Smart Buyer will consider this car!!!
It all comes down to brand, which relates to prestige. With the same options, if you are not willing to pay $7K extra on BMW 330 or $9K on Mercedes Benz C320, then the G35 is your best choice. Sometimes... I wonder if BMW and Mercedes Benz only recruit Harvard and Kellog's grads for their marketing team.
Great Car after 1st year
I waited until I have owned the car for nearly a year. I must say it still is fun to drive, even though the new car feeling has faded. I love the power and even the touchy brakes. I find myself thinking about the next G35 I might buy. Overall, a great car with no problems yet.

Exhilarating
What a phenomenal package of performance, luxury, looks, quality, reliability and price! Way to go Infiniti. They should have given this car its own letter of the alphabet, because G is where the similarity ends between the outgoing G20 and the up and coming G35. This car is awesome. Let's call it the A35.
ok, but should trade in for a TL
the dealer/service at serramonte is the worst. no one knows what is going on with your car. the car itself drives well, but the navi is extremely annoying to use, especially when you have to get somewhere quick. interior quality and non-intuitive controls need rethinking. the exterior and driving capabilities are the car's strongpoints.
seats AWFUL!
I test drove this car. It was last on my list to try and the one I most wanted to like. Performance is outstanding, powerful. Almost everything about this car is perfect for me, ALMOST. The decision to put the power seat buttons on the actual seat has is the worst design ever in power seats. The seat control buttons and the casing will dig into your thigh if you are a larger person. Awful. I will have to pass on a wonderful car because the buttons dig into my right thigh and caused pain during the test drive. It IS a great car and too bad it has poorly designed seat controls.
Top notch vehicle
This is a tremendous vehicle. In fact, my wife is taking the car for herself. The G35 is a fun car to drive. Fit and finish are as perfect as I have seen on any car. Great accerlation and braking. Down side is no trip computer and the VDC and dimmer for the lights are in akward position. Any car you look for in 2002/3 this has to be on your list for sports cars. The price is nearly $10k cheaper than a BMW 330i.
About time
I cannot say one bad thing about it yet. I could never justify spending $40 grand on a german luxury sport, but this thing is worth more than those and costs less!
A Porsche sedan
Dealer called it a 2003 1/2. Infiniti raised the price for the Leather model $700, but made Xenon headlights standard, as well as the radio coming equipped for Satelite. The rear deck was redesigned for the better. Have Premium and Sport Package. When bought new with 11 miles, the tire pressure was 41 pounds all around. I reduced the pressure to 32 pounds and the car not only rides better - more supple - it actually handles better. The Bose radio disappoints - I found a solution: adjust treble to +3 and bass to -3. Only real gripe is the gas mileage. Gets 14 mpg in normal city driving.(95% stop and go city streets, 5% highway).
My G35
I have the base model and it still has a ton of options.
The Beemer Beater
What can I say - This is one great machine. I test drove extensively the following cars to be sure I got the right one for me. BMW 325i, 330i, Acura TL Type S, Mazda 6s, Honda Accord exlV6, Lexus GS300, IS300, Volvo s40 and a bunch more. Bottom line came down to a 330i or a G35. and for 11K more the beemer wasnt even close. I've checked out all the lelectronic control devices and they work as advertised. The beemer trac ctrl was too invasive and the Acura's was absolutely horrible. For me the G35 is an experience that I haven't had since my '75 Saab 99LE. What a blast it is to drive again after 20+ years of family mobiles.
Best Car for the $
Purchased the Luxury Leather model with Premium, Sport, Aero, Sunroof,Xenon, etc. in black/black...car is hot!...Fast, stylish and all this for under $35k...considered A4 3.0 and BMW 330Ci but could not compare for the price...Also, I get the performance of the 3 series and size of the 5 series...can't go wrong...only issue I have is car idles at 400 RPM when in drive at full stop...this wouldn't be a problem except i notice a slight vibration as if the car is struggling not to stall...anyone else notice this?
Glorious G35
Great car overall. Fun to drive, comfortable on long trips and nice exhaust note. Very disappointing fuel economy (16.5 overall) and interior material and build quality sub-par and aging faster than its 18k miles suggest. Exterior holds up very well, even in Northeast, where traction control does a great job in most conditions.
