Silky Smooth V6 Engine
I had owned many different makes of cars. This car surpasses BMW's engine performance easily (Also includes Infiniti's reliability). The length of the car is perfect. I wanted more then what the cramped A4 offers and 3 series too; but not too large to take away from its sportiness. People talk about their BMW, I've had one of those and you get nickled and dimed to death with them. This is a reliable car with performance.
10,000 less than GS300
Most people are comparing the G35 to the 330i--and it is flattering that the Infiniti is even compared to that benchmark car. However, it is more like the Lexus GS300 in its characteristics--and when MSRP is compared between THOSE two the Infiniti is $10,000 less and has 25 more h.p. My Sedan is fun to drive has a nice balance of handling and ride quality. It's clearly the best car for the money.

What a great car!
I looked at Audi A4, BMW 3, and Volvo S60 before I purchased this car. All the good things other reviewers said are true. Get it and have fun.
Wow!
This is an awesome car! Starting with the no-pressure salespeople, my Infinity experience has been wonderful. Driving it is a pleasure. The car is so fast, I have never floored it and don't plan to. The ride is extremely comfortable (after I let some of the air pressure out of the tires--the dealer gave it to me with 37 psi and it was a rough ride!) Initially there was a problem with a loose speaker in the back, but the dealer fixed it promplty. The only design flaw is that the space between the front seats and the console is so narrow that if you ever drop something (like your keys!) down there, it's nearly impossible to get them out.
Owner
No dealer follow-up. Car is quick and fun to drive. Looks great. Luxury package is great deal.
Small Trunk
Small Trunk space, Hard to drive in the rain.
G35 Handles like a sports car
Bought my G35 about 2 months ago and it hasn't disappointed! This car handles like a sports car and the accelleration is thrilling! Get the optional package which includes sliding glass sunroof, full size spare, garage door opener and xenon headlights. It's well worth the extra 2K.
G35 Rocket
Owned this car for a short time and I am really impressed with its performance. Off the line it flat out flies. Looked at Acura TL-S and Lexus GS. No comparison with "bang for your buck" with the G35. The exterior styling is superb. Drive mostly highway and its a real joy. Going into the exit ramp curves sticks like glue. Highway gas mileage averages 26-29 and city 22-24, when not pushing it hard. Overall, a fun to drive, performance oriented sedan.
Newly Found Treasure
I have had the car for 2 days, and the initial impression is nothing but spectacular. Safety is emphasized with features such as LATCH system, front, side, curtain airbags, TCS, VDC. The handling is precisely responsive with neglectible body roll; the engine has almost endless instantly available power; the interior is clean and roomy with well placed primary controls, a very effective A/C unit, and theater like audio system; the sleek exterior design is purposefully built; the ride is firm yet comfortable. Despites the absence of a few useful features, this newly found treasure serves its purposes extremely well.
Awesome ride, door rattles can be fixed
The speed and handling are just incredible. After 3 tries they fixed the annoying door rattle (front passenger). If you have it, insist they change the door panel clips(also insulate them with insulation tape). They are not put in snug, they just rattle around. To see if this is your problem, with the door open, tap the the bottom of the door with your palm and you will hear it tapping. I think the stock sound system sounds great. Not as quiet a ride as my wifes Avalon on the highway, but not noisy either. To me the car is really impressive for 29,300 I did about 10 test drives and this was the only car I got excited about.
Best in Price Range
Before I went to Infinity dealer, I test drove BMW 3 Series, Mercedes C 3 series, Lexus IS 300, Nissan Altima, Audi A4, and I just tried the new redesighned Audi A4. Comparing the luxury, comfort, performance, features and price of Infiniti and all above cars, Infiniti gets 10(excellent) rating.
Excellent Value
The G35 is an absolutely superior vehicle. A great balance of performance, luxury, and price. When combined with the excellent service I have experienced at Infiniti, I am extremely satisfied with this choice.
g35 is the total package
after test driving 3 lexus, 330, cts, lt-s and 300m the g35 is a standout. as far as performance the acura was the closest but did not have that true sport sedan feel. then bmw had great handling but was small and $. the g35 has more power and luxury and other cars in class. as soon as i sat in the car i new it was the right one for me. its the best toy i have every bought.
