Ladies and Gentlemen, Like me you have read every review in the small mid size SUV category and having trouble deciding. I am so glad I chose the new Sorento. I have owned BMW, lexus, GMC. Mercedes and a range rover and this is the best car I have owned. The engine is like a Lexus, effortless from stop or in traffic. I have driven 15K miles in 6 months and besides a bad shock which was replaced in 24 hrs at no charge the car has been perfect. MPG is about 21 average with mostly city driving. The handling is like a BMW, gripes the road with no roll felt. BUY THIS CAR! Got a basic V6 for 23K, very happy.

This is a $50,000 MDX for $32,000. I love this vehicle. I have had it about 7 weeks and put about 1000 miles on it. i love everything about it. the complete package and 10 years 100,000 mile bumper to bumper for an extra 1300 is amazing. How can I go wrong? Handles like a car. Absolutely flies and is quiet as any car I have ever been in. Everyone I show it to is amazed with Kia.

Test drove a lot of the competitors and felt this was the best value for its class. I have an automotive background and initially I looked down on the KIA. After test driving, I've changed my views. The 6 cyl is a must. Like the design and currently have zero issues. My previous two FORDS had a list started of warranty work for the same time period. Waiting for snow to see how the AWD system will compare to our Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have the white pearl exterior, black interior. Looks great when it's detailed.

We've owned the Sorento for about a month now and we love it! We got the premium and limited package so it has all of the bells and whistles. I can't beleive how much car we got for our money. They are selling these vehicles way to cheap. In the end nothing could even compare to the value and styling both interior and exterior or the Sorento. I would highly recommend this vehicle to anyone in the market for a new small size SUV.

I was looking for smaller SUV/cuv and did test drive several different brand in three months period but then accidentally stop by Kia dealership and spotted 2011 sorento and just fell in love with the design and interior features and the price. I traded in my 4runner and bought my sorento a month ago and it drives like a champ and with all these features like bluetooth, double sunroofs, Sirius radio, backup camera heated front seat etc, I've been driving Toyota for 9years they are too spoiled, customer service bad. So, anyone out there looking for smaller SUV, you should definitely stop by Kia dealership and test drive sorento 2011 and check it out. And it's made in usa. You can't go wrong with Kia

My husband & I are madly in love w/ this vehicle! We looked for 6 mths before we were ready to purchase & it was between the sorento, equinox & hyundi tuscon(santa fe is actually same sz as sorento but starting price much higher)The standard features w/ the sorento are bar none. And safty features sold me. I was really worried about going from a v6 to a 4, but it wasnt as big a change as i thought it would be. a couple minor negatives: mp3 transmitter is almost worthless, (it worked fine in my escape), Bluetooth chic rarely understands call- name requests, & we are pretty disappointed in the gas milage, which is entire reason we downgraded to a 4 cylinder.

Initially, we never considered a Sorento, but the new 2011 proved to be a pleasant surprise. We needed space for cargo and carrying the grandchildren. AWD was a requirement due to rural roads. The 3rd row seats were the best we saw within our price range and the ride exceeded our expectations in this price class. All in all, I would consider this vehicle as best in class. I hope it as dependable as it feels.

I'm a Toyota guy for the past ten years, I owned three different Toyotas, Camry, 2 4runner, but let me tell what Kia sorento totally blown me away with it's looks and performance. I traded in my 4runner and got Sorento 2011, it was smart move because Toyota dealership was too spoiled and very bad customer service. I'm very pleased with my Kia sorento 2011 purchase, I got sorento v6 ex awd, and it has all the goodies and I'm loving it. I would highly recommend sorento 2011 for all those new car buyers, you should check it out and test drive. You'll definitely fall in love with it. And it's make in usa. You go sorento.

My wife and I love our new car and love the features as well. The one thing that caught our attention sre the door locks. Being previous Honda owners, we are used to the door NOT unlocking while in the car. In the KIA you can pull the lever and the door opens. I have not seen any of the editors or others comment on this.

