Sad, things keep breaking on an otherwise good SUV

My second Grand Cherokee and while I like the styling and the value I have had too many issues to give it a positive rating. I had a major electrical failure after 2 months which could not be figured out after 3 trIps to the dealer and a month without its use. Finally determined a canon plug at production was poor. I have also had a rear seabelt fail twice and now my Uconnect screen has to be replaced due to a software corruption on an upgrade. Yes, the whole unit for a software issue... The Apple CarPlay is also unreliable and does not connect frequently. The bones of the vehicle are great but the electronics suck for reliability.

The quality issues are numerous. The Summit is supposed to be the flagship and what a disappointment. The hood rusted around the entire perimeter, the leather seats lost their color and eroded right down to the raw leather, the air suspension needed to be removed at a shock $3200 at the Jeep dealer, a motor mount at $2200, various electrical issues, 2 water pumps, and the list goes on. All occurred before 100K miles. I traded my 2014 Grand Cherokee Limit for the 2018 due to various issues so now I’m done with Jeep. When Jeep decides to include Quality into their product then maybe I will consider Jeep again. And the new Jeep is not the answer to quality.

Great v8 reliable engine

I just traded in my beloved fully loaded summit 2018 jeep grand Cherokee v8 with over 70,000 miles. This was such an incredible machine that never gave reliability concerns. The v8 power is so addicting and honestly nothing in at this price point besides the Durango with v8 can match the power , comfort, space, reliability, 4 wheel drive. My jeep also has the air suspension which always seemed to keep the nosedive in check during hard braking . I drive between 25,000-35,000 miles a year so I can attest that this is a great machine. My only negatives are in my opinion I wish the drivers seat had even more leg room since I’m over 6’1. Lastly the uconnect system is great however periodically it does freeze up and cannot be reset until after the car has been turned off for hours . I had my entire radio u connect system replaced twice and still randomly every blue moon experience the same issue. This can be especially frustrating when driving on highway trip and cannot control any radio functions and ac functions . This is not a system where you can restart car and it fixes the problem instead it has to fix it self. For this reason I traded the vehicle .

Liked everything until the display delaminated causing control issues . Jeep not very helpful fixing a known problem . Should be a full blown recall .