GREAT
EVERYTHING IS GREAT, THE STEREO IS A LITTLE QUESTIONABLE THOUGH.
2003 1/2 model
just bought mine less than month ago and love it. I didn't know when I bought it, but I have the 2003 1/2 which has some upgrades I love. The xenon lights and the Infiniti written out on the back side instead of boxed.
An Awesome Sports Sedan
Everything about the car was well thought out and put together.
This Car Gets Better and Better
The more I drive this car the more I love it. The handling and power are the big pluses, but I find myself enjoying the comfort and looks of the interior more and more. Started off looking at BMW 325, but tough to go back after experiencing horsepower of the G35. Also like the feeling of more interior room. Wife liked it right away and beleive me that's a bonus.
German cars watch out!
After owning two Mercedes Benz prior to my Infiniti, I must say I am very impressed with the quality and the styling of my G35. Also the power is amazing I love this car!
Very Nice car!!!!!!!
Had the car for a week and so far it has bieng fun, fun, fun!!!!!. The colour of the car is a platinum and beige interior.
Fun to drive - Expensive to own
This car is a lot of fun to drive. It begs to be turned loose on winding roads. Unfortunately, the reliability is horrible. Since I purchased it, I have had the driver's seat mount break (it would move all over the place while driving - a little too exciting), brakes replaced at 34,000 miles, and a complete clutch / flywheel replacement at 59,000. The first two were covered by the warranty. The service guy even suggested I push the brakes hard to be sure they were worn enough before I ran out of warranty. The clutch on the other hand is not covered by the drivetrain warranty and it was over $1,800 out of pocket. If you buy this car, be ready to come out-of-pocket deep and often.
My new G35
I honestly expected more out of this car. I expected far more than Nissan gave me. But thats not to say this car is awful because that it is not. I needed a second commuter car with more room than a normal sports car and its done its job.
Love the car
Me and my girlfriend had a few doubts about the car but all have been proven wrong, gas mileage is poor if u drive it hard and yes brakes go quickly but its crash impact ratings sold us and the bargain price. Our previous car was a toyota solara which cost more but wasn't half as fun to drive. Only beefs are the emergency brake interfering with left shin and window controllers are a lil low. Transmission can be slow at times but engine is definitely not. Fun to drive with VDC turned off.
Beautiful!!!
I went on my second test drive of this rocket on wheels. head turner, FAST!!!!, Very tight on the corners, great brakes for high speeds!! It's a real beauty although the interior leather could use some more work (this is only the first year I'm sure they'll fix it next).I found the engine a little loud (of course, the sport enthusiast may disagree, given the mission of the car) and the ride a little rough-ish (again, i'm not a die hard sport enthusiast)....Love the headlight design, go Infiniti and go Nissan!! Summary: 100 out of 100.
Wow
My Infiniti Number 7 and the very best yet. Fun to drive is better than my '00 Vette and much less attractive to the local police. Great Road Mannors in every condition I've put it through. My daily driver is an I-30, the G-35 is my wife's and I'm attempting to get her to love the luxury ride of the I-30 but with no luck as yet. Heck, I've even offered up the Vette and still not a sale on my part.
Hot Rod
I knew from the minute I saw and read about the car with my automotive background their was no car that is close to the G35 before the critics had got their hands on it. I've had mine for 8 months already and get compliment after compliment from my clients and friends. The car really is a joy to drive. I would recommend the car to anybody. The service is lacking. But I do love my G35.
Manual Sedan (Loaded)
Just got my G-35 6M Sedan with NAV in March. My first new car in 12 years. It is an incredible car - great performance, great finishes and looks good too. I read all the complaints about the fake titanium. I think the black leather and titanium combination looks and feels terrific - a whole lot better than the cheesy fake wood in the Acura 3.2TL.
Better than the BMW
I had my mind set on the BMW (test drove a few) and this car blows it away in price, options, and power. I bought this car for my wife and she absolutely loves it.
