Used 2000 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Sedan Consumer Reviews
I'm keeping it.
I just love this car. Smooth ride, quiet, great on ice and snow, and very quick. No mechanical problems besides ordinary maintainence.
Not Good
The overall handling of the car is sloppy. The acceleration is slow. The cupholders are so shallow they hardly hold anything. The moment I turned, my drinks went flying. What were they thinking when they designed those cupholders? The battery is located under the back right passenger seat. That's a bad design because batteries can leak overtime and that's not safe. You could combat this by getting an acid leak resistant battery from Mercedes but that's more expensive and harder to find. It's just an overall poorly designed car.

Excellent Car
My husband purchased this car last year and has been perfect from day one. Drives like a dream. Two months later, we purchased the M-Class for me. His and her's Mercedes!
Great Reliable Car
We wanted new technology so bought a 2016 MB E350. Car received regular maintenance at MBI in Portland, OR (Kevin). Records available. New front brakes, radiator July 2016.

Lousy reliability
Car had 22000 miles and manufacturer's warranty (never wrecked, dealer serviced, full records). Can't find a better more solid feel in a midsize but the reliability is horrible. Everytime I crank it up I hope the radio works correctly. MB uses soft plastic, not hard, designed to break. Visor vanity covers break off routinely. Don't pull on seat backs, they will break off in your hand. Catalytic converter broke. Key system is horrible, locks are stiff and keys are skinny. Will buy American made Lincoln next time.
