The Jewel of Jewels
I bought my Q45 10 years ago and it now has 188,000 miles on it. I am amazed at the reliability of this vehicle. It is far and away the best car I've ever owned. It still runs perfectly- like new today. I keep waiting for something major to go wrong so I can justify trading it in but it continues to run and operate perfectly. It handles well, is very comfortable, powerful and quiet. The only item that ever failed was the alternator at 125,000 miles. I just need to tell the world that this car is the UNBELIEVABLY reliable. I am finally considering trading it in only because I've had it for 10 years and I want something different. I'm sure I'll be disappointed with it's replacement. Its a 10!
Awesome Car! Real Sleeper!!
Loved this car from the first time I got behind the wheel! Only paid $2500 three years ago (122K miles). Just turned over 167K....power steering pump, alternator, and two ignition coils have been the only replacements/repairs over those 45000 miles. Very sweet ride!

Forced Retirement
Just had to retire my 1998 Q45 due to being rearended and totalled. Car had 232000 on it and was overall very reliable. Not a single problem until 155,000 Miles. Fuel Injectors, Coils, and just age were starting to cause more problems, but I think it would have gone to 300,000 if not for accident. Overall, fun to drive, reliable, and excellent value as cost to own is only a little expensive with gas costs. But it proved to be safe as I hardly felt the hit from behind and he was going about 35 miles an hour. I am sure it has been recycled by now!

There's not a better car I've owned...
Bought a 98' for cheap at 72K. Needed a bit, but after valve cover gaskets, belts, battery, oil, air filter, it was ready to go. It sat for years under previous ownership. When I purchased, it had the original belts on it still. A testament to Nissan/Infiniti build quality. It doesn't do bad MPG-wise either. It goes when you need it to. Despite the size, it goes around corners, and stops quickly if need be. And it is comfortable! Expect 19 for city driving. A mix, you'll get 22 if you drive easily. Highway, right around 24 for me; way higher than the EPA estimate. For the money, you could get a Lexus LS400, but it looks worse, and it just isn't as nice. (I have a buddy who has one.)
Flash of the QT
Fun, smooth and powerful. Handles great for a big powerful rear drive car. 125 mph, no problem.
Still impressed
Now I'm up to about 175,000 miles. Check engine light is on which is emissions. Air bag light came on, which means one of the 6 airbags is malfunctioning. Other than this, my car has always been able to run without any problems. Never broke down on side of the road. Last week the dash board lit up like a Xmas tree. I sat on the car for 3 months afraid of the cost to take it it. Well I drove it to the shop and it was just the alt belt that snapped. 100 bucks. Outside of brakes rotors battery and oil change. This is the only repair that I had to make in the 5 +years of ownership. Even then I was still able to drive the car.
As good as my Lexus
The only problem I have ever had with this car was with the differential. They fixed that under warranty, I couldn't be more pleased with car.
Superb Ride
I must confess that I was a HUGE Lexus fan and have owned the LS 400 and GS 400. Unfortunately I totaled my GS and we didn't want a car note, and couldn't find another GS that matched our price point. So, my husband bought the '98 Q for me and told me that I would not be disappointed. Well, how sweet it is! What a beautiful ride and it moves quickly when I need it to. A whole lot of power and luxury for very little cost. It is definitely an under rated vehicle. After owning Lexus V8s, this Q can role just as hard, if not harder! Oh and I forgot to mentioned that it currently has 138,000 miles on it.
Best Car ever made
I have had my Infiniti Q45 for 10 years. It has 190,000 miles on it and the only thing that has ever been wrong (other than standard maintenance) on it is the alternator at 135,000 miles. It is simply an amazing vehicle and is a VERY underrated vehicle. I finally bought a new Nissan this year but gave the Q45 to my 16 yr old daughter. After 4 months, I want my Q45 back! Best car Ever!
Infiniti, Underrated Luxury Car
This is what a luxury car should be. It is very well laid out in the interior, exterior is superb, and it's just plain fun to drive. This car is perfect for the highway, it accellerates very well and you can barely feel the transmission shift. Feels comfortable at all speeds... Doesn't get as much respect as others in its class, but it should!!!!
Q45t
I previously owned a Cadillac Seville STS. The Infiniti seems "tighter" in steering. It's faster from 0-60 mph than the Caddy. Really smooth.
Won't trade my Q45t
This is the second Q45 I've owned and I love it! The ride is very smooth and comfortable without being too soft. Lots of power when I need it. Can't bear to trade it for a new one at current car prices. I've put 67,000 miles on this car and nothing has gone wrong. You can't beat the Infiniti service department and the loaner car program. The customer service is excellent!
Best Car Ever!!!!!!
Infiniti is one of the most under rated vehicles. My Q45 has 80,000 miles and not a single problem. Excellent luxury and performance. I got a great price on it, far below actual value. It is a great car I would recommend it to anyone that wants a great car at a great price!!
Recommend Q 2 any 1
I've had my Q going on eight months. The car is out of this world. From acceleration to comfort. I really don't know for you are looking for but the 1998 Q is the most superior V8 in its class. Its a great car and very reliable on the highway. Highly recommend the Q45. Nothing like it. Must drive one today..

