Drives like a Rolls Royce, maintains like a Toyota

My 1994 LS400 has just 156k on the ODO yet it drives like its brand new. The ride comfort beats a 95’ Mercedes E320, 06’ Acura RDX, 07’ Honda Accord, and is comparable if not smoother than a fully loaded 2012 Range Rover. Smooth roads feel like your hovering, rough roads feel smooth, and broken roads have a slight few bumps to them...the ride comfort on this vehicle is one of the best on the market. I’ve read that ppl have preferred this over a 2000 Mercedes Benz and countless Cadillacs. The shift points are hard if not impossible to notice, the steering is buttery smooth, and the acceleration is instant for a heavy 90s sedan. If you want to drive a Rolls Royce but won’t ever have a chance like most ppl...get this car, it is the closest thing you’ll get to it for less than 5-10k, hands down.

ENJOY IT FOREVER!

I bought my LS400 in april of 2004. I got a great deal on it because they didn't want to fix a/c display that went out, which is pretty coslty and common failure on these cars that occurs after years. I heard from my friend technician that there are a few Ls400s still running strong around 500k miles particularly in California! And as for the maintenance those Ls400s can last on the original timing belt at 200k miles and still run as if it was brand new. Nevertheless above, I don't encourage those Ls400s owners to neglect their machines and try it.

Great Value

Bought a 93 LS 400 used with 40,000 miles. It now has 318,000 miles. Unfortunately, last week I hit a deer, so technically the car is totaled, even though it is very driveable. No work other than scheduled maint on drive train! Still has original complete exhaust system - no new tailpipe, muffler, etc. Had I not hit a deer, I expected to clear 400,000 in a few years! Fantastic car!!

"One of the best cars ever made!"

This is the best car I have ever owned. The build quality and reliability of the LS400 are unmatched. It does not have the best acceleration in it's class due to the weight of the vehicle, but it's a luxury car. My friends always comment on how nice the car is and the price I bought it for. I want to run the car 'till it dies... which will be a long time.

And I almost sold it.

To think I almost sold it. The dealership told me the engine was just getting broken in at 150k miles. I went to test drive other new vehicles and returned disappointed and confirmed. I wasn't selling. It drives phenomenally, comfortably, always the same. You just feel good in it. New cars barely offer the amenities that I have in this car (new Lexus aside).