Bought the EX-V6 AWD in June so far have 3800 trouble free enjoyable miles on it. Been on a couple day trips with the vehicle and have loved the ride, the mileage and value. We avg 25.7 mpg on 70-72 mph interstate driving and 27.5 at 55- 60mph. Fun to drive and has many great features. No problems with the Sorento what so ever. I'd always opt for the V6.

We love the KIA, the look and warranty is what got me interested.I had looked at the HIGHLANDER and ARCADIA.The wife (since she drives it more) feels more comfortable in the KIA compared to the ARCADIA and we like the body style and looks better than the HIGHLANDER along the warranty and price the KIA won. PROBLEM, within 2 months bad shock and rear tire was faulty, I had to pay for the tire since the manufacturer has no warranty. nether were on the dealer shelf so that meant extra trip to the dealer and vehicle downtime. We were told that the spare tire was full size, wrong it is a donut, 55 mile per hour made the trips to the dealer longer.had to order the cargo cover, not what the salesman said

We've had five Kias in my family and our new 2011 is the latest. Nothing compares to the value and quality of this vehicle. The standard ABS, Stability and Traction control, the six speed A/T and the power of the 175 HP 4cyl engine, make it an even a better value! The standard roadside assistance (5yr/60k) make it a great choice for my wife to drive...

Like any 1st year new model, things go wrong. Took in to dealer to check on "soft brake pedal". If I pumped it (which should not be done to ABS system) it would be firmer. Well, it turns out needs new master cylinder! Never heard of one going bad on a new car! Dealer has to order. The sun roof chatters going back. Had grease put on at last service. Still does it. May need new rails! Headlight beams set too low. Needs adjustment. Steering wheel seems not level. Car drifts to the right with hands off wheel. Hope 4 wheel adjustment fixes it. Kia customer service has been great! Wheel adjustment normally is not under warranty. But I won't be charged. See my 9-24-2010 comments about our rating.

To be fair, I'va had the car for 3 days. Did lots of research before buying and was very impressed with this car. I've had minivans for the past 20 years so this was the first itme in a while that I have been able to actually buy the vehicle I wanted. So far it has met all my expectations; handles great, quiet on the HWY, 25 mpg with only 200 miles on it. Got the 4 cyl FWD drive and it is a great combination of price and performance. I will be back once I've had the car for a while to update this review but so far very impressed.

Never buy 1st year model! The latest on my Kia is the master cylinder went bad. Always had a "soft" brake pedal. Took it in to be checked. Needed a new master cylinder. Had to order new one. Dealer "fixed it"? two days later. Next morning pedal almost went to floor! Back to dealer. I didn't find ant TSB on a problem w/brakes. Won't get back for three days! Also problem w/pulling to right. Mechanic cross rotated tires to fix problem. Said was "radial pull". I already had tires rotated at last service. Didn't help. Haven't driven it much since brake problem, so can't verify if fixed. So what is the big deal on the warranty if you have to continue bringing it to dealer for repairs!

I purchased my 2011 4 cyl Sorento in March 2010 (With Premium 1 and Limited) and normally experience 29-32 MPG on the highway. City driving is around 25- 27. I have 5,500 miles now and very pleased with the MPG. I have been a loyal Honda customer, but they were not willing to consider negotiating on the new Crosstour. I'm very pleased with the Sorento thus far.

I've never driven an SUV before but needed a new car as my old SAAB of 10 years wasn't up to par. I live on the top of a steep New England hill & spent 3 nights last year during winter storms at work or at another's house because I couldn't get home up that hill. With this Kia I KNOW I'll have NO problem whatsoever in the future. It's just the car I needed & wanted. Luxury interior features that were in the SAAB & some new ones to boot along with the standard AWD and 4x4 option also! Where else would you find that! The topper for me was the Made In USA! Glad I can help myself and the economy! Everyone that sees it is in awe right now. Double takes from people on the street! LOL

Find the L-4 engine very competent in this vehicle coupled with Kia's 6 speed auto. Just completed first 800 miles (mostly hwy)averaging 25.8 mpg while pushing/testing vehicle during highway driving through mountains and expressway driving in TN and KY. Delighted with lack of engine noise and strain during shift down while going through mountains on cruise control at 70 mph. Pleased with my purchase price and overall quality and performance. This is the 7th SUV vehicle I have owned during the past 25 years and may be the best.

