Nothing like a Jeep!
I love my 2001 Laredo w/4WD! Have owned 4WDs in the past but none performed as well offroad as the Jeep. I've found myself in some sticky situations since buying it but my Jeep has always saved me. While not the most luxurious of vehicles inside, you'd be hard-pressed to find an SUV made more SOLIDLY than a Jeep. Here in the south, I put it into P/T 4WD while driving in rainstorms & have never even slid, let alone hydroplane; always a problem w/prev cars. The folding seats & roomy cargo area let me fit just about anything in the rear easily. None of my prev SUVs made me feel more safe or secure than this one. We plan to always own a Jeep from now on!
great engineering, terrible execution.
Brought the vehicle new in 2001.has 94,000 miles today almost from day one we've had issues with it, the brakes have been replaced 5 times, had the hood struts, rear window struts, axle seals replaced transmission at 90,000 and replace radiator plus engine fan relay. the vehicle nows has squeaks when going over bumps and idles rough at stop lights. gets 13 MPG in the city and 17 highway{terrible for a 6} will never get another Jeep again.

Great SUV
This is my second Grande Cherokee after my '96, which I put 110,000 miles on. This is the most comfortable, driver friendly, quiet and still performs. I have had zero problems with it, except it seems to attract a lot of attention when spotted. It is black with the Chrome 17 inch rims and is truly gorgeous.
DOORS NOT FLUSH TO FRAME
I have had my Jeep in the shop 6 times to adjust the drivers door frame. When it snows or rains it builds up in all four doors. When on the highway wind blows in around the frame. The strike plate on the drivers side continuously needs adjustments. The dealer tells me this frame problem witht the doors is normal. I have owned 3 SUV and never had this problem. I am pretty disgusted.. I would like to hear from a JEEP representative to discuss these problems.
Don't buy a grand Cherokee
I purchased a 2001 brand new and I've had so many problems ranging from my moon roof not working to my transmission being replaced to replacing my heated leather seats. I don't recommend this product to anyone!!
