Very Economical car!
This little care is awesome. It’s a nice crossover, plenty of room inside. The engine does respond, especially in sport mode. The Apple Airplay and Android Auto touchscreen radio is very user friendly. Speakers are great. I bought the SEL model, and it’s well worth the upgrade.

Love this car
I wasnt sold after my test drive but I am so glad I got this car. The gas mileage is AMAZING, it handles well in all weather...even icy conditions. The truck and backseat are a little small, but that's only because I have a car seat and stroller to go everywhere with me. Little touches make the car feel like a luxury vehicle: sunroof, leather steering wheel and a user friendly touchscreen display. I am super happy with my choice.

Very disappointing
4th Hyundai I've owned. Bought it new; complained of a squeak when going in reverse since it was new to two different dealerships. "Must be dust on new brake pads..." I was told. Under 15,000 miles, the transmission went out. Took them a month to fix it and still trying to get money back for the car rental, the story keeps changing on who I should talk to. Now the horn never works and the dome light works occasionally, even though the dealer checked off the horn works just fine the last oil change. Driver assist and acceleration in cruise control are abrupt and jerky. It does get over 38 mpg in summer, so it's got that going for it.

Better than I expected.
The Venue was not my first pick for a new car but since the Ford Maverick I wanted would not be available till 2024 I purchased my second choice. we wanted to order a 2022 Venue but again there would be to long of a wait and the price would be much higher. We settled for a slightly used 2021 that was actually better than what we would have ordered! Also since it is a SEL there are the usual upgrades. One that is only available on the newer SEL's is the sunroof which ours lacks which in our case was good as we did not want one. This is our first Korean auto and we are very impressed with the build quality and how solid it feels. There are no rattles , squeaks or shakes present anywhere. Even though it is an economy configured car it does not feel like one. The interior is actually quieter that you would expect and the engine and road noise ( what little there actually is ) is not that harsh at all. Performance wise it is what you would expect however acceleration is very good as I have no trouble getting up to highway speeds and that includes going up onramps. I proved this in the Detroit area where driving can sometimes be quite interesting. The ride is actually very good considering the short wheel base and the lower profile 17 inch wheels but it is not objectionable. It is still better than my 2010 Transit Connect and my former 2008 Focus. If you want a slightly better ride the smaller 15 inch wheels on the SE might be a bit better. The infotainment center and dash displays are very easy to use and take very little time to get used to. This was good for me as this is my first car with all the bells and whistles. I like the fact that you can turn some of the more annoying warning signals off if you want and they stay off untill you turn them back on. The interior is laid out petty good with good room and spaces to store items. The rear seat folds down completely flat without having to remove the headrest's like on my Transit. In the rear there is also some very good extra storage in the spare tire well which is great for storing extra winter driving items. The gas mileage is also much better than what is stated on the window sticker as I am currently averaging 38.7 miles per gallon in mixed driving which is far above the 33 mpg stated. The CVT transmission is very smooth and gives you very good acceleration at all speeds even with only 121 hp. The only modern item I had to get used to was the electric assist on the steering. Since almost all cars have this now you have to get used to it. It is a bit vague to me as I am used to having some kind of road feel as feedback while driving but is is growing on me. I have not had to do any maintenance yet as everything is still under warranty but time will tell how easy that will be. But so far what I can see the major items that the average owner could take care of would not be much of a problem as most things seem easy to get to. Overall I would give this vehicle a 4.9 out of 5. I hope this helps someone out?

Good winter car ..but?
For those in snow areas. Drive in rural wintery conditions and it does the trick. Heated steering wheel seats mirrors, good road clearance even at front. Front wheel drive is all you need. Winter tires. Excellent in snow. Fun in summer. Peppy roomy fun to drive frugal. Hoping this engine is better than the troubled Elantra engines etc. Strong wind does blow you around. Cvt is nice but I could not get a manual. Problem. At 11000km Ac quit lol. Over 1 month not repaired yet.