So Smooth
The car glides on the road.
Love it
Great car. Have 32,000 miles on it and have had no problems. Very quick, one of the quickest I have driven. Very stylish as well. Bought the fully loaded package and glad I did.
Great get up and go
I have enjoyed my Infiniti owning experience for the most part. Bought it with 55K miles already on it, now at 119K no major issues to report. Only issue is my car has some electrical issues that come and go, radio cuts in & out, power seat sticks. This is a great highway car in the way of maneuvering and great pickup. Not so great on the MPG (one of the reasons I'm trading it in now). Had mostly owned GM vehicles but had to trade my XL Denali (my baby) in for the G35 when the gas hike hit. Have to say I liked my Denali better, just personal preference. Costly to own & on repair, thank god for the mechanic in the family (saved me a lot on labor and routine maintenance costs).
2 year old and 45,000 miles
Overall a good car for the money. The navigation works well but the sound quality from the Bose is average. The drivers seat shows signs of excessive wear. The car chews up brakes. Working on the second set of pads and rotors $850 from dealer. Infinity has offered free replacment but only up to 36,000 miles. Dealer cannot find a squeek in the dash.
G35
A great enginered auto...puts BWM 3 and 5 series to shame...handling and performance is outstanding..found 0 flaws when delivered...
Bought the second one on the lot
As a recovering BMW owner, I was wowed by this car from when i first saw it and even more wowed when i drove it. Torque out the wazzoo, great handling and incredibly comfortable on a long trip.
Incredible and elegant
i just got my G35 and it's incredible, powerful and elegant. it is an eye opener i dont drive it too fast, beacause i want everyone to enjoy it as well when i drive by. i feel like if flying a fighter plane on a mission. i have no regrets in fact ia m proud of my self for picking the right car, after all " A car is a extension of one's personality"
Love It
Great ride, great value great car.
2003 G35 4 dr.
love how it handles in: high speed turns, snow.
It's worth every penny
Just pick up a black one, I like it!! Other car companies offer similar features and packages but man! the breaks on this thing is fantastic!!! It exactly knows what I want and does it. I haven't tested engine yet but as soon as break-in period is over I'll take it out and test it. For the price this car is nice. On the way home I ran into a suped up Saab 9-3, as soon as he noticed me he accelerated, ha!! I could have smoked him easily but it was my first day so I let him get away. If I ever see him again, I'll let him know he wasted his money.
Great Car
I've owned my G35 for almost 2 and half years and still love driving it. I have not had a single problem with it (a few recalls, that's it). The car is obviously well built and seems like it will last forever. If you haven't driven one yet, do it. Bring your checkbook. They "only" thing I'm not real crazy about is the gas mileage especially with prices where they are but it's also nice to know that when I want or need the power, the G never lets me down. One thing I was apprehensive about was the rear wheel drive and traction in the snow; I don't miss front wheel drive at all. I don't know how they did it but you just can't skid or slide around in the snow.
the best vehicle ever
G35 is one of the best sport sedan I love it.
got 3 speeding tickets in a year
After getting my third speeding ticket, my wife now drives the G35 and i get to drive our minivan. I drive the g35 on the weekends and it's hell the five days i do not drive the g35. Not the most comfortable car i've owned, but the most fun i've had on four wheels. If you want comfortable, go get a cadillac deville. If you want to raise the hair on the back of your neck, get a g35 and find a winding road. The car feels like i'm riding on two rails... unless i take the vdc control off. My wife loves the car as well. plenty of room for a baby seat in the rear and trunk accomodates four golf bags easily. I love this car!
G35
Excellent combination of handling, power and comfort. Rivals the BMW at thousands less.
Spend a little more on a 3-series
Since I bought this car as a commute car only (also have an '03 M3) I decided to save a little money and get the G35 over a 330i. What a big mistake. The interior is a joke and the car rattles like an old Chevy. The handling is good but can't approach that of the 330i. I guess it's a good car for the money but consider spending a little more and you get a far superior car in the 330i. I would not recommend the G35 to anyone.
