What a ride!
What a great car...80% of the money I've dumped into this car has been upgrades (performance and aesthetic modifications) and the only repairs I "HAD" to make were a torn CV boot and a timing belt job when I bought the car as well as the infamous failing distributor ($100) Everything else has been voluntary tune-up and modification jobs.
1994 mazda mx-6 2dr ls coupe
This was my first car, and I absolutely loved it!. Never had any mechanical problems. Excellent gas mileage. Light and quick and amazing handing. The only car I never had any problems with. I had put 18 in falcon hanabi rims with low profile tires that matched the interior and the trim.
My Mazda
It is an extremely reliable car (have made several cross-country trips in it), and it performs as if it has a few more cylinders than it actually does... if you're thinkin' about gettin' an MX- 6, I would strongly encourage ya.. you won't regret it! :~)
I cried at her Funeral!
I had dreamed of getting this car long before I purchased it. I was attracted by its looks, and was pleasantly surprised by its performance and reliability. After reading several other reviews, I realize was lucky that I didn't have the leaky A/C or peeling paint problems that other owners had. The extent of my maintenance obligations were an oil change every 3K miles. I did have to replace the CV boots, but luckily, I only paid for that once since the first replacement was under warranty. Unfortunately, she was totaled when she got T-boned in the spring of '03. She gave her life for mine*sniff, sniff* as I walked away unscathed. I haven't owned a car with such classic style since. MX-6s rule!
Green Machine
I purchased this car new (loaded) in 94 and have been very pleased with the performance and reliability of the car. I have never spent much on the car except for a leak with the water pump which caused the electric control box to short out, it was a $500 repair. I plan on keeping it another 3 or 4 years.
