'm having is I'm only getting about 23 mpg, not 30. Which is the main reason I choose the car over others in it's price range. Nissan can't be beat for reliability though. I recently sold my 10 year old Pathfinder and upon the inspection (the buyers wanted) it only needed a new air filter. I got 7 year bumper to bumper warranty, so if anything goes wrong I'm covered.

I love my Juke. Love the exterior styling. I receive many comments - mostly favorable. It's the little things that I didn't notice during the test drive that are worth pointing out. For this price point, you kinda expect to have power locks and auto up windows on both front doors rather than driver only. Also, the vanity mirrors are not lighted. As the only covered storage compartment in the entire car (aside from under the seats), a light in the glove compartment would be a welcome adsdition. As most of my driving is done solo or with my dachshund, it is the perfect car for me. No major complaints just a couple of minor gripes...

The juke is great in town and nimble in traffic, but the horrid gas mileage and the need for premium gas makes it fairly expensive to operate. We average 19-23 on a mix of highway and small town driving. best we have achieved on the highway @ 60 mph was 26. Thats a far cry from the 32 the epa sticker promised. The seats are well bolstered and ok for short trips but are a little too hard for long trips. the back seats are useless for tall adults. No headroom and limited legroom. I am 6.0 tall and my head hits the roof and legs are jammed against the front seat. The only cabin light is in the front so the back seat and cargo area is really dark at night.

I recently bought a 2012 Juke SL. Truth be told, it wasn’t my first pick, but I’m glad I decided to go with it. It’s a quick and nimble little car. AWD is great, and this car is phenomenal in the snow. Best I’ve had in the snow which is really important to me as my previous car was totaled during a snow storm. Sport mode is fun, but I use it sparingly as I hear the turbo is one of the first things to go and it’s expensive to repair, but I have a warranty, so I’m not too worried. I have this car 4 stars because I do with you could play music over Bluetooth, but you can only make calls. Nothing a Bluetooth converter couldn’t solve. All in all, I love this car. Leather seats, heated seats, backup camera, and navigation are awesome perks. I highly recommend it.

Love My Little Juke

There is nothing I dislike about it. I was involved in a hit and run 2 months ago. The Juke was hit hard in the passenger side with only slight damage except for having the passenger door replaced. Me. my daughter and dog were in the car at the time without getting hurt at all. It is a strong built car.

Other reviews regarding poor gas mileage is what I found to be true. Fun car to drive, especially with the turbo that all models have, but gas mileage is bad. Alot of plastic parts inside that I can see not lasting the lie of the vehicle.

No real surprises with my juke. The mileage is around 27 overall with 50% city driving. Peppy, agile and easy to maneuver parking lots. Seat is very comfortable snd supportive. Managed to fit an office chair in the hatch, but is tight back there.

I'm not sure why all the fluctuation of gas mileage, but my 2011 nissan juke sv is getting 29 mpg on the highway. I do run on cruise control to get the best gas. In the city i hot rod and yes only get 23 mpg. I mostly run in normal, but i am very pleased with the performance. Overall I love this car, it does what i want it to and then some. I bought this car to drive and it has exceeded my expectations.

NISSAN DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT

NISSAN DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT While liking the quirky looks of the Juke, reliability and Nissans lack of interest in safety will keep me away from purchasing another Nissan. I purchased my Juke new in 2012. There was a recall in 2014 to tighten the fuel pressure sensor. I took the car in for the recall and there was no charge. 3 years later there was a strong smell of gasoline on startup. I checked online and there was another recall for the SAME ISSUE. I took the car in to Cerritos Nissan expecting that Nissan would stand behind the very SAME ISSUE that plagued Jukes from the beginning. I was wrong. First, I was told that the car had to be diagnosed. There was a non-refundable charge of $190. I was assured that if it was the SAME ISSUE that there would be no charge and that my $190 would be refunded. After the diagnosis, and they had my money, I was told that, although it was the SAME ISSUE as before (2014) my vin number was not included in the latest recall and that the total cost was $930 to repair the fuel sensor. It was a classic bait and switch. I communicated several times with nissanusa.com. In the end they said that my request was denied because, although thousands of Jukes were included in the recall, my Juke was not one of them although the issue was exactly the same. Cerritos Nissan had my money and they didn’t care about customer relations. Last year, I once again had a strong smell of gas on startup. Looking under the car there was a puddle of gasoline. I called Cerritos Nissan and was told that, although it was the SAME ISSUE as the previous two recalls, the cost had gone up to around $1,400. I lost all trust in Nissan, realizing that they do not stand behind their product and that their mechanics are unreliable, I took the car to GT Imports in Riverside CA. I personally know the owner and several of the mechanics and know that they are honest, reliable and stand behind their service. Their charge was $600 less than the same service as Cerritos Nissan. After the repair, GT Imports has messaged and called me several times to make sure that everything went well. Cerritos Nissan never did that. Bottom line...Nissan has a chronic problem with the fuel sensor of the 2012 Nissan Juke. NISSAN DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT

Small Juke 2012

Bought on May/27/2012, now 150123 miles, so far so good, one time suddenly dropped down speeds from 80 miles to 35 in the hot days 110 degrees outside, stopping for while, calling around mechanic, some suggested transmission problems....etc. At home next day turn up the car, replaced with titanium spark plugs, never happen again . Routine changes oil and oil filters Avery 5000 miles, let's how far this car can go. Very good small car people's, and fun to drive with sport mode little bits more gas to pay hahaha. Maybe new shock will help when crossing a rail road, any suggestions guys......