Satisfied G-man
I've waited 30 years to find a car that gives me the same kick to drive since my cherished 67 Mustang 289 and my 73 Challenger. You can have your Beemers, Volvos, Saabs and Audis, all of which I test drove, but nobody supplies more bang for the buck than Nissan. I know some people think sedans aren't "sports cars", but think again. This car is hotter and more stylish than it's coupe sibling. All of my gripes are minor ones; a cup holder for cups no one can locate, no pass through for the trunk, no rear wiper and silly location for some of the controls (Skyline right handed?). Stack this against turbine like torque, solid tracking, real comfort and support and 27 mpg on the open road!
Just get it!
Have had the G35 for almost 2 months and it is still an amazing car to drive. It has so many good qualities in its class. Too bad the BMW die- hards will not give up their tunnel vision, but for an apples-to-apples comparison, nothing touches this car. Remember this is a $30K car when well equipped, so it should be compared to the BMW 325i and the Mercedes C240, and in both of these comparisons the G35 blows them away! Not even close. If you want to get close to this level, you need to up your price to the $40K level with these competitors. All this and Infiniti quality and reliability – not getting to be buddies with the shop manager.
A6 to G35 Convert
I thought I would never find a car that would sway me from my love for the Audi A6. I was on the verge of buying a 2001 2.7T until I drove this car. It's awesome!!! The car has a solid german feel, great acceleration, and great looks at a great price.
Love at first sight!
I just bought my new Infiniti G35 and I love it! After test driving Mercedes C class and the Audi A4, I found that there is no comparison to the value received from the G35. Not only is it faster and more reliable, but in my opinion the interior and exterior look more sporty and luxurious as well. Plus you get more standard options then on any of the others, making it a great value.
Still Fun To Drive!!
After six months of ownership I've already packed 14000 miles on this rocketship. Still an amazing vehicle!! No problems thus far, and I still enjoy the tune of the engine at throttle. Turns heads all the time. Still not a regret about gettin the car, although I envy the look of the coupe.
Go Buy a G35, you won't be disappointed
I have rouhly 3K miles on my G after about a month. Yes that's a lot of miles for 1 month, but the G is so fun to drive. I look forward to a long trip now because I can take out this car and have fun. The engine is very smooth and the handling is very very good. I looked at a lot of cars and drove everything from an Accord to a BMW 525 and I am very plesed with my choice. It is not perfect but no car is. If you are looking for a car that will blow anything away, is fun to drive, doesn't cost $40K, looks good and is reliable, then go to your local Infiniti dealer, you won't be disappointed.
The Good and the Bad
I'm spending $100 a month on tire costs for the G35. I'm told it is the high performance and that they wear rather quickly. Does Jaguar, Porsche have the same problem? The tires I purchased are around $500 a tire and replace two of them at least every four/six months.
Sedan from heaven
Luxury and genuine performance keeps me from being at home. The power and style is awe inspiring.

great car, great buy
i just bought my G35 6MT, and this car is by far the better deal than a BMW. now the german cars might be a little bit better on the interior, but by no means this car is not a comfy and fun car to drive. i have not even got the rpm's above 5000 and it redlines at 6500 rpm's. i also got the sport package, which is killer, and it does drive on the rough side just a bit, but thats what you expect when driving a great handling car. this car is exactly what i wanted and more. the BMW 325 or 330 cant compare with the price or roominess of this car, and even though i love BMW's design and style, this car is surpassing the BMW by the day.
Hit the Road Jake...
The ultimate in sports sedan driving. This is my first truly sports vehicle and I am totally enthused with my new found love of driving. The G35's response and handling have out performed the previous 12 cars that I have owned. Eight were North American made and four were Japanese. The response from total strangers to it's appearance and questions as to how I like my car are a testiment of it's overall appeal. I've always enjoyed driving but now I love it.
Just Got mine last weekend..............
I was going to wait for the 350z, but can't resist on getting this "4 doors Z" love it, over expectation. comparable with BMW M3 1999, but with better design, better engine........surpass Audi A6, 330i, ........love it love it..........guys go get it
G35 "best in class"
I started with the Nissan line in the 70's when they were spartin gas mizers called Datsuns and my last was the Nissan 300Z before I stopped in a Infiniti Dealership about 7 months ago. What a difference a decade makes! The articles you have read don't do this sport sedan any injustice, it is the BMW Beater they say it is.
