Transmission will go out on you! & they will replace it with the same model & the same thing will happen. Brand new transmission as of yesterday & it still skips & studders when accelerating. Don't buy this vehicle.

I bought a 2013 Jeep Patriot from a local dealer with no warranty on a transmission or motor Haven about three weeks about three weeks after owning a vehicle with cash the transmission I thought starting to feel so I thought it was not the transmission it took a lot of nights a long hard studying and a very good friend to bring this to my attention if you haven't 2013 Jeep Patriot or any of them years check the spark plugs 3rd and 4th cylinder foul out all the time it will cause the vehicle to be sluggish not get any kind of power it will feel like the transmission all the way around but it is not the transmission people it is the third or fourth spark plug I suggest having a tune up with the best spark plugs you can buy and solve my issue I just want to let anyone and everyone know that so that way by 13 hours of studying and a good friend of mine will you save money by not having to drop the transmission and replace it try spark plugs 99% sure that's what it is I took it to every car repair shop in my town and nothing showed on the Diagnostics just replace a spark plug 99% sure that's the problem

Too many suspension parts becoming rusty or corrosive and having to replace such as wheel barrings for one example and now the axle and surrounding components are worn and corrosive looking. There's a squeaky noise in the rear and hoping it doesn't fall apart with me. I've bought this car new and haven't been driving it 5 years yet. I would never buy another one...EVER!! Its JUNK!!

Terrible

We bought a used 2013 Patriot in cash for my daughter. She has had it less than a year and the engine blew. After research I found these dual overhead cam engines are not made for longevity. We are back to square one, this time with no savings built since we just paid this off. Also, the window wash sprays in the car in the back and the front wash doesn’t work.

Our '03 Jeep Liberty was starting to rack up some repairs and then the real kicker was the 12 mpg continual run to the pump. A new car was easier on the budget. I still wanted a small 4wd C/SUV, but with excellent gas mileage. Looking to a balance my need for good cargo space, ability to carry a fair amount of weight and still be economical, I test drove every one of the Asian built tennis shoe/used soap bar shaped AWD vehicles - especially after reading the reviews of the Jeep Patriot/Compass. I did not even bother with test driving this vehicle. Only the Mazda CX5 came close ($$$ and lack of cargo weight). Finally the Patriot - the reviews are wrong! It rocks! It is a dream to drive.
