E300 fit for taxis in Europe not a luxury vehicle

Styling and interior design is great. Smaller version of S class, however the 4 cylinder engine sounds tinny and the interior materials are getting cheaper. The MBTex doesn't even wrap around the entire front seats, with no audio on, the engine noise is loud and reminds me of a smaller import, seems like MB has put in cheaper materials and lighter materials to save costs and fuel efficiency. I drove this car for a week as a loaner while they were fixing my 2014 E350. Which is much more luxurious then this newer version. I would say in Europe they use smaller engine MBs as taxis and this reminds me of one. I would not purchase this newer model and will look to others when I replace my car

What’s happen to Mercedes quality

Took procession of our 2017 E300 after turning in our 2015 E350. 2017 E300 seem like an improvement over the E350. As we drove off the dealer lot we had a check engine light. Turns out it was a bad oxygen sensor. We also had a rattle in the dashboard that had to be fixed. Drove for another 100 miles and windshield wiper motor needed replaced. Never work. Drove another 75 Miles and the passenger set has an air leak from massage system. This is crazy.

Missing my 2014 E350

This is my 6th Mercedes and 4th E class. The 2017 E300 is nothing like my previous E's. I have had electrical problems, brake problems, keyless go issues and the command center freezes up. When the command center freezes, all features of the car are inoperable-the nav, phone, radio, etc. The dealership has had the car multiple times and can not seem to get everything repaired. The command center just went blank today on the way to the office today. Also, be prepared to hear squeaks and buzzes from the dash and doors. The dealership has been able to remedy SOME of them. Please don't make the same mistake I did and get 'wowed' by the 'technology'. The controls are difficult to figure out and require multiple actions for simple adjustments. Lastly, the four cylinder is not appropriate for a car of this caliber. Drive it for a long time before deciding.

2017 Mercedes Benz E300

I've had quite a few E Class Mercedes, but just tested the new 2017 and won't consider it. It is only available with a tiny, 2.0 litre 4 cylinder, about half the size of the prior E Class models sold in the US. If you are not a car person this might be ok, but I'm interested in the mechanical side of the car and this one is a loser! Under hard acceleration the car is "screaming" under the load. While MB is trying to trick customers by added two speeds to the tranny, you can't disguise the characteristics of the 4 cylinder. Open the hood, it makes the typical 4 cylinder noise. If I wanted a car with a tiny standard engine (no options) then why not get a Hyundai Excel or similar? There are AMG models coming, but only with the so called "sport" styling which is anathema to MB purists, not too mention who needs that much horsepower. A 300 HP six like Audi or BMW offer, in addition to their 4 cylinder offerings is fine. A smooth refined 6 is appropriate in a car in this class. I am aware that in Europe small engines are the norm, even in the E Class, but at least you can get a diesel that is better than the 2.0 "mouse motor". If you like cars, I'd steer clear of the 2017 E Class. Wonder what compromises MB thought they were making to make this engine mandatory. One more thing, it's a gas hog also. 24 mpg rating, my E350 with 61 HP more and faster acceleration gets 23 mpg, So what benefit does the buyer get to live with a new E class that's noisier and slower than the outgoing model? One mpg! Not a good trade off in my opinion.

Noisy and transmission issue

Cabin has too much engine noise, especially during acceleration. Transmission has 9 gears. When gear changes due going up or down hill you can feel the gear change and sometmes the car jerks.
