Used 1999 Mitsubishi Diamante Consumer Reviews
Pretty Decent Car
I bought my Diamante for $1200 and I'm not disappointed. It has problems starting even after i replaced the starter but she runs. Smooth riding car. I used to have a 2011 Kia soul and my Diamante handles a lot better. I wasn't expecting a nice engine but I'm amazed at how nice it is. One big problem i have with it is 3 of my door handles are broken. I know someone who had the same problem with theirs. Another small problem i have with this car is it feels a little cramped on the inside. My knees want to rest on the wheel. She's old and needs some more work done but for a $1200 car with 125,000 miles on it I'm very happy with it.
The best sedan....
Most people when they're looking for sedans and cool cars people just look for Honda Civics, Subaru, etc. and undoubtedly those are cool cars, but my car, a 1999 Mitsubishi Diamante, beats all of them. Little Story (You can skip it, the review is at the bottom): When I was 10, my dad's car, Diamante, began fading in the background as he began driving a different car. I loved that car so much and when my dad said he was going to sell it I knew I couldn't let that happen. I would sit in that car and listen to music almost every day imagining the day I could start it and put the gear into drive. So eventually I became impatient and I took the keys just so I could see how it starts and sounds. It did not start. I was so set on making sure that car worked, I began building my knowledge of cars and eventually grabbed my dad's tools and started working on it. I took the entire transmission out, as well as other components which had no correlation with the real issue of why it wouldn't start. Which ended up being the fuel pump, and the battery was getting weak. I was so excited to have found the issue and the reason. I searched for the fuel pump and battery compatible with the car and found both of them at Oreilly. The only problem was that I had no ride because I was working on this car with no permission and I couldn't drive myself. Since I was so excited, I decided to walk 4.5 miles to my nearest Oreilly with the $175 I had saved up. Bought the stuff and walked home, a car battery and fuel pump in hand. Once I arrived at home I installed everything in about 15 minutes. As soon as I heard the stall I got so mad. I breathed in and out as I turned the key in the ignition with everything I had, mind and soul. It started...I screamed so loud in joy it scared my dogs. Now 10 years later this car has been running incredibly without having to take it to an auto shop. Not only was this the car that started my career, it is the best sedan. Review: This sedan is incredible. It is so fast and sporty and honestly pretty good on gas for a v6. I know speed isn't the main thing people look for in cars but believe me, this thing can win some races on stock. This car beat my dad's Mercedes R350, my mom's BMW X1, (which is a twin-turbo), and my sister's Volkswagen CC sport. I'm not entirely sure if it's just because i'm a better driver or the car is really that much stronger and faster, but I completely gapped my friend's Hemi Charger on the track. This car is the best first car for only $768-2800, and just an overall incredible car

Low-Cost Luxury!
I simply love this car! This car has a powerful take off. Horsepower is great! I have three kids, 16, 10, and 7-we all fit comfortably in this mid-size sedan. The look of the car is really sleek and regal and it beats the high price cost of gas that accompanies larger SUV's. Surprisingly, this car now has 160,000 miles-and still runs great. However, I do make it a habit to keep my oil changed.
Here's a real review.
I bought my diamante a half a year ago since iv replaced 1200 on parts (most by choice) I replaced the air intake and made it alot louder. Improved acceleration and now alot of cars cant catch up!

8 Years now
I've had this Diamante since early 2002. I love its look, the way it (used to) drive, and the driver comfort. As the years went on & I put more miles on it, of course, more went wrong with it. It's down right now, needing its third alternator. It has over 197,000 miles on it, though, and overall, I'm pleased with its life performance. It has a power steering problem (seems like fluid leak) that neither of my mechanics can fix. In the last 3 months, the steering has also become a bit less reliable - you have to turn the wheel more if you round a curve at over 35 mph.