Road Rocket
Had mine a week so far. I've driven bimmers in europe on autobahn and love them. Friends have BMW's and they are great cars but... For $9000 less you get close to the same experience with more room. Fast, elegant, real head turner. Only gripe so far is having a hard time finding good seat settings. My old Volvo had great seats. Don't get dark interior, makes it look cheap. Step up to premium with wood and adds class.
This is one great car!!
I bought a new G35 Sedan with Bose, sunroof, sport suspension, and aero package. I am very impressed with it's off-the-line performance and excellent handling. It is amazing what rear wheel drive means for handling. My Maxima was fast, but it couldn't hang with the G35's power plus handling.
There is No Substitute!
This is pound for pound the best luxury sport sedan on the market for the best price, and the best deal between the sedan and the coupe. Mainly b/c if you buy the 6-speed, sport suspension/wheels/tires are included. This is the best feeling, best handling car I've ever driven. Perfect combination of comfortable yet truly sportscar ride. Every creature comfort you could think of, and some you wouldn't, is included. Plenty of cupholders, leg room/headroom, storage compartments, 2 glove boxes, huge trunk, plenty of airbags. Infiniti outdid themselves all the way around. If I were an exec at BMW I'd be firing some design and marketing people.
Top notch vehicle
This is a tremendous vehicle. In fact, my wife is taking the car for herself. The G35 is a fun car to drive. Fit and finish are as perfect as I have seen on any car. Great accerlation and braking. Down side is no trip computer and the VDC and dimmer for the lights are in akward position. Any car you look for in 2002/3 this has to be on your list for sports cars. The price is nearly $10k cheaper than a BMW 330i.
The Great Drive
This car has been The Great Drive. While enjoying it tremendously, I have finally had to give in to my more frugal nature and search for a more fuel efficient transportation car. I'm putting way too many miles on this wonderful car and it costs me an arm and a leg just to work.
Incredible and elegant
i just got my G35 and it's incredible, powerful and elegant. it is an eye opener i dont drive it too fast, beacause i want everyone to enjoy it as well when i drive by. i feel like if flying a fighter plane on a mission. i have no regrets in fact ia m proud of my self for picking the right car, after all " A car is a extension of one's personality"
OG
Pretty good car. Initial quality not so good though because of dealership mishandling (they actually forgot to put washer fluid before giving it to me), alignment(pulls to the right), paint issues (lots of scratches), and starting problems (car wouldn't start until I put it into neutral(I'm hoping this doesn't happen again).
Switch-Altima to G35
Trade a 2002 Atima 3.5 SE for this car, and have been very satisfiedwith all aspects of the car so far. It is a great deal of fun to drive, with superior acceleration and handling compared to the Altima. The gas mileage has averaged about 21.5 miles per gallon, a pleasant surprise considering the pick-up of it.The Bose stereo sounds great , and am looking forward to the addition of XM sat. radio in the near future.Have no complaints at all so far, and would rate it a rousing success-a 9.5. Especially enjoy taking it on twisty roads to take advantge of the superior hanling dynamics.
Still Fun To Drive!!
After six months of ownership I've already packed 14000 miles on this rocketship. Still an amazing vehicle!! No problems thus far, and I still enjoy the tune of the engine at throttle. Turns heads all the time. Still not a regret about gettin the car, although I envy the look of the coupe.
A6 to G35 Convert
I thought I would never find a car that would sway me from my love for the Audi A6. I was on the verge of buying a 2001 2.7T until I drove this car. It's awesome!!! The car has a solid german feel, great acceleration, and great looks at a great price.
Affordable Excitement
I really enjoyed my test drive of this vehicle. Plenty of power from the low end through the mid-range, comfortable seats and aggressive styling. The rear- wheel drive handling is hard to believe for the price. The interior appointments are more Nissan than Infiniti, but forgivable with what you're getting under the hood for $30k.
Wow!
I simply adore this car. I have never enjoyed driving a car more. The interior is incredibly comfortable and the exterior is sharp. The handling on curvy roads is impeccable. The only thing that I have to complain about is that the gas mileage is poor. Driving on the highway and maintaining speed of 60 mph, I am only getting 17 to 18 mpg. Braking is incredible and it is a joy to drive.
