I was looking for an suv with lots of room and great gas mileage. I’ve had the phev for one year. This is a car that demands proactive operation to get best gas mileage I enjoy that aspect using electric brake paddles, Charge buttons, save mode and all electric mode. On long trips I get around 50 mpg but doing local driving I have gotten over 200 mpg. Best turning ratio, a nice drive, and plenty extras. Also 4wd!

Love the instant electric torque around town, not neck snapping power but no hesitation either. Highway acceleration is slow though, but the car has no issues maintaining 80 mph even on hilly interstates. Interior materials are a mixed bag but overall ambience is ok for the price point. Ride quality is good and handling is responsive and secure. As far a efficiency goes, I get around 20 miles of EV range on a single charge (highway only 70 mph+) and around 27 miles EV range on city only trip. Gas only millage is around 27 mpg on highway, not bad. Out the lot price for my PHEV was $26,700 ($36,700 sticker including fees minus $8,500 discount minus $1,500 loyalty rebate (I owned an Eclipse Cross as well). On top of that I'm getting $5,836 on federal tax credit for this year. You can't beat that!! Or you can get bare-bones base trim Rav4 or CR-V for that amount.

4 months in I have hit 3800 miles. I've only put gas in 5 times. I am averaging 84 mpg with 84% EV driving. I have a 220 Volt 32 Amp charger in my garage. It takes 3.5 hours for a full charge. My largest customer has charging stations so I charge at their office in 2 hours. I have a trailer I tow from time to time that weighs 1100 lbs. When on the highway my vehicle while towing runs strictly on gas. It only gets around 26 mph while towing. Traveling its great, I can go the same distance on 11 gallons of gas that I did with my Outlander GT 6 cylinder. With gas prices souring, I am happy. Last year I spent $3650.00 on gas. This year is estimated to be about $950.00. So here I am 11/26/2022 and not pleased with the battery of this vehicle. It went from around 22 miles to a charge down to about 18 since I purchased it. I complained to the dealer by they said nothing was wrong. The car engine runs when its drops below 50 degrees until it heats up, and then finaly turns off. This burns gas and you cannot push the EV button, it says not available. They car has been running well, and still gets good gas mileage while on the engine. The battery is the issue and not being able to put the SUV into EV mode when its cold out.