Have 4500 miles on my 2011 Sorento and just barely still have the fillings in my teeth. Over city streets it feels like the suspension is going to fail. I've contacted Kia. many times and their answer is that a fix hasn't been issued yet for the suspension. I guess they will wait long enough for me to get upset enough and sell the car then their off the hook. The car has a lot of nice features but driving city streets everyday comfortably isn't one of them. If you experience the same problem contact Kia and complain.

This is our first Kia. We have been a Ford and Dodge only family. Since the Sorento is USA made I felt better about the branding issue. This new Sorento 2011 is really different and superior than the 2009, which we compared side by side. Kia skipped 2010 production. This car is a crossover and compares to the Ford Flex and Rav4. The big difference is price, about 30% more bang with Kia. Read the Edmunds review about the Kia 2011 Sorento, it is similar to my opinion. Smaller engine power was not enough to keep me from buying, and hope to get 24 Average mpg. We bought the LX with convienience package. Be sure to check KIA web site for special offers, they have many special offers.

We have driven our LX v6 Sorento for 2 months now. It averages about 19 mpg in regular driving and 21 on the highway, lower than expected. The car is well thought out and has great style. The front suspension is louder than my old drum set when going over even the smallest bumps, this needs to be recalled for this reason.Kia knows it is a problem since the new SX uses a different suspension system. Kia think of us and offer a fix to the LX suspension. Other than that a nice SUV.

Compared with many other brand, such as Hyundai, Chevrolet, GMC, Lexus, Acura, Honda, Toyota this is the best deal with touch screen navigation radio sound system package. It will be perfect if the trunk space is 2 inches longer than it is now. Blue tooth is great for cell phone. This car should come with at least one memory button for the driver side and step up bar should be standard with both sides. Ride and handling are great so far. This 2011 sorento is a great choice for personal and/or family use. Great!

I was impressed with the way the car handled and the comfortable ride. Also it was very quiet compared to my Ford Escape. I'm satisfied with everything about the car so far. I've had it 5 months and driven 5000 miles. The rear sensors and rear camera are very convenient for people that may have a problem turning to check what's behind them. Very nice vehicle. Purchased this vehicle to replace 06, V8 Explorer. Needed equivalent room for salesman's samples. First impression was good build quality. Standard complaints. Torque steer is manageable if you stay off the full throttle. Brakes are firm, so are the seats. You are not coddled in these chairs, they are stiff. Sorento leans in the twisties more than expected since the ride is jarring with suspension set up. This vehicle rides like a ford Ranger pick up. Don't expect suppleness in the suspension when encountering rough pavement. it's not there. The nav system works fine but the voice recognition system is awful. Do I need to speak Korean? We will see how this goes after more than 500 miles

I traded from a Nissan Pathfinder. I love the ride and gas mileage (23mpg) on average. The bluetooth is unreliable for voice recognition. I have yet to be successful with downloading my I-Pod. It says "USB" empty. I had one experience while backing down a hill in reverse, after breaking, the vehicle acted as though it was in park, but would not accelerate. After several attempts at reverse I put it in drive, drove back up the hill, then it would go into reverse. Not sure what this issue is. I plan to contact service tomorrow. I have the 7 passenger vehicle. Overall I am very pleased with this vehicle.