Gorgeous power
This is a gorgeous and fun car to drive. My only real complaint is the gas mileage, but I guess that's a tradeoff for the awesome engine.
Pure....
I test drove everything from Mazda Millennia to BMW 3 series to Cadillac CTS. This was by far the best all around car, especially for the money. I have a black/graphite with every factory option except the Navigation. The car rides smooth, it looks sharp, and it is a blast to drive. The mpg is low, but comparable to other cars in the class. I am very pleased with every aspect except the common complaint of the analog clock, which I don't care about. The Bose premium sound system is incredible and incredibly loud! This is one fierce car.
Fun To Drive
Sporty and stylish, really gets the looks. Great fun to drive. Best auto buying experience in my forty years of buying cars.
G35
This car is excellent; fun to drive, powerful, luxurious, sporty. I have no complaints. The car had a braking problem immediately after purchase.
What happens when you floor it?!
Since I'm a bit paranoid about disobeying the rules regarding redlining the car before the "breaking- in" period has finished, I've forced myself to settle with far greater speed than the BMW 325, Audi A4, and countless others. The interior acts as if it has grown around the driver. Also, the seat... it's like an old baseball glove; it just fits.
Personal Review
The reason I looked at and bought the G35 sedan was the price, looks and handling of the car. I also wanted a rear wheel drive which I believe makes for better handling. I am very happy with the car and would recomend it. It is one of the best cars I ever own.
Entry level? More like...
a premium luxury sport sedan. While I normally turn cars in every year or two, this one will be a keeper. My G35 is a fully loaded rear wheel drive sports sedan that rivals the likes of the 5 series BMW, and the GS series Lexus for much less money. Performance is incredible with a 6.1 0-60. Handling is the best that I have ever driven ; period. Fit and finish was flawless with exception of a small ding from the dealer lot. The nav system has more features than I expected. Rear seats recline with adjustable head rests. Dual climate zones and a Bose 200 watt premium system keep the comfort high. No, I am not an employee of Infiniti... just a thrilled owner.
Finally, a better choice than the BMW 3
I was all set to get another BMW 3 because my wife & I LOVED that car & no other car seemed to compare. But the 3 was tight on space especially with a baby. The G is larger inside than a BMW 5. It also bests the 330i in HP & performance. To BMW's credit their inline 6 is the smoothest 6 around. & I still don't know how they're able to combine great handling & ride. No one does suspensions better than BMW, but the G came mighty close. Add the standard features & for once a desirable premium package w/o alot of unwanted features (I'm not spending extra for cosmetic wood). My old BMW was feeling like a stripper after I got my G.
Will never drive anything else!
I absolutely love my G35! This is my first time to own an Infiniti and I am sold completely! This car is so fun to drive and it looks amazing. Yes, the fuel economy is horrible and yes the brakes do go out too soon and yes the idea of controlling the radio and the air conditioner with the same part is not wise (have had experiences with it all), but still, to be an owner of this car, to look at it and drive it is out of this world. Major trunk space! I can't wait to own my next Infiniti. Bring it on!
No Regrets!
I had been shopping for a new ride since last fall. Lots of choices...A4, 330i, Passat, C-class, Maxima, Altima...it seemed I would never decide. Then I was introduced to the G35. Wow, what a machine. I put a deposit on in the first day I saw it (while my wife was away on business). She started talking to me again once she saw it and felt the ride. Now she loves me again!...and so does everyone else. This car is awesome
Heeeeehaaaaaa...
May I tell you - this is an AWESOME CAR to drive! In order to purchase a car, I had taken the time to test drive several cars (A4,Passat, I35,IS300,TL and 3series). Even with a second drive, the end result was the same... hands down, G35 was the best out of all of them. The car has a solid feel to begin with. It's acceleration and the ability to take on corner is absolutely amazing. Yet, even though it has a very sporty look and ride to it, it is nevertheless, very comfortable to drive. It feels as if you're driving a sports car but with all the amenities of a fine luxury european sedan.
