Not a wagon for wimps
This is close to a sports car for young families or 4 adults. The Teutonic suspension is stiff, seats are hard, the ride is firm-to-harsh. The steering is precise, very sensitive to input, and has good road feel. A blast to corner, flat and adhesive. Acceleration spirited once the engine winds up. The auto/manual shifter is no substitute for the real thing: too much automatic (with various lags, limits, and early upshifts) and too little manual encourages pussy-footing. Tunnel vision to the rear. Compared to other wagons this could be a 10 (7 for cargo space). Don't know yet if improves on mediocre reliability of previous 626 model.
70 international awards plus my review
With the perfect blend between Japanese technology and european design, the Mazda 6 is one of the best buys around. Mazda does a great job of giving you a ton of car for the money. If you consider the fun to drive factor and ride and handling, Mazda is the clear cut winner.

I bought this car to replace a Miata lost to Katrina. I absolutely love it! This is my 11th Mazda. Have only had to do oil and other fluid changes, and put a set of tires on it at 50K. I swapped the noisy Michelins for Riken Raptors and it handles as if on rails. I use it to haul my kayaks, and it performs well loaded down with two 14 foot ocean kayaks
awesome car
What a great vehicle! A sport wagon that is fun to drive, sporty and thousands less than anything else like it! I love this car! Go drive one and see for yourself! Surprising cargo room.
Mazda 6 s Sport Wagon/5-spd
After two months of research, I'm pleased with my choice. The 5-spd was hard to find, but definitely the way to go - as long as you don't sit in traffic. Engine is smooth and features are abundant. Only complaints are a bolt, or something, rolling around in the console when I turn and a loose hook for the cargo barrier. Overall great value and would recommend to anyone looking for something practical yet sporty.