I tried nearly all of the top 10 cross- over vehicles before purchasing the 2011 Sorento. I felt that the Sorento was by far the best overall value for the money and I still feel the same way after driving it for 3 months. I got the V6 EX AWD pretty much loaded, (NAV, voice activated controls, premium sound system, leather, ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, 3rd row seating) and to make a similarly equipped purchase from any other maker would have cost me nearly $10K more. Plenty of power, nice ride, comfortable interior, responsive handling, and very respectable mileage for a V6 AWD. Only time will test out the reliability but the best-in-class warranty should help with that

Purchased in February 2010 (in Texas), KIA Sorento broke down out of state (Ft. Bragg, NC) Thanksgiving week 2010. KIA had vehicle towed to nearest dealer - A+. KIA provided rental immediately - A+. KIA Dealership reported transmission and drive shaft would need to be replaced. (Vehicle started but would not move and made grinding noise). KIA now states "We do not have a follow back policy" meaning I'm supposed to pay for vehicle to be returned from near Ft. Bragg NC to where I reside in Texas - F. Anyone know the law? I have owned 7 KIA's including this one, you would think KIA would reward such loyalty?

I can't believe I own a Kia Sorento, but I do. It is Made in the USA (Georgia) in a brand new plant. It has good fuel economy and nice features. 3rd row seating in the event you need it. I did not want to buy a minivan and I did not want a huge American SUV. The Kia Sorento is the perfect solution, especially the price is great too. I am not a snob, but I have only owned MBZ, Porsche, Lexus, and Toyota in the past. Kia is very new for me, but so far, so good. Great value for the money. Just go buy one, don't be shy, get's better gas mileage than most vehicles in its class.

I went in to buy a Subaru Outback, but I was impressed by the styling of the Kia. So I ended up buying the Sorento. I thought I was going to get a car with fuel efficiency, but I am sadly disappointed. I am supposed to average 27 miles per gallon/highway, but am only getting 21 miles per gallon/highway. Since I drive 450 miles/week highway, it seems all I do is gas up the car. I am still impressed by the interior and exterior the car, and I love the Sirius. It's too soon to give a true evaluation of the reliability. I must honestly say I regret not buying the Subaru, because fuel economy was crucial for me.

Mileage is not what is advertised and now wish I had gotten the 6 cylinder instead of the 4. My turn-signal lever started sticking and will not turn off when the wheel is straightened after the turn. Blue Tooth problems about which apparently KIA failed to tell the dealership. My Motorola Moto will not consistently work with the KIA blue tooth. Check the phone list before you discover this. There is a list which KIA can send you to show which phones do and do not work. The list is out of date and most phones on it are NLA. I hear sounds and I am not sure if it is my vehicle or what. But finally after 3 weeks dealer located and got us our beautiful Black Cherry Sorento. Trading from a 2007 Mazda CX-9 with all the trimmings. Find the Kia a better value than all other SUV's in this class. Heated leather, Voice/touch screen navigation, Bluetooth, Ipod, 11 speaker 550w Infinity sound system, rear seat sunroof, Sirius/xm radio, rear camera with backup sensors, interior mood lighting, dual climate control. All in a fun, fresh new style. Drove 600 miles through VT mountains and averaged 22.3 mpg.

I suggest Toyota or Nissan owners to trust kia, I feel safer and it doesn't make so much noise as my last Toyota. I'm delighted about the features this car has , it's fun to drive

I purchased my Sorento March 2010 I now have 5,000 miles.. I do enjoy the vehicle except there a many rattles inside and the ride seems to be a bit harsh..not very comfortable.. The 4-cy is just adequate.. My car does not like to go up any hills/inclines.. the engine revs up to 4-5000 rpm and will not shift until I get to the top. Gas mileage is around 18mpg nothing great. Waiting to see how the AWD will be in the snow/ice. So far not overly satisfied with the vehicle.. but not the worst choice either.. I would like a better engine and better ride.

The ride is smooth. Some might complain about going over bumps, but in reality, who drives on bumps all the time? When on the freeway and going 75 mph, it is very smooth. On streets and avenues, the ride is comfortable. I have driven in BMW's X5, Lexus and the ride difference is minuscule. I'm not interested in a bunch of bells and whistles, I want a good radio, blue tooth and iPod hookup. And it has all of that. This SUV gets me from point (a) to point (b). In reality, that is all you want.

I purchased my 2011 Sorento LX back in March & LOVE IT! It is so quiet and rides so smooth. Everyone that's seen my vehicle wants one now. The look of it is nice, space is great inside (even with my 3rd row of seats) and it's just an overall great vehicle. I traded my 2007 Sorento in fort this one and don't regret it one bit! Oh and I have over 5300 miles on it already!

