Used 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Sedan Consumer Reviews
Great car
Overall a fantastic car! The ride is smooth, yet without the disconnected feel. Whatever you do, get vented seats! Navigation kinda dumb sometimes when it comes to choosing the best route. Love the multi-language option. Engine is powerful enough. 7 speed transmission is a disaster. Downshift takes too much time, you really need to floor it to get "instant" shift. I'm used to driving a stick, automatic has always been a drag for me. Gas mileage stinks. I get about 20 avg reading on the highway, vs. advertised 27. Breaks work brilliantly. Sound system has a weird frequency response curve, the louder you make it, the less highs you hear, and the mid sticks out like a sore thumb. Fast!
My E350
This car exceeds my expectations for comfort, performance, and reliability. The 7 speed auto provides great power at any rpm. The 6 cyl engine provides great fuel economy. The car has that solid German feel while remaining comfortable. I especially like the semi active suspension with its three settings. I feel safe when i'm driving this car.

E350 is beyond comparison!
It may sound cliche (and downright corney) but the new Mercedes E350 *IS* the most comfortable, well-built and safety minded car in its class. I have owned a BMW 325 and an Infinity I-class and this vehicle blows away the competition. The ride cannot be described. Quiet, fast when required and a feeling of complete safety. The vehicle is very responsive without feeling mushy like many of the Japanese competitors. Try one!
Great Package
This new engine combined with the new 7- speed auto tranny provides brisk performance at any speed. The new tranny seem to be in the right gear at all times and pulls away without hesitation. Roomy and comfortable for long drives too. The layout of the speedo, tach and clock is a bit strange since you find yourself looking at the clock when you want the tach. There is also too much information in the middle part of the speedometer without any logical corollation. The NAV system is vastly improved and highly useful. This is our 7th Mercedes-Benz and so far so good.
Tough choice
Coming off a 2002 BMW530i, looking at BMW 530ix, Audi A6, and MB 3504M. Tough call. But the BMW was pricey and had awful interior controls, even after I got used to the exterior. The Audi was loaded with features and good looking but a mushy drive. I hesitated for months, finally settling on the MB. Drove it in a big snow yesterday. I have to say I would get another in a heartbeat. Classic look, great interior, wonderful drive. The drive is not as crisp as my BMW, but close. I enjoy the slightly more luxury feel more than I anticipated. Hey BMW, it has cup holders! If you are debating these three, go MB...