Transmission Failed After 22000 Miles
OK car when it works, good pickup, great on gas. It has a significantly rougher ride than my Mazda, and the seats feel cheap. Also when in cruise control, the engine revs much higher than when controlling the speed manually - like cruising at a steady 100km/h and the transmission stays put with engine revving around 2000 rpm, but turn on cruise control and the revs creep up to between 3k and 4k in a few seconds. The worst problem was that the transmission failed after about 35000 km (22k miles). It was behaving weirdly - lurching and jerking - so it was brought to the dealer who said there was nothing wrong, and we were charged $80 for the privilege of hearing it. The following week my partner was driving home from the next town over and suddenly the transmission failed. She managed to limp it home but it was grinding and slipping the whole way, and didn't want to accelerate past 50km/h (30mi/h). Transmission was replaced under warranty, but I am nervous about using this car for long trips now. I don't know if the cruise control weirdness is related to the transmission failure - perhaps the higher revs put more strain in the transmission? It still does the high rev thing with the new transmission.

Great Zippy Compact SUV
I just got my 2021 Venue in Candy Apple Green. It has a lot of features on it that you would expect to pay more for. Front camera and back camera. Lane Assistant. I am impressed with this SUV.

Nothing to complain about
Bought this after owning a Mercedes E-class for many years. We got the top trim and impressed. Leatherette trimmed seats with a unique design and a well thought out cabin that doesn’t look or feel cheap. You feel like you’re in a more expensive car. The boxy shape is great for headroom, and it’s loaded with features Heated seats etc and great tech, for such a reasonable price. Using sport mode makes the car plenty zippy for everyday and HWY driving, passing etc. We average 31-34 mpg in mixed driving. So far we have had zero issues. The transmission is one of the best of what we tested. So pleased with this mini crossover.

Simply AWESOME!
I had been looking at cars since November 2020 and initially was leaning toward a larger SUV. After looking at many different SUV's and test driving several competitors, I took one look at the Hyundai Venue and immediately knew THIS WAS THE ONE! I chose the Denim model and am ABSOLUTELY THRILLED with it. This car is simply amazing. The technology is incredible, the gas mileage even more so and the style is head turning. The interior is spacious and the ride is nice. The safety features that are in the Venue outdo many luxury vehicles that I've seen. Truly a great vehicle at an incredible price. Go for it, you'll see!

ALMOST perfect
I’ve had my 2021 Venue SE for a little over 2 months (1100 miles) and I love it more than any car I’ve owned in the past. The size and ground clearance are perfect for me living New Orleans which is basically urban driving but with back country roads. The roads are terrible here. I had a Malibu before and would scrape the ground just going in and out of driveways and I’m happy to say that hasn’t happened with the Venue once. It drives great and gets great fuel economy. I have experienced a few problems unfortunately. The infotainment system is kind of terrible. Wireless CarPlay rarely stays connected for the whole drive and it just disconnects and reconnects over and over. Ive done a lot of research on the issue and Hyundai says its an Apple issue. Apple says its a Hyundai issue and no one seems to be working towards a solution. I didnt think that not having a center console or arm rest would bother be but I do kind of miss it now that i dont have it. I think its kind of stupid that it only comes on the higher trims. It seams like a simple thing that they should all have. And i was very surprised to experience leakage from my passenger side door. I came to my car after a day of rain to see a puddle of water in my seat due to a leaking passenger door. Which is unacceptable on a car that is under 6 months old. All that being said, I do like the car for the most part. I just hope that Hyundai’s warranty is as good as they claim it to be and we can get all these tiny issues worked out.

Nice but ...
Great on gas, good turn radius, nice display features/options, quiet - only when parked. Decent driver and passenger leg room for average and small size person, both in height and weight. Good trunk space for vehicle it's size. Loud road noise, stiff thin cushioned seats, no comfortable for long distances. Vehicle driven didn't have a center arm rest. Would recommend for city or small town driving. If seats were improved, it'd recommend it for distance driving also. Not sure on price, but would definitely be happy with purchase as a first time vehicle owner.

Fantastic Little SUV
As a fresh out of college first-time car buyer this car was perfect. It's small size makes navigation smooth and parking easy while all the tech makes it feel much more expensive than it was. I was looking specifically for a cheaper SUV styled car and the overall value this car offers made this my first pick by a long shot, and it has lived up to those expectations in the month I've had it.

Sporty
I was a little concerned about purchasing the vehicle due to the lack of power but I'm impressed...put it in sport mode and it took off a lot faster than I ever expected. We purchased the sel with the premium package and with rebates some willing and dealing got a 24000 vehicle for about 17000 with a down payment as well. And btw this is the safest I've ever felt driving with all the safety features especially with the crazy world we live in now. But still be alert at all times
Fancy turtle!
It's hard to get as much value for this price new. The only things I wish were available are leatherish seats, adaptive cruise control, and at least 60 more horses!

