Zoom-zoom refinement at a bargain price
Picked up a 2011 black 6 six-speed during a year-end dealer blow-out. At a price less than a new 3, I am very happy with this vehicle vs the '08 3-touring that I traded. At 1200 miles, engine is starting to loosen up a bit and fuel economy ranges from 29-35 mpg; might still improve. The aerodynamics of this design are amazing .... on moderate downhill stretches it just rolls. As an old stick-shifter, this is an amazingly slick transmission! Get one before the bean counters decide there are not enough customers. In my opinion, nothing in this price range comes close to the value.
Love love love
Absolutely would but again. At 100,000 miles I haven’t spent more than $250 on repairs. One headlight socket needed to be replaced and the tailpipe bracket came loose. It runs and accelerates like the day I bought it.

Fun and practical
Honestly I was looking for a 3 but with all the incentives the 6 was a better deal. I like the looks, comfort and driving dynamics. The interior is comfortable and ergonomic. I love the 6M tranny, shifts easily and the clutch is pretty much perfect. My son keeps asking to borrow the keys and take it out (he's learning to drive a stick). So far so good.
I finally got the mazda I always wanted.
It is a great car. The door lock mysteriously disappeared had drained the battery was a recall and cost me nothing. The only maintenance on the car is brakes and oil changes. It does not break down and drives great on the highway. I will upgrade in 2019 for an SUV. I just need more cargo space now.

Love Love Love! Hands down! On my third Mazda!
This is my second Mazda6. Previously, I had the 2009 Mazda6 iGrand Touring and an RX-8. Great build qualities on Mazda and reliability! I'm pretty much a Mazda family. Currently, I have the 2013 Mazda6 but built in 2012. My thoughts about this car is more than what I expected. The 2009-2013 are the best looking and best handling cars I've ever owned! I get compliments here and there and I am so proud of having this car. The style and characteristics of this car is different from Toyota, Honda, Hyundai.. etc. Some will nag that the 4cyl 170hp isn't the best but other car makers that have 4cyl don't have the much either so I cant complain. I take it easy on my car because I don't need to stress the car out plus it'll last long. The gas mileage is phenomenal it isn't close to 40mpg however if you take it easy it'll go far plus driving any car hard tends to bring down reliability and bad gas mileage. You can feel how solid when you drive it and take turns. It feels like your driving a higher end luxury/sports sedan without paying the over priced luxo-mobile brands. On the highway, the handling is smooth and controlled. On the city it is the same. I have the 18inch wheels stock and you can hear a bit of road noise but that's standard on bigger wheels and low profile tires. This car cabin is spacious and rear seating and trunk is huge! The I touring plus or grand touring models.. the gauges are beautiful in color and they are easy to read. The stock stereo sounds great too. It had aux/Bluetooth but no USB which isn't a big deal. Overall, I love the car and I'm happy with it. I get head turns and I feel safe in it.

Best Value in a Sporty Sedan
We all know that Mazda got a deal on Black, Gray and Silver paint but that's OK. For the price of Mazda 3 where else can you find a car that's fun to drive, handles better than the competition, has great seats, is relatively quiet inside (windows up) and has a huge trunk. Very important (to me) ... this is not a "Skyactiv" engine but the 2.5 4-cyl averages 30 mpg in mixed driving; with a clutch, you can coast up to traffic lights. Alas, it is not a drag-racer but will keep up with normal traffic. Engine will come on strong over 3K RPM but fuel mileage will suffer. At 10K miles on the clock, no mechanical or electrical issues. A well-built machine. Highly recommended.

So far so good - status update
I purchased a preowned vehicle in April 2011. I have put about 14,000 miles on in to date (purchased at approx. 11,600 miles). No major repairs to date. Vehicle is reasonably comfortable, convenient controls on stirring wheel and dashboard. So far, routine maintenance has been performed, car has been reasonably comfortable with no major problems.
Loved it so much bought it twice
Everything I ever wanted! I can even fit my mt. bike and kayak inside it at the same time. Heated seats are a must! I wrecked last yr and as it did shatter the passenger tire, I could still open the passenger door.. very safe. Noticed both mine are not as tight in turning left at high speeds but I speed every where. Great inside, had one with navi and one with backup camera both great! Engine runs so sweet. No problems. My 2009 had issues with the blindside monitor, info, & traction control box when it was too cold. Imagine a fuse or wiring problem but my 2011 no problems ever! If I could keep buying this car with less miles, as I drive tons, I'd be an owner for life.

Best car I've ever owned, balanced, agile car
Purchased used in 2012 with 37k miles, prev rental car, but I never had a single issue with the car in 7 years and 93k miles I put in. Too bad the car was totalled by another driver this year. While not the fastest car in the midsize segment, the Mazda 6 is very agile and enjoyable to drive. It doesn't feel like a heavy car. I had the standard 4 cyl engine and everything was very reliable. Only routine maintenance. It's not as quiet at highway speeds as a Camry or accord but you can add sound deadening material. Would buy a Mazda 6 again!

