2019 McLaren 570S Review

Part of McLaren's Sport Series lineup, the 570S combines a powerful turbocharged 3.8-liter V8 engine, carbon-fiber construction and a comfortable interior to create McLaren's idea of a (relatively) affordable everyday supercar. McLaren has gone to great lengths to ensure the 570S is both easy to drive and devastatingly fast on all manner of roads or a racetrack.

With regards to its performance, we cannot fault the 570S. Acceleration from its mid-mounted 562-horsepower engine is breathtaking, and you'll likely reach your own handling limits before you reach the ones engineered into the McLaren. As for its ease of use, it does offer good visibility but we think the portrait-oriented 7-inch touchscreen could do with a considerable redesign since it's not very intuitive.

Competitors abound, but the main ones are Lamborghini's Huracan, Porsche's 911 Turbo S and Audi's R8. All three of these supercars have their own blend of performance, theatrics and practicality. Should you like the look of the 570 but want even more performance, the McLaren 600LT is the next rung up the automaker's performance ladder.
