Motor burned 2/3 of its oil in the first 3k miles. This will cause the vehicle to just shut off with no warning lights or sounds. Vehicle shut off while my wife was trying to cross an 8 lane highway. Jeep has decided that this is “normal” consumption as long as it’s less that 1qt per 1000 miles.

In April 2019 I purchased a brand new Jeep Compass Latitude 4x4 and from the next day my seat . ...my centre console ....my steering...the wheel alignment ....rubber seals and mouldings...rear light needed fixing..shiny black mouldings on outside of doors are loosening. Driver seat control panel broke off. I have Gremlins in my touchscreen / radio. I dislike Stop/ Start feature because that too has issues. The quality and good workmanship of this car....Basically the look of the car is it's only best feature. First and last time I purchase a Jeep Compass.

Rubbish from day1 of purchase

I purchased the Jeep Compass on 11th July 2020 and from day1 I didn’t get it home before the engine management light came on and fault codes PO686 and PO238 appeared on code reader. Was told at jeep dealership it was wiring fault then sensor fault and then finally fixed after 6 days and was told it was they replaced the turbo intercooler pipe. Drove it for 40 miles and engine management light came on again but this time fault code was p2002 dpf low pressure below manufacturers threshold. Taken back to Stoneacre cleckheaton jeep dealership for 7 days got back drove it 25 miles same fault code p2002 again so back to Stoneacre again and they did a static regeneration and gave it me back and advised of code came on again to take jeep on a 2hr run on motorway and this will clear dpf filter. 27 miles and code appeared again so took car on motorway for 3hrs and average speed of 70mph because it was midnight so empty motorway and code still showing so in the end I have rejected this car while I still can before I get stuck with it and it starts costing me money when they manufacturer warranty runs out. Shocking customer services too

Poorly Constructed and Uncomfortable Ride

This is my 4th Jeep. The previous 3 were Liberties. I've owned this Compass and it has been in the shop 5 times with multiple issues - particularly the tires. It is an extremely rough ride. You feel every crack and bump on the road, especially going down the Interstate at 75MPH. This is something I never experienced with any of my Liberties. The issues are so significant that I had to write the FCA CEO to get the dealership to take the issues I am having resolved. Even with that, the dealership spends their time making excuses for the issues as opposed to fixing them. If it wouldn't end up losing money I would get rid of it. There are some pluses in terms of the electronics, but not feeling that I can take this car on long-distance trips (1,200 - 1,500 miles) pretty much limits this car to driving around town. I would never purchase another Compass and would strongly discourage others from purchasing one. There is even an exposed area near the gas peddle that generates so much heat that after 20 or 30 minutes your foot is roasting and should it be touched by exposed skin, you will receive a burn. Stay clear of the Compass.

Had problems from the second day...

Be careful, it may looks great and has lots of safety features, but expect something being broken all the time We have fully loaded Trialhawk On second day owning it we had driver side sun visor dropped down on one side. In about a week it went into limp mode after being started with start engine button after engine being off by automatic stop engine function.... During first year it had gearbox liver got jammed, what was causing car not being able to start. Forward collision radar located close to road surface and was damaged by some road hazard..It was recalibrated, but first Jeep was trying to sell me new instead.. And it cost around $1400 Constant problems with automatic start/stop function. Which appears was about second battery dying.. It was replaced, and on second day after there was error with Start/stop... It had oil leak around 30k miles, which was fixed, kinda...and now has gearbox leaking at around 40k... And as cherry on top of the cake of problems - It's lift gate glass exploded yesterday on parking lot.. There a lots of things to love in this car though, but don't expect it have any quality....