Love my Mazda6!
this is the third mazda i have owned ('96 protege, '03 6s) and i have loved all three of them. the new 6 adds some beef under the hood, and some very nifty tech features. the car is truly fun to drive and beats any comp in the class handily. i previously didnt think much of the new 6 as i have always been a fan of the older body style. but when i got in and drove it, i fell in love! before i bought my 6, i looked at the g35, a4, c280, and some others, but you just cant beat the value in a mazda. i got more room, more features, more/same warranty; basically, a brand new luxury/sports car for the price of a used luxury car. mazda loyalty programs added to the bottom line, also.
FUN TO DRIVE!!!
I've had so many cars and I can say for sure that: if you're looking for a mid-size sedan for a good price, fun to drive, comfortable and sporty looking, don't look any further, the Mazda6 is the answer!
Reliable, No-Frills Daily Ride
Bought a 2012 in 2014 with 50K miles and as a salesperson who drives all day, it's now at 97K miles and still going strong with only a battery, tires and brakes as any repairs ever needing to be done. It's been there for me on long cross-country drives with no support for a break down, as well as the day-to-day city stop and go driving I used to do several times in a single day. What I hated the most was the fact that the small things gave out very quickly, like within only a few years of owning it. Such failures included the keys/power locks (never repaired - nobody's gonna steal this anyway), trunk latch, interior lights and radio (which was just a fuse), rear view mirror broke from the windshield glass and the air conditioner motor is going out but has been able to be restarted by banging on the glove compartment for the past two years. To be honest, I never really took care of it, nor gotten the recommended maintenance besides the scheduled oil changes. It has a nice spacious interior, great factory sound system and a wide clear view of the road with minimal blind spots. It is a sluggish car with slow acceleration, but I did not buy it for the performance. I am going to miss this old, reliable car but the transmission has been acting up as of late. I traded up for the BMW M series I can finally afford, and the fact that I don't really want to be associated with the Mom image (no offense). Otherwise I would honestly keep it forever. I was back in the situation that I was when I originally bought it I would have definitely bought it all over again. If it were not for missing the 60K tranny flush and all the hard driving I have done with it, I think the transmission would be fine. Definitely a smart buy, and I will will miss this old gal. If you need simple, reliable and a good amount of room this is the ride for you.

Still in love
I have owned my Mazda 6 for six years. I bought it when it had 12,000 miles on it. As of this writing, I have 156,000. I had one major repair of the transmission that cost $900. I'm about to get the driver's side automatic door locks fixed too. Besides that, only normal maintenance and upkeep. My only gripe about the design is that you have to remove the front tires in order to change the headlight. I'm not kidding and they go out frequently. I got used to it though. It is the best car I've ever owned. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

On the Fence about Mazda
I needed a comfortable, safe, reliable car to do A LOT of driving in. This car has been perfect for that. Unfortunately, I've had to sacrifice a few things. The mileage has never been great, and has worsened over the years. I'm currently getting 18 mpg with mixed city and freeway. I used to get anywhere from 20 to 28mpg when the car was new. The quality of the interior dashboard buttons and steering wheel labels is terrible. Dashboard buttons were sticking in the first year of ownership and the dealership could do nothing about it. The painted labels on the steering wheel (radio controls, etc.) and the paint throughout the console of the steering wheel have been slowly rubbing off from the first year. The trunk release button on the dash works infrequently, another issue under warranty that the dealership could do nothing about. I've always kept my car clean and maintained properly, but now I'm spending a small fortune on fuel and the steering console looks like it got in a fight with a clawed animal. This vehicle is 5 years old and has about 93,000 miles on it. It has been very reliable with no major repair issues. I'm just going to think twice before I purchase another Mazda due to the issues I mentioned.

Be careful with this one....
This is my first time owning any mazda and for the most part I can say it is OK. I own the Touring Plus model with a few extra features. First thing I must say is the car is very slow and the 4 cyl seems lousy and sluggish. It is a very loud engine for not being that fast... The extorior styling is beautiful. I love the trunk, even though fitting some larger boxes through the small opening can be difficult. Since the day I owned the car, the radio has been very staticy and even when close to local radio stations. Tried to take it back and get repaired and they said it was fine, which it is not. Heritage Mazda of Towson has bad service and is pretty expenisve. Prefer the Camry SE over this...
My Zoom Zoom
Been a great car.... Low maintenance cost.. Sporty handeling...Gas mileage could be better..