Finally...after admiring it for 6yrs
I live in Mexico & accidentally found my Q while browsing. I called, checked it out and bought it all in 2 days. The car has 43k miles in 22 yrs, dealership-babied & only used for short trips & special occasions. I paid $3400 - more than market-value but it's immaculate. I read every review out there & now know why it was such a sleeper as a top 3 luxury sedan of its day. Everything about it is crisp. Actually other drivers stare it down & avoid coming close as if to pay some bizarre homage due to its appearance. It's a timeless vehicle & Nissan isn't making cars like this anymore. If you want a car that was built to detail, the 2nd generation Q45 is it.

Q45 A Pure Joy
This is a great car and fun to drive. Much nicer and less expensive than any new car. With the extended warratnies, I don't think I'll ever buy another new car. I'll just keep buying used Q45s.
Best hidden secret
My car just had its 60,000 mile checkup and no repair so far what so ever. Considering the reliability and the low cost of operation, it is amazing to me how inexpensivily this can be obtained in the used market.
The Best
I had never even been in one, but I am thrilled with my car. Needed something after having a wreck in my Subaru Forrester that we bought new. This car is just about the most comfortable and fun car I have ever driven. I told my husband I feel like a queen. It may be used, but it was immaculate when we bought it, and it is fabulous. We had it evaluated by a mechanic, and he was highly impressed with the condition. If you need a used car and get a chance, buy one!
Best sleeper car ever made
Now that I'm at the point of retiring from Q45s it is safe for me to say that this is one of the best vehicles ever made. You can get them for 4k with 90k miles in 100% condition from an 80 year old doctor, then drive the crap out of them. We have bmw's but I take the q45 when it's highway time. A really great vehicle and the ultimate sleeper.
Sweet
Just bought my brother-in-law's Infiniti after watching him enjoy it for 10 years. Love driving it. Love the interior feel, the sturdiness of the car, the immaculate condition. Love the feeling of luxury. Looking forward to keeping it another 10 years.
I love the drive
This car drives nice. The wind noise is a little loud, but the drive is wonderful. I have the Q45t model, and the suspension is unbelieveable, if you can find one used, the pricing is very inexpensive.
Just the Best.
Simply the best car I've ever owned. Told my wife yesterday that if we had a ton of money, I would just keep rebuilding this car as it aged. Comfortable, quiet, reliable, powerful, good features. Would not trade for BMW, Lexus, Mercedes,... Maybe for a Rolls?
more than meets the eye
We stumbled across a creampuff and bought it on the spot. It had been professionally maintained and was immaculate. If you want to move into affordable luxury, test drive one of these jewels used before you buy anything new. The fit and finish are impressive - stylish without being out there - accelerates as you would expect with a 4.1 cyl 266hp V8, and rides big and comfortable. They got the "touring" part right.
Beautiful Car
56,000 miles, reliable, wonderful car. Superb acceleration. Though it doesn't hold resale value, it's a great car to buy as it doesn't hold resale value, and a good car to keep for same reason. SUPERB dealership service! Our second Q.
Terrific Luxury Ride
This car feels like it was built from a solid piece of steel. In my 20,000 miles, nothing has hinted at going wrong. Absolutely silent and smooth at idle, with a BMW growl when you push a little, comfortable seats and a sensible list of accessories make for the best of the 40-odd cars I have owned, especially dollar for dollar.
The car that put me down
My second week in this car, only 30,000 miles the alternator went out and car stops with absolutely no warning lights or anything comes to a dead stop on a major highway which is heavily traveled by 18 wheelers. Thank God I'm here to tell the story. If you have a choice in cars, do not... I repeat do not get an Infiniti.
