2024 Hyundai Sonata Consumer Reviews

Well Built
Smooth driving . Great city and highway driving. Safety systems like my wife’s Mercedes E350. Drivers assistance, emergency breaking, lane tracking. I drive 24,000 miles a year. The car comes with the standard 10 year warranty. I have driven German cars for the last 35 years.. It was time to buy a more reliable and less expensive expensive car. I couldn’t be happier.

WOW.. What a car
I drove the 2025 Toyota Camry hybrid. Toyota dealers have over priced this vehicle way over MSRP…Pass. Drove Mazda, CX3 and CX-5.. Noisy,,sluggish. Drove the Hyundai Sonta SEL and then the limited model. WOW.. what a great car. The limited has a larger engine and more bells and whistles and that is what i purchased. Great on good roads. And what vehicle is great on crappy roads,,right?? Very quiet ride. Great Bose sound system. Easy to use and set up functions and controls. LOVE this car so far. Incredible performance and incredible fuel economy. Great warranty as well. Wish me sucess.

Confusing
I bought the SEL. I traded in my 2015 Hybrid. The dash panel is very confusing and not as user friendly to learn. Sometimes I figure out what radio mode I'm in or how to change it while driving. When you start the car, it asks me to confirm that it is me. Then it takes me to a panel of choices instead of the map, or radio, or another choice. The car talks to me for no reason tell me there is a stop light ahead. (I can see that, thank you). Once the map started giving me instructions and there was nothing entered into it. Etc! On the other hand, it drives nice, quiet, and has some unique feature I really like, like drive assist. It's also very pretty and sporty looking with a beautiful grill and rear. Lots of great features but it's going to be a learning curve which, you can't do while driving.

More comfortable than the Kia K5
I am 6'2" and I feel more comfortable than my previous K5 in the driver's seat. The interior is much nicer as well. THe Bluelink app is awesome, love being able to turn the car on with my phone and set the temperature in the car and my heated seats. Fuel economy is around 52 miles per galon with mostly highway driving

2024 Hyundai sonata hybrid Limited
I don't know where this guy got his info from because I looked at Toyota and I looked at Honda and the sonatas interior is a lot better I found that the Camry and the Accord interior looks like something from 15 years ago... I'm loving this car so far getting great gas mileage and I think the exterior looks better than the accord or the Camry... I've had nothing but good luck with Hyundai products....

Unreliable Sonata
Hate the car. Car is in the Service just about every week since I leased the car almost five months ago - first for a malfunctioning trunk - sometimes it lifts open - sometimes does not. Haven't been able to get it fixed. For the last month, I've been having problems with alert lights coming on the dashboard since the weather started getting cold. Keep getting different reasons why the alerts keep coming up. So far, problem hasn't been resolved after taking it in for service three times. Contacted Hyundai Corp to try either getting the car fixed or have them give me a new car. It's very scary having all these alerts pop up as I'm driving. I'm a senior and depend on my car to get me to places that I need to go on a daily basis. I'm done leasing Hyundai's.

So smooth
The ride is so smooth.. and I previously had a 2022 Sonata. The look is beautiful and the safety features just in 2 years is amazing. I am so happy with my lease.

Missed the boat on new design 12” Display
I have a 2024 Sonata SEL and disappointed with new high tech 12”Display .. display replaced by dealer ( at 5k miles ) ; screen would go black instrument dials lost .. I also complained to dealer regarding the display screen does not allow adequate visibility of the gauges during sunlight hours.. Btw I have had 7 Sonatas since 2006 and This one, the most frustrating at so low mileage.. HES Boston

Sonata gang!!!
Absolutely love our new sonata can’t say anything bad about it love love love it. The new look the dash price and warranty make it win!!!!!!
Best hybrid on the market!!
I am 6'2" and can fit comfortably on the driver's seat. The updated exterior and interior makes this car feel more expensive than what it actually is. It has a ton of safety features, bluelink app works great and is a must to set up your temperature before getting in the car for those cold mornings on winter and hot afternoons in the summer. Apple Car Play and Android Auto are quick to connect. The wireless charging pad is nice but not the fastest (I prefer charging my phone wired since it is faster). You get a lot of features for the value of the car. Not a huge fan of the rims design but that just personal preference, I do wish the Limited Hybrid came with AWD.

