Used 2011 Hyundai Tucson Consumer Reviews
Great car, I would buy it again.
My wife and I bought this as our very first new car together. We bought the AWD as we live in Michigan and winters can be a bit hectic sometimes. In town we average around 22 mpg. Not bad, but highway is anywhere from 26-34 mpg, depending on how heavy your foot is. When we cruise at 55-65 mph is where we really get between 32-34 mpg. Other than that, it relatively good in the snow and there is plenty of fold down cargo space. If you utilize the trunk, you may be disappointed as there is not much trunk space. Overall it's a great car, 13k on it and not a problem. I'll wait till it hits 60,000 before writing another review.
Great car. Lets hope it stays that way
We bought this car almost exactly a year ago. we have almost 13,000 miles on it and no major problems. The only thing that went wrong is a screw came lose in the visor, but it was replaced under warranty. It has great power and we average 24 mpg city which is great for this size of a car. We did have an issue with the alarm going off and the electrical not working but I figured out that it was the main fuse. So just push it in and all back to normal (this only happened once so I haven't bothered telling the dealer yet). I think thats what has happened to a few others. Otherwise, I love this car. It was a great deal, great ride, and GREAT looks! All around, great car!

ongoing CD troubles 2011 Tucson
We purchased our 2011 Tucson brand new, top of the line, all bells and whistles. It is a great little car and we like almost everything about it...but one problem is driving us nuts! CD player makes a cracking/scratching sound at various intervals of use. We like to listen to audio books but anywhere 20-30 minutes into listening the CD starts making noises. We turn it off and can turn it on to use again after 5-10 minutes until it happens again. This is so disruptive. Hyudai has addressed it by supposedly replacing it 3 different times...each time we continue to have same problem. Our CDs are new, never used.
Stiff
Don't expect to ride cloud 9. My GLS will make running over a mouse feel like a speed bump! Suspension is VERY stiff...and so is the handling...will turn on the blink of an eye. Heating system is so-so. Comfortable for smaller people but as I'm a BIG man, the seats are not built for me. AWD helps in the rain and snow here, which is the major reason I purchased the car.
So far, so good
My Black/Saddle int. 2011 Tucson Limited is just under 3 months old and I've put 7k miles on it. The ride and steering are firm and a tad bouncy, but I love that about it. I went from a gas guzzling, but more powerful Grand Cherokee. My gas mileage is significantly better than my Jeep was, but is not quite the 22/31 on the sticker. I average between 18.5-20 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on hwy trips from Dallas to Austin. I need to point out that I drive the vehicle quite hard as, I sometimes try to make up for the power I was familiar with. I would surely get better mpg if I drove under "normal conditions". Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase!
