3rd review--'07 sedan 5 speed 4 cyl

I've had my cherry red mazda6 for 2.5 years now, with 30,500 on odometer. It's been great; still fun to drive, no major mechanical or build issues (I did get the steering clunking noise fixed according to the factory service bulletin), and it still seems to be the best sedan in this price range for someone who likes to drive--not just get from point A to point B. My lease is up in September; I'd buy it then, but I'd rather have the hatchback version, so I'm actively looking for a hatchback with a manual tranny, 6 or 4 cyl engine, and a few more options than my car has, like fog lights, mooonroof and spoiler. I just can't get real excited about any of the new cars on market now.

Great Car, Limited Features

This Car was my first "newer" car.Its looks were just amazing. It was sporty yet family friendly. As I have drove the car for the past year i've noticed that it has few features compared to a competition car such as a AUX port and automatic lights. It has also been having popping noise like a motor mount is went out. Its a great comfy car but it seems maybe it needed a little more built into it!

Fun car to drive, looks cute, sporty handling, however seats squeak horribly since day one, paint chips and scratches easily, interior doesn't hold up well-seats and dash trim, gas mileage- max 28mpg hwy driving no more than 65 mph. (would love to know how others are getting 30 mpg +, as they say they are! Don't think its possible, not even using cruise control) Have already replaced catalytic converter and rear main seal at 30,000.Heater has rattling noise that no one can seem to figure out what it is.Has alot of road noise.Would rather own another accord or camry for sure. This car is more comparable with a corolla or civic. Not as impressed with it as salesman was.

Great car except for the gas mileage

Love the styling and the performance (mainly handling), but can't say we're a big fan of the gas mileage. My wife drives the car almost exclusively to work, which is a ~32 mile roundtrip of 90% highway miles, and we're averaging 25mpg (tires properly inflated, oil changed, air filter changed) on our 36,000 mile Mazda6. The styling is great and it performed well in the snow, which reminds me of one other negative: this car is not meant for snow chains AT ALL. There is almost no clearance between the control arms and the actual tire, so you get A LOT of vibration even at low speed with snow chains. On top of that, the alloy wheels were scratched by the plastic chain connectors.

Bought this car new to replace my '99 Altima. Much better looking, great handling and brakes, very comfortable and good MPG Engine not very responsive and not much torque, need to keep RPM high to get any power. Had to take it to dealer a couple of times, now it's knocking in front end, so build quality does not match Nissan. High engine RPM at highway speed, needs 6th gear, that would improve mileage as well; I get about 30 MPG in mixed driving and a bit over that on highway. But otherwise reliable and fun to drive