Luxury & Great MPG and thoughts after 1,000 miles
After reviewing how much we were spending on gas we decided we should purchase a hybrid to help save on gas expenditures and we would sell my Ranger. We are getting 48.6 MPG with mainly city driving (wow). The car is very comfortable and luxurious inside and out. Love the styling. The car is very roomy for my family (6'1, 5'10, 5'4 & 5'2) no one complains about leg room. I love the ease of use technology it does a great job walking your through each step. I love the digital key 2 so that I don't need the key fob just my watch or phone. Great sound from the Bose stereo. The ride is very comfortable and more of a luxury ride - not a sport ride. Quiet cabin, very impressed by Hyundai. Things that could be improved seat adjustment on the passenger seat - there is none but the seat is at a good height wife is 5'4 and it good for her. She said no to the Accord because the passenger seat was so low. I would like that my drive mode would always be selected to my last mode, and auto bright lights would always be on. Other than that it's great. Pricing wise I was able to purchase the more loaded Limited for the same price for an Accord EX-L that was missing a lot the option I know have.

Mostly good
It’s a beautiful sedan. It handled well. The sound is good. I have not had problems in that regard. BUT, it’s uncomfortable. I like to sit close up. My head is always hitting the sun visor! And I am only 5’4” tall. In past Sonatas, I could place my purse to the left side of my car seat. This one has no room for a purse. I had to throw it in the back. A man obviously designed this car. My husband says the seats are not comfortable. We sold it after a year and went with another brand.
Best car I ever owned
I specifically waited to get my 2024 Sonata hybrid Limited in white with the camel interior. I was not disappointed. It is loaded with safety features that keep me safe. I use the adaptive cruise control everywhere and it stops when the car in front of me stops and goes when the car in front goes. The cooled seats are great and I can start the car with my phone app (since I live in FL, this is very important in the summer).I am averaging 48 MPG. The acceleration is not like a Corvette, but it is certainly adequate for merging onto a highway. The only thing I think Hyundai could have put on the car is a passenger seat that adjusts up and down. With everything else that is offered on this car, they could have done that. Let's see how long it lasts before any problems come up.

Sonata N line
Unbelievable sporty 4 door sedan who fornthe price can match up with any european or american sports car in that same category
Holy cow - what a surprise!
My first hybrid sedan after being spoiled with a full size luxury ICE sedan. I drove and considered the top 4 ranked hybrids and chose the Sonata Limited for value, tech features, comfort and mileage. BEST CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED. I am shocked at how good Hyundai has done with their cars - and my dealer experience has been more impressive than Lexus in the 90’s. If you are looking for a hybrid sedan - drive this car.
I love my car!
I love everything in the car to the interior to the outside. I also love how spacious it is and all the car features.

A true lemon!
Bought brand new from the dealer. No miles when purchased and 600 miles into it, all 4 fuel injectors fail and there are no parts and no time frame to repair. 690 miles, never heard of anything like this??
Grey Ghost
Good reliable car and is comfortable to drive. There is plenty of leg room for all passengers and the cruise control does an excellent job at keeping the car at a safe distance from the car in front. The apple car play is nice too use as wel as the dual climate controls.

Snappy ride
I have a 24 SEL with option package. I think if I had it to do over again I would have gotten the base SEL and saved 3k. I never use the sun roof and the panoramic roof is just for show but does not help the driver at all. I had a 22 SEL base I was really enjoying but when the new design came out I got one. Again I would forgo the extra weight the option package adds. The car has typical four cylinder performance until you press it. That's when the extra displacement really kicks in and you find you will be passing most newer car with 1.5 displacement . No turbo needed here which is good for long term maint issues..

