Good fuel mileage... that’s about it.

I’ll just buy a Chevy next. , 10/17/2021

I will preface with the fact that I did buy this car used, but I’ve had nothing but trouble with it. Radiator cap wouldn’t stay tight (yes, it was closed all the way) which led to thermostat issues. It’s now at just under 79k miles and the suspension is screwed, the motor has a tic, and it started blowing smoke yesterday. It throws VVT codes. Also, it has electrical issues and sometimes my windows roll themselves down. I didn’t have much faith in it to begin with, but figured it couldn’t possibly be THAT bad. I babied it as much as I could given that I drive for work. Full fluid change when I bought it, oil& filter change is always early. Ran injector cleaner through it, etc. For what I have in repairs in the last 11k miles, I could’ve just bought a different car. The gas mileage really isn’t worth it.

Bought a salvaged 2017 Mirage ES. Light front end damage that was repaired but was a salvage title. The 3 cylinder is peppy and will keep up at 70-75 MPH in WI roads. Put aftermarket rims & tires on and it is a great 5 passenger (3 kids in back seat) vehicle. I’m 5’9” 200 lbs & Wife 5’4” 270.lbs. All loaded with the kids we still get around great! Put video headsets for kids & drove to MS and back & got 45MPG average at 70-75MPH. Almost as good as the Prius.

great little car! totally misunderstood by most americans. there are many great small cars in Europe and Asia but most of them never make it to the US. a real competitor to the Mirage would be the Kia Picanto. Hopefully , Kia decides to bring this little gem to the US market. Also, many great small cars by Citroen,Ford , Peugeot, VW and Renault are on European streets. But, i have no problem keeping up in traffic with my Mirage. and , i get 44 mpg on the highway.

Bought my 2018 Mirage ES Hatchback in July of that year. Even with the automatic transmission acceleration was a bit sluggish to begin with but loosened up nicely probably at 3k miles and again around 10k miles. It's always gotten all the fuel economy they predicted and then some! Love the Bluetooth and just the simplicity and utility of having a car like this.
