I bought a 2013 Jeep Patriot from a local dealer with no warranty on a transmission or motor Haven about three weeks about three weeks after owning a vehicle with cash the transmission I thought starting to feel so I thought it was not the transmission it took a lot of nights a long hard studying and a very good friend to bring this to my attention if you haven't 2013 Jeep Patriot or any of them years check the spark plugs 3rd and 4th cylinder foul out all the time it will cause the vehicle to be sluggish not get any kind of power it will feel like the transmission all the way around but it is not the transmission people it is the third or fourth spark plug I suggest having a tune up with the best spark plugs you can buy and solve my issue I just want to let anyone and everyone know that so that way by 13 hours of studying and a good friend of mine will you save money by not having to drop the transmission and replace it try spark plugs 99% sure that's what it is I took it to every car repair shop in my town and nothing showed on the Diagnostics just replace a spark plug 99% sure that's the problem

2012 Patriot 4x2 Latitude - Altitude Edition

I have been considering purchasing a Patriot since they first came out, and since then they have made tons of improvements! I test drove a 2010 did not like it enough to make the commitment. My last vehicle was an 03 Corolla, so it was quite a change for me. I wanted a car with lots of cargo space and decent mileage, so I looked at some smaller cars like the Fit, Impreza, and XV Crosstrek. I found the Patriot to be the best combo of style, utility, mileage for my tastes. I have wanted a Jeep ever since I was a kid, and the Patriot delivers! I finally chose a White Altitude Edition, which is an amazing color combo! LOVE my Pat!

Never again

I needed a vehicle ASAP and listened to the salesman spiel. Didnt have time to really research. Had always wanted a Jeep so I thought why not. At first everything was fine but fuel economy soon became even worse, avg 23/gal. Had to fill up every 5 days and my commute is NOT long. Interior is cheap (it literally started to fall apart like a zombie) on the inside little by little. Rear seats even when reclined are uncomfortable for both my six foot teenage son And my 11 year old daughter. Absolutely 0 leg room in the rear. Uconnect is a pain (slow and tedious to use). Trying to change my own blown light bulbs is a mess since I literally have to remove panels to change them. So much for trying to save on maintenance. Only positive thing was it was so small I could park it in some pretty cramped places. Trying to get up to speed to merge on a freeway, good luck I was stomping on the pedal. I guess the saying is true. The only good Jeep to buy is a wrangler.

Too many suspension parts becoming rusty or corrosive and having to replace such as wheel barrings for one example and now the axle and surrounding components are worn and corrosive looking. There's a squeaky noise in the rear and hoping it doesn't fall apart with me. I've bought this car new and haven't been driving it 5 years yet. I would never buy another one...EVER!! Its JUNK!!

Be aware of transmission repair

Have owned since purchase in 2012. Followed all guidelines according to manual and transmission failed 7.5 years later. Will cost more (3500 +)to fix than vehicle is even worth which is ridiculous . Will stay away from All Jeep purchases in the future And continue to inform friends why I have a vehicle that sits stagnant and will be sending to scrap yard
