My uncle bought it new in 05 then I bought it from him and its a 60,000 miles and going strong it rides amazing but the v6 is sluggish (really need to mash the pedal to pass on the hwy) gas milage isnt great but i'm not complaining. it has been rattled hard (uncle lived on a dirt, rutted horrible road lol) and has only had a few problems.

The Legend Improves

I owned a 2001 Grand Cherokee that was a outstanding vehicle with no problems and this one looks like it may be as good or better that the 2001. A solid sporty and handsome SUV. I took a 600 mile trip with a mixture of interstate and mountainous roads and handled nicely and the seats are real comfortable. The 4.7 V8 is powerful and swift. The 5 speed transmission is a smooth shifter. You can tell that this vehicle has the influences of Mercedes. DaimlerChrysler has added some much needed creature comforts that the last generation should have had. I narrowed my choices down to a GC and a Trailblazer. I know I made the right decision with JGC.

A comfortable cruiser

Traded in an Acura. This Laredo is so much more comfortable on long trips. Especially visibility, soft adjustable seats for smaller people, lack of road noise. Getting 22.5 mpg on interstates, 65 mph, A/C always on, V- 6 motor, 2WD.

What a Disappointment

This car is a major disappointment. I got the 3.7L thinking to save some on gas. It not only gets an average of 14.7 (average of 30 fill-ups); mpg it is also sluggish to respond when you put your foot down. I have been told by dealer that everything tests well according to their diagnostic. That was after the recall notice on the transmission. This is my third and last Jeep. The power band shifting is horrible and laggy. The vehicle will take almost a full second to respond when you put your foot down on the gas, and does not shift correctly (probably why the gas mileage and response is so bad). After six months of ownership I will be trading it in for a Murano. What a disappointment.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore my Jeep. I love how it drives, looks, and all the features. It has been my favorite car so far, BUT it has SO many problems!! The sunroof leaks, the dust cover around the shifter broke, windshield washer fluid squirter broke off, the button to open the back hatch glass broke, and it sounds like the transmission is having problems!! for only being 4 years old I had assumed i bought a lemon! Also it seems that there is hardly any room in the back seat.