MIGHT FLY ON HIGHWAY
The tech features for the price are impressive, but the ride quality and use of lower-grade plastic are noticeable. It tends to drift at speeds above 65 mph, and it's not suitable for challenging weather due to its lightweight build. Driving in rainy or stormy conditions is risky, and the engine power is lacking. I'm disappointed with this Sonata model, especially considering how exceptional the previous generation was.

Gotcha!! Is what they did to me
I have had several leases with hyundai in the last 5 years and need to start learning how to say NO when I return a vehicle. The steering wheel is absolutely brutal on this sedan. My hands ache and are exhausted after 3 miles of driving. I can’t wait to get out of the vehicle. The gear placement in this 2024 Sonata may be the dumbest piece of engineering I have seen. You need to turn the steering wheel and look for the gears. Hyundai sells this for $29k?? I expected more from this company. The car is extremely over-priced and everything about looks and is cheap. The key fob may be sold at the dollar store if you happen to lose the one you have. I am pretty much done with Hyundai. Will be shifting all my business over to Mazda. You get better vehicles for less cost.

2024 Sonata-Fantastic
Just got a 2024 Sonata SEL and it is fantastic. Just switched form a Cadillac CT5 and must admit that the Sonata has a better ride, more tech features, more storage and a really cool unique look. In addition, the price is great compared to all the other similar vehicles. I would recommend getting the convenience package which adds all the bells and whistles that anyone would want. This is the car to get.

Good to Go / So Far So Good
Purchased the 24 Sonata Hybrid Limited Trim last week. Bought the Car in Killeen and drove it home about 200 miles on the back roads of Texas. (Farm to Market (FM) Rodes). The FM roads are not great, but I enjoyed the drive back home. The seats felt very comfortable. I have never owned a sedan, always SUV or Trucks, and I have bought a bunch of new cars in my day. With the exception of bumping my head getting out a couple times, that is just a learning event on how to exit the vehicle. I bought a used Venue a couple Christmas ago. That car performs so well, I was looking hard at this brand. We love everything about our Limited Trim, Transmission Blue (Pearl) exterior Paint with Light Gray Interior Sonata Hybrid! Who can beat Hyundai Warranty? Nobody.
Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited
So far the car performs above expectations. Quiet ride, smooth driving, and the electronics are out of this world. The LED light across the dashboard and driver and passenger side doors are sweet at night. Head Up Display is very convenient and assists with safe driving with speed, cars left and right notice, sign identification, speed notice, and navigation all in the head up display. Leather is a great touch. Heated/Cooling Seats, Remote starting, and led lights in the front and rear. Side mirror notification and camera when utilizing the blinkers. This car has everything. You will not be disappointed.

2024 Sonata Limited Hybrid
I love this car. It's quiet, the ride is very compliant, handles like a dream, and given that I have a very heavy foot, I am averaging 45 miles per gallon. You cannot tell when the electric motor kicks in and all the new upgrades are fantastic. Dollar for dollar, you cannot beat this car. The interior puts Honda and Toyota to shame. Honda and Toyota have really fallen short on their interiors and they both cost more than the Hyundai. The Limited interior is elegant and almost Mercedes Benz quality. My only complaint about the seats is the firmness. A little too firm for my skinny posterior.

What a headache
Vehicle issues upon purchase. Stranded in another state with a shifter malfunction, then again before going to work. All to learn that despite the dashboard telling me I need service immediately, absolutely no codes pertaining to the problem show up claims the dealer. Hyundai just edits out engine codes to get around lemon laws. Take pictures of your dashboard as I learned from others with the same issue. It's been in repair nearly a month now because the wiring harness is bad.

Not the 2021 Sonata
I traded in a 2021 Sonata Limited. It had features that are no longer available with the 2024 Sonata Hybrid. There is no spare tire. They expect you to repair the tire leak with a kit they provide...pathetic! There is no rear view mirror that has buttons on it that opens the garage door...pathetic. The Navigation system does not even come close to the one that was on the 2021 Sonata. They have deleted many of the good options so they could keep the price reasonable...they are not reasonable...my next car will be a Toyota Crown...period!