We bought our Sorento on Memorial Day and decided on it because we learned it is now built in the U.S. by American workers. I researched price, performance, interior & exterior quality and visited dealers of different makes and models for 3 weeks. THIS is the vehicle we returned to. It has much more accessories for your dollar than the Escape, Rav4, Equinox or Tuscon. With the 5 year bumper to bumper warranty, we couldn't say no. The interior is quality material and the outside looks great. The ride is great as well. I highly recommend this crossover/suv. KIA looks like they are going to be around for a very long time. Nice going KIA.

Great Features, But MPG Concerns

Was a little concerned about buying a car for my 15 yr old daughter not knowing the safety ratings yet, but was told by my salesperson that it was right up there with the other Kia models so I bought it. The CUV has all the features one could want and then some. From heated leather seats to the back-up camera, I did not get the nav. so that little picture in the rearview mirror can be a little distracting. I was concerned also with the MPG after the first tank only avg'd 19 mpg on a 4 cyl but was told after calling the dealership that it would improve with more miles (god I hope so)I drive between 55 and 60 mph with very little city driving all the time. It drives very good and no rattles.

Just bought my 2011 Sorento after almost 3 weeks of dealers trying to locate exactly what i wanted. (dark cherry with black interior). Absolutely love the styling and performance of the V6 engine. Quick to get up to speed and fun to drive! Go for the limited package. It's worth the extra if you ask me. Lots of fun and cool things to use! The navigation is excellent and have had no problem with the bluetooth as reported by other users. Did find that the volume control has a lot to do with the problems reported. The suspension is VERY stiff and hoping it does break in as I'm reading other owners have had this problem as well. I was told to check the tire pressure!

An Honest Review

This is an excellent value buy for those looking to seat 7 with features galore. Power with the V6 is very good. No rattles and the build quality appears to be very good; only time will tell if it lasts. The ride is fine on smooth surfaces, but rough over bumps and holes. Make sure you test drive it for more than 5 minutes. The backup camera is nice, but it looks warped on the mirror, I would suggest getting the Nav system where the camera is displayed there; much better. Having driven a fully loaded 1999 Jeep GC Limited for 11 years, the Sorento compares favorably in all areas except for ride comfort, driving visibility, and towing. Pretty good for a vehicle that cost $7k less

Suspension Design Defect

Nice car with the exception of a design defect in right front strut. Comes about after 200+ miles, rattles like a failed shock absorber. Kia has admitted to the problem but has no fix as of 5/10/10. Applies to all 2011 sorentos. My dealer spent a week trying to fix before Kia told them there was no fix. If I knew ahead of time, would not have purchased.

Have had my Kia Sorento EX AWD V6 since March. Now 4 months later and 5000 miles, am still very impressed! 3 adults traveled 2500 miles with stops all over New England area and the Sorento was FANTASTIC. 23.2 MPG even going through NYC and NJ freeways jammed up traffic. Voice activated Navigation was wonderful and my favorite option was bluetooth phone linked to my nav screen with touch screen button to call hotel look up. AWESOME! This is a GREAT BUY and is now made mostly in U.S.A. Recommend this SUV. We traded in a 2007 Mazda CX-9 Grand touring fully loaded and only thing we are missing in the Kia is HID headlights and rear climate control.

My wife has a tiny convertible, so I need to drive the "hauler" and while my V6 Escape had been trouble free, it had over 100,000 miles. I decided I wanted to look for better mileage, a little more cargo room, but still a compact truckette. Drove them all, liked the Forester best. Then I saw a blurb on History Channel's "Modern Marvels" about how the Sorento is made at the new factory in Georgia. Drove it, bought it, love it. The construction and finish quality from the billion dollars' worth of robots is amazing, and the thought that went into the design is very impressive, I think. Note: you have to rate "reliability" on this site. I have 2000 miles, what do I know? Great warranty!