What a great vehicle. I am so glad I bought this little Venue. I had researched for a long time trying to decide whether to buy or not, then I read a reviews that said "Quit looking and buy,you won't regret it "They were so right, THANK you Hyundai for ALL the wonderful products.

Henry "Hank" the Hyundai!
I Love my Venue. I wish it had a center armrest but I have the basic model so it doesn't have one. But it rides smoothly and is very fuel efficient.

Great car if you only drive during the day.
The headlights on this car are dangerous unless you live in an area where everything is completely flat with straight roads. At night on curves or hills, etc. the headlights "black out" everything on the sides of the road and in the distance, so that your visibility is only a few feet right in front of you. Although I've tried for about 8 months now to get Hyundai to do something, they just won't. I'm sure I'll eventually hit a deer or crash at night. Will never buy a Hyundai product again.

Great little car
Excellent fuel mileage. I went from a truck to this car when fuel prices went up and at first I wasn’t sure how I felt about it but I’ve gotten used to it and I love the fuel mileage overall. I wouldn’t trade it for anything and I’d definitely recommend it and I’d definitely buy another

Worst manual I've driven
I have the 2021 Venue Essential because I was deadset on a manual car. I've always driven manuals and I love it. This is by far the worst one yet. I test drove a 2020 and oddly enough it was much better. There's a grinding noise when I push and release the clutch, aka every time I shift gear, and it gets very loud. I brought this up with the dealership the same day I took possession and they didn't take it seriously at all. They tried to brush me off with "we don't hear it", "we adjusted some things and lubed it", and "that's just what you get at an entry level car". Eventually, after having it in the shop for 3 months they replaced the clutch slave cylinder - apparently the manufacturer itself did acknowledge the part was faulty and they "upgraded it". It's slightly better, but the noise is still there. In addition, the front speakers have crapped out once already, and the brakes started to squeal after I drove it for an hour. Their response of "that's probably just morning dew" would make sense, had I not already driven the car for an hour... Oh, and the loaner 2020 Venue Essential they gave me was similar. Same sound when shifting, but also the screen wouldn't light up every time I started the car. Radio would work, touching the screen would create "button push sounds", but the screen itself was pitch black - happened both in reverse and first gear. Stay far, far away...

Good on gas but.....
Good gas mileage. Cheaply made vehicle. The seat belts are not adjustable so it cuts into my neck. The wiper blades are no good. Did not give a clean wipe, not even when the vehicle was new. Don't have to be going fast for the tires to squeal, even when reversing into a spot or after it rains. Next time I'll spend a little more for a better quality vehicle
Cheap, fully loaded, useless
Very limited space, consider renting one for a week or so before purchasing.
Venue Denim is a hit!

AWESOME
I have always own Hyundai's since 2000. I took one look at the Hyundai Venue and immediately knew this was going to be my next car. I chose the Denim model and am ABSOLUTELY THRILLED with it. This car is simply amazing and the technology is incredible, i learned something new about the car every week. The gas mileage is great for long distance driving (approx.70 miles a day) and the style is head turning. The interior is spacious and the ride is nice. The safety features that are in the Venue outdo many luxury vehicles that I've seen. Truly a great vehicle at an incredible price. I did have the windows tinted and I get a lot of great looks. You will see you will love the car ! Best buy for my $$.

Back and neck problems
The cheap driver's seat in the Hyundai venue gives me back and neck problems from extended driving time and I drive for a living isn't that sad
Back in the workshop again
Purchased the mid range venue new 2019 it has less than 20,000km's it has broken down 3 times now with the same issue and had to be towed back to the dealer,it has been back at the dealers now for 10 days waiting for parts. Very unreliable vehicle I am very disappointed with this vehicle would never purchase another Hyundai

leased the 2021 venue based on your excellent reviews. no armrest. no cd player, low horsepower, smaller than my 2018 Elantra SE, easier to get in and out of, lower gas mileage than the 2018 Elantra; it's ok not great. We'll see how it drives in th snow

Good bang for the buck.
I went from two Honda CR-Vs to the 2021 Hyundai Venue. It sits as comfortably and handles better. It gets twice the gas mileage and has a lot more modern feel to it. I like the smooth CVT transmission which allows accurate cruise control at any speeds. Is it a sports car? Not at all, but it's comfortable, efficient, and at 65K reliable so far.
