They changed the interior in the 2017. They did improve the comfort of the seats/headrest, but for me, they went backwards in terms of the interior styling- very bland and generic.

25mpg in the city 33 hwy on the 2016 ex hybrid. Taken it in twice stating poor mpg and was told it's just not broken in yet. I have 10k on it when is it going to break in? Liars!! Update 23k it still don’t get the mileage average around 31 mpg. Battery died and it was a $500 trip at the dealership for the repayment service and they didn’t even reinstall the cover. The batter sits in a camparment in the trunk.

Having lived with this KIA Optima EX for over 3 years I can say "super value for money". Initially I had one very small complaint on the highway where I had to continually correct the steering direction especially noticeable on heavily cambered roads. I had the wheels checked for alignment and discovered (what I thought) was that the front wheels were set with far too much "Toe In". I had our local company subsequently set the Toe In to 0 degrees which completely cured the problem. In approximately 25,000 Km I have detected no abnormal wear on either the front or rear tires and the vehicles drives as if it on rails and goes exactly where directed. The cabin is noticeably quieter than my friends Toyota Camry but that could be due to the tires he is using.

3 times to the dealership with documented mileage. No support or fix. I get 25mpg in city and about 33 on the hwy. the hybrid doesn't work. It's running mostly off the engine. Dealerships excuses... it's just not broken in yet. I now have 11k miles. FAIL!!! Do not by the hybrid. My sisters non hybrid does just fine at 36/40 mpg

Everything about this car is fantastic, except for the hybrid powerplant. The mileage is 25 and 33 just like the other reviews stated. That's pitiful for a hybrid and barely better than a standard engine. The car starts moving so slowly that it's dangerous, and often just stumbles until the gas engine starts itself. The electric motor is supposedly 45 HP but it feels more like 20, and it really should be 100 or more. If you want a hybrid buy another brand. If you want an Optima buy the standard version. Save yourself the grief this car has caused me.
