A positive surprise in almost every way
First, I am a long time Mercedes owner and have owned all the major classes but not the smaller ones. I speak from my experiences only. I drove the GLE 450e first then the GLE 350 and settled on the GLE350. I didn't think dragging the extra weight around and loss of under deck storage and spare tire was worth it. Have a flat in the mountains and you will wish you had that spare! Plus I can tow 7700 pounds with the hitch installed. I bought it fully loaded as I wanted the advance safety features as well as comfort features. The leather seats are really comfortable and I love the massage feature! The air works great and all the controls are easy to access via buttons or just telling the car to turn them on or off. The stereo Burmeister, is really fantastic in surround. The advanced driving system is Level II and makes it safer and easier. It will guide you back intro your lane if you stray, automates speed and distance and knows where intersections are, etc. I feel much safer with this feature. Also the Parktronic will ease you into a tight parking spot with no trouble. What really impresses me Is the new MBUX system and its integration with Apple iPhone. You run them both simultaneously and it knows which one to respond to at any time. In addition my partner has a profile and his iPhone is integrated at the same time. Incredibly impressed. Plus I love the new Navigation Mercedes uses. Absolutely accurate down to the parking lots and I now use it instead of Apple Nav. It is not often after as many Mercedes as I have had to be surprised in a most pleasant way but I am. The only down side is the gas mileage which is only helped by careful driving and E mode. You can roll the highway at 28mpg under good circumstances but in town 20 is the best I get. I'll take the trade for the comfort and ride height and cargo capability for now.

BOSS.TELL ME.THIS IS NOT TRUE,
I am disappointed. First time purchasing a brand new Mercedes car, and it's quality was very unsatisfactory. First, two door covers were not properly fitted into the door where was a gap between the door and the plastic frame. (fixed) There were also multiple scratches on the exterior of the car (fixed). On the driver side the handle leather was peeling. The brakes keep on making a thumping noise and the sales mangers told us that all of the new Mercedes GLES brakes make this sound. I don't feel very good with this really loud noise. I also finally got my second key today after waiting a week. I am not sure if this is a big deal but it seems like the dealership took another cars key and reprogrammed it to my car (they didn't dispose of the original tag Which says GLE 350 GREEN) my car is red. Now we are waiting on scheduling an appointment for leather works and brakes check but it taking forever. They don't answer our calls and we always have to come physically to the dealership to get any kind of update. Todays update was wait for the call. I don't have time to be going to the dealership every day to ask for an appointment to get my new car fixed. Overall, I am very sad that my dream car came out like this, I have always believed that Mercedes had the best quality in luxury vehicles, but now I really don't think so anymore.

Good overall but a Mercedes should be better
I have had mine for 6 months. It is nice looking, pretty comfortable, fairly quiet, interior pretty nice, mileage not bad, performance ok but wish a little more torque and power, awd is good to have, wish it came with running boards, and it drove well in a rain storm so I was able to navigate it safely. Some disappointments include the nonintuitive interface and the laughably pathetic voice command integration (and compared to basic available AI assistants on the market, I believe this system would get laughed out of the park it is that pathetic; also, I had a Mercedes about 10 plus years ago I think was better in this respect than this new Mercedes), the trunk opens and closes unintentionally on me sometimes which imo is worthy of a safety recall, and in my experience with the dealership I had pickup service which I appreciated but the service was otherwise unacceptable imo in customer service standards such that I didn’t get my car back the same day I had a morning appt because they never got around to looking at it and I felt I had to continually ask for updates with a sensation that felt like pulling teeth. Overall a nice SUV but an expensive one. For the money and for being a Mercedes especially, it and the service should be better. For the lack of a little bit more power, no sunglass holder and no running boards I knock it down to 4 stars. For the trunk issue, service and imo a nonintuitive and joke of an integrated interface I have to sadly knock it down to a three. It’s nice but given the price it needs improvement to earn a 4 or more.

Stay away from the hybrid!
If you are reading this I encourage you to really research the electrical issues with this car. There is a recall for a brake issue on a small number of cars and yes, that does happen so no big deal. As we are now learning through experience however this car has numerous other software issues. As soon as the weather got cold and damp issues started and the dealer is now “in contact with Germany” about them. They let slip they have another in the shop that has been there 11 months (that’s a patient customer!) with similar issues. Overall the car is solid construction wise and rides beautifully. The issues with soft brakes and “performance extremely limited” and turtle light and check engine lights however is frustrating. We bought it on faith and good experiences with the last two leases. This car appears half baked and not ready for prime time. Please note that our loaner Gas based GLE is very nice. I think this is a hybrid only issue.
GLE 450e just okay
While the car looks great and offers some impressive features like the plug-in hybrid system with good electric range and effective traffic cruise control, there are several areas that seem disappointing. Pros: 1. Aesthetic and Design: The car looks stunning, and I appreciate the overall design. 2. Plug-in Hybrid Efficiency: The ability to get 55 miles per full charge is a significant plus. 3. Traffic Cruise Control: This feature works well and adds to the driving experience. 4. Interior design and room is great for passengers Cons: 1. Seat Ventilation System: It seems like a major letdown compared to your previous GLC 300. It does nothing 2. Engine Noise: Despite the quiet package, the engine noise when it turns on is unexpectedly loud. 3. Performance: The car is underpowered for its weight. 4. Technological Issues: Hand gestures don’t work properly, and the self-parking feature is unreliable. 5. Build Quality: A rattle in the luggage area and other quality concerns make the car feel less premium. 6. Customer Service: The dealership’s response to my concerns about the engine noise was unsatisfactory. 7. Storage: There is NO STORAGE in the car... Nothing... I give it a 3.5 and am strongly looking at other makes and might take the loss to move to a better designed and made vehicle
