Used 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV Consumer Reviews
Love to Drive my Grand Cherokee
Just came off a 2400 mile trip. The I found the Grand Cherokee comfortable enough to drive 14 hours straight switching drivers. We hit very heavy rains at times driving home and I always felt the Jeep was stable with the ESP and the Quadra Drive system. The inside cabin was comfortable, and all the controls were easy to reach. I am looking forward taking the Jeep off roading.
Great Vehicle - better than pre-2005
Just purchased this vehicle in Sept. after test driving a Liberty. For the extra $5000 there's no comparison. It's smooth, comfortable and solid, with the driving heft of the old Wagoneer. Family member have Grand Cherokees from 2000-2004, and the new V6 has considerably more power. I got the base model, which is very nice, though I did upgrade to Quadra Trac II - seems foolish to not offer a low 4wd gear in a truck of this size. Gas mileage (hwy) up to 25 mpg! (cruise control set at 55 mph, windows closed).

Very dissapointed
Bought my 1st semi-new vehicle after college. Have owned it less than a yr. now it keeps getting stuck in gear. Code says Transmission Control Module. Paid $2000 for an extended warranty, but it is not covered b/cits considered electronic. Well, the whole car is based on a computer so it should really improve electrical components. So a tow, rental car, and who knows what the cost of parts and labor will be...and I'm one very angry customer. No wonder Chrysler is going bankrupt! Less than 45,000 miles, so something like that should not be breaking!!!
Do not buy a Jeep
We purchased this Jeep because my wife fell in love with it and we had a little one on the way. Guess what. I recently went to turn our baby seat front facing. It will not fit on right or left sides- has to be in the center. The headrests are NOT removable and at such an angle that they prevent the child seat from being installed at the right angle. Not to mention the gas mileage has been no better than 14.5 (mixed driving) and 15 hwy. Good news is that it does not seem to change if I am towing or not! I do not think cylinder deactivation works either. Also we have had so many wind leaks and noises. To sum it up- WHAT A MISTAKE! Poor engineering, high price and unsafe for my baby!
Awesome
I recently purchased a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with 5.7 liter Hemi engine. I have owned and driven many European and Japanese SUVs but I was totally blown away but this car's performance. It is also very fun to drive. The interior gives you a specially cozy feeling inside. Downside is the fuel economy, which in fact is not much different from any other SUV, doesn't come even close in performance. Also I am 6' 4" and although I fit in perfectly well I don't recommend it to anyone taller.