Infiniti G35 with Sport Package
Came from a 1997 BMW M3, - looked at new 330i. Expensive, boosted steering, soft suspension. Infiniti G35 sports package has none of this. Performance, brakes, handling excellent. Everyone seems afraid of some oversteer in G35 but this is PREFERRED in a fast car. M3 owners worked to get it . Interior excellent, manual passengers seat has no height adjustment. Console, roof liner could use more upscale materials, not much off BMW and Mercedes which also cut corners. Bose stereo is excellent. Considered Audi, dated design, expensive, slow. Infiniti has consistently better rating than BMW,Mercedes reliability and customer statisfaction.
Wow!
I simply adore this car. I have never enjoyed driving a car more. The interior is incredibly comfortable and the exterior is sharp. The handling on curvy roads is impeccable. The only thing that I have to complain about is that the gas mileage is poor. Driving on the highway and maintaining speed of 60 mph, I am only getting 17 to 18 mpg. Braking is incredible and it is a joy to drive.
Pure....
I test drove everything from Mazda Millennia to BMW 3 series to Cadillac CTS. This was by far the best all around car, especially for the money. I have a black/graphite with every factory option except the Navigation. The car rides smooth, it looks sharp, and it is a blast to drive. The mpg is low, but comparable to other cars in the class. I am very pleased with every aspect except the common complaint of the analog clock, which I don't care about. The Bose premium sound system is incredible and incredibly loud! This is one fierce car.
Wow!
This is an awesome car! Starting with the no-pressure salespeople, my Infinity experience has been wonderful. Driving it is a pleasure. The car is so fast, I have never floored it and don't plan to. The ride is extremely comfortable (after I let some of the air pressure out of the tires--the dealer gave it to me with 37 psi and it was a rough ride!) Initially there was a problem with a loose speaker in the back, but the dealer fixed it promplty. The only design flaw is that the space between the front seats and the console is so narrow that if you ever drop something (like your keys!) down there, it's nearly impossible to get them out.
Finally, a better choice than the BMW 3
I was all set to get another BMW 3 because my wife & I LOVED that car & no other car seemed to compare. But the 3 was tight on space especially with a baby. The G is larger inside than a BMW 5. It also bests the 330i in HP & performance. To BMW's credit their inline 6 is the smoothest 6 around. & I still don't know how they're able to combine great handling & ride. No one does suspensions better than BMW, but the G came mighty close. Add the standard features & for once a desirable premium package w/o alot of unwanted features (I'm not spending extra for cosmetic wood). My old BMW was feeling like a stripper after I got my G.
Love the car
Me and my girlfriend had a few doubts about the car but all have been proven wrong, gas mileage is poor if u drive it hard and yes brakes go quickly but its crash impact ratings sold us and the bargain price. Our previous car was a toyota solara which cost more but wasn't half as fun to drive. Only beefs are the emergency brake interfering with left shin and window controllers are a lil low. Transmission can be slow at times but engine is definitely not. Fun to drive with VDC turned off.
Beautiful!!!
I went on my second test drive of this rocket on wheels. head turner, FAST!!!!, Very tight on the corners, great brakes for high speeds!! It's a real beauty although the interior leather could use some more work (this is only the first year I'm sure they'll fix it next).I found the engine a little loud (of course, the sport enthusiast may disagree, given the mission of the car) and the ride a little rough-ish (again, i'm not a die hard sport enthusiast)....Love the headlight design, go Infiniti and go Nissan!! Summary: 100 out of 100.
Wow
My Infiniti Number 7 and the very best yet. Fun to drive is better than my '00 Vette and much less attractive to the local police. Great Road Mannors in every condition I've put it through. My daily driver is an I-30, the G-35 is my wife's and I'm attempting to get her to love the luxury ride of the I-30 but with no luck as yet. Heck, I've even offered up the Vette and still not a sale on my part.
Affordable Excitement
I really enjoyed my test drive of this vehicle. Plenty of power from the low end through the mid-range, comfortable seats and aggressive styling. The rear- wheel drive handling is hard to believe for the price. The interior appointments are more Nissan than Infiniti, but forgivable with what you're getting under the hood for $30k.
Fun To Drive
Sporty and stylish, really gets the looks. Great fun to drive. Best auto buying experience in my forty years of buying cars.