Excellent Car! Extremely Reliable! Very few flaws
The most reliable car I've ever owned. Bought 5 years ago with 114,000 on the clock. Now has 184500. Amazed at no real surprise expenses, very little money in repairs spent. Starts & runs all day long without any issue 99% of the time. The one time it didn't, is from the Neg battery cable corroded. I just patched a new one lower where copper wire was still solid. Just now at this point, I need to replace the plug going into the headlight bulb. Bulb isn't the issue.(Read up on this, this is the worst design flaw in these years of 6's but not enough of a deterrent to not buy one IMO. Another oxygen sensor & another engine mount to do. $100 in parts, can do myself easily. I wish it got better gas mileage for a 4cyl, or had more power(just170hp).Stuck between either. The sport shift mode is reliable(along with the transmission entirely) to wind the RPM's quickly. I wish it had a softer ride as I get to my late 30s. Putting on good Bilstein German rear shocks(super easy to do) and Michelin Defender $800 tires helped the ride out a fair bit). The trade off with the ride is the tight handling, cornering, steering. The power steering rack very slowly leaks once or twice year add some fluid. No big deal. The seats aren't uncomfortable, but I wish they had a little more "give" esp on long trips. The back seat folds entirely flat, came in handy for a bed(couldn't find a hotel w/vacancy once) The 09-10's have a softer, more microsuede like material also, not sure why they went tougher stuff for 11' on. Cheaper I guess. Sensibly laid out interior with switches & logical controls. I replaced the valve cover gasket recently, with ease. Just normal wear items like brakes, oil changes, nothing surprising or requiring immediate attention thus far. These have a timing chain, lasts the life of the engine apparently. not a belt like Honda's & Toyotas that @100, 200 miles that can cost $1,000-$1,500. This car costs thousands less that a Civic, Accord, Camry, etc. Not all years of those are always necessary reliable. Check carcomplaints.com for good research info. Great styling, especially from the front, stands out in the pack of lame, boring looking sedans.

Drive this before buying Camry
To be honest I purchased this over Camry for the cost savings (big discounts) but after driving it for a few days I know I made the right choice. The driving dynamics are vastly superior without giving up anything with regard to comfort. Build quality and refinement are outstanding. If anything it feels tighter and more refined than Camry.
Great for commutes, but not fun
if you can look at other cars or this one only if it has a V6. As the 4cyl sucks on acceleration and pick-up but for start and go tracfic it fine because your not going to get any where fast. You also must rev it very high to get full advantage of its 168 horse power.

The car for tall people.
I'm 6'5 and finding a comfortable car without breaking the bank is quite a feat. But here it is, the Mazda6. Plenty of room, great price and the the Mazda6 is a blast to drive! It hugs the corners and accelerates quickly for entering the freeway. Telescoping steering wheel and height adjusting seat makes it a very comfortable ride for long trips and the way the windows are designed, one really gets a beautiful, unobstructed veiw of the outside world. I gave it a 4 in the performance because it's a bit sluggish starting off at a light but makes it up once out of 1st gear.
I kind of miss my Mazfa 6
I owned this car for about 20 months and I miss the sporty 4 door sedan. Overall was a nice car and reliable in the AZ heat.
Mazda 6 is a lemon
This is the worst car I have ever purchased. I never knew when the engine would turn over. Countless times I had to call road service, and the service dept. said everything was fine. You want your car to be reliable, and this was a piece of - - - -. I wanted to return it, but of course the dealership, Ralph Thayer of Livonia Michigan, would not allow it. In addtion, a minor detail is that the cup holder was not deep enough to hold a mug of coffee, so I always has to hold it while driving. I doubt this car even got 19 MPH. It cost me a small fortune filling up with gas every other day. My lease is up in 2 months, and I can hardly wait. Do yourself the biggest favor in the world and consider
Most dangerous car I have every owned
I purchased this car 8 months, 18.000 miles, and $28,000 ago. I thought I did my research, I test drove Acura, Nissan, Ford, and Mazda models. I read the reviews for each. The good things I found are correct; it is very stylish, comfortable, and good performance. The items they don't tell you are; The BLIGHTSPOT, that you have behind you, the headrest and A pillar's make it so you can't see anything, VERY dangerous, you might as well paint the back windows black. And if you pull out of a drive and his "ANY" bumps the traction control kicks in and kills the acceleration and leaves you in the oncoming lane waiting for traffic to hit you. If you have a family this in NOT the car for you.
Manual transmission survives
This car has got the look. To my eye, this is the most elegantly understated car on the road. Interior is huge. Comfortable and sporty ride. That said, this is not a genuine sports car. The acceleration is adequate but not stunning. V6 with manual would have been my choice; would have put more zoom in the zoom-zoom. Dash radio controls are easy and intuitive so I rarely use the steering wheel controls. I like the seat fabric. Seat is comfortable but back has a "V" shape side to side; I'm not sure how that will feel on long trips. 30mpg so far. Owned 2 months, 1700 miles.
Zoom Zoom!!
It is a great car for someone with a family and it also great for the single person. I have had mine for 1 month and I am 100% happy with the car. I only wish the V6 motor had a little more power behind it! I think the car shifts way too early which cuts down on the horsepower. My previous cars were 2.0 and this is a 3.7 and I am confident is saying the 2.0 was much quicker off the line. The gas mileage is taking some getting used too. I am averaging 23.5 miles both highway and city.
Not a family car
There are a few pros to this car however it doesn't function well as a family car. The latch system was too far into the seat which made uninstall difficult. The driver seat even though adjustable, just wasn't comfortable enough.
