Used 1999 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Sedan Consumer Reviews
1999 M/B E320AWD
great, solid m/b feel. wonderful steering, brakes, ride. respectable fuel economy. spectacular turning radius. cute compartment under phone to keep food/drink hot or cold-- vented. phone difficult to program. surprising problems with transmission at 16K miles and horn blew out. ignition switch tends to not release key.
Bad Car
I bought this car, my first Mercedes, and while driving down the road, with the family, the front drivers side coil spring came flying out. This also caused the ball joint and the tie rod to give up the ghost. Asked Mercedes for help with the bill, 1700.00 and got a resounding NO!. Seems like this should be a recall, and or Mercedes would live up to the mechanical default without me having to hire a lawyer. Won't own another, I will but something that doesn't self destruct while I'm driving down the road.

pleased
I bought used and this car has been exceptional. I love the styling, also size for for this class. It's has more legroom than comparable sedans. So far so good on repairs, at this point I would highly reccomend this model. If I had to repurchase today I would.
I expected more from a Mercedes
I have been nothing but disappointed with this car. Exterior styling is great, but inside is nothing special. I was hit with $3,000 worth of repairs 6 months after the warranty ran out (I too have had problems with power windows). We are trying to get rid of it right now and trade value is not good. We'll chalk this one up to a very expensive "lesson learned" and will never own another Mercedes again.
Made on a Friday afternoon!
When purchased new, the E320 had too many adjustments and repairs that were needed. Replaced glove box,ash tray, drink holder, front seat bolts, dead battery, computer mod, str. wheel tilt switch, and loud/rough Goodyear tires from MB. This is not normal for MB to have this many problems. NOW, re-sale trade-in/value does not come up to what is owed on the MB Credit Corp. 4 year note. TIme to trade.
