While milage drop during the winter 24 city / 32 highway, it gets good when it worm up. Last trip from Iowa to Salt Lake City I got 36.7 avg while using cruise control at 80 mph. Comming back I drop the speed to 72 mph and use my skill to see what can I get out of this car. My average was 40.6 mpg. Now that I own this car for few year, here is on update. I am steel happy with the car but... there are few annoying things about it that I tolerate because i old now. You must be patient when you starting up the car, it takes couple of seconds before is ready. The seatbelts are hard to close and open because of positioning. There is hesitation on acceleration. It takes very long time to warmup. The electronic steering make you work harder to keep the car on the road. The gas mileage depends on the driver. It seems that car adjust to the driver driving style and it takes some time to reset to your driving style. Overall I am steel happy with the car and recommend if you can live with the limitations. It is a old men car. I am now at 126K miles. At 100K i replace trans fluid and antifreeze. I also run on third set of tires. The 12 V battery original and still good. The front brake pads only half way used. Other then oil changes tires and windshield wipers i did nothing to this car.

I only had my '13 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid for 6 weeks before it was totaled by someone running a red light. The car did what is was supposed to and protected my son and I from serious injury. The airbags went off and even the body shop said it fared very well for the impact it received. I enjoyed the car and think you get a lot for your money. The gas mileage was a little disappointing, but it had better than expected acceleration up hills. I think it has great styling and looks a lot like a Lexus. My only other complaint would be the gas pedal had a strange placement, I felt I had to have my seat too close in order to comfortable press on the gas pedal.

Bottom line over half my car payment is going to be made by the money I am saving on gasoline. I have gone from driving a truck that gets 15mpg on its best day to a car that I can see is getting 38mpg in the city and over 40mpg on my 25mile trip home from work. I am extremely pleased with the handling. It has a smooth transition from electric to gas engine. Most of the time I don't even know it happened. I did go with the leather package and I am extremely pleased with the interior design. Plenty of room, and stylish. The exterior design is great as well with a cool set of lights. I would love to have a different set of wheels but that is avail. for a little more money. Very satisfied!

Very nice car. I actually get much better performance and mileage if I turn the blue drive off. In the city I get approximately 29mpg with blue drive, and 31 with blue drive turned off. Additionally the blue drive makes the car feel sluggish to drive, which goes away for the most part if you turn it off. unfortunately you have to turn it off every time you start the car. The only thing I do not like is the low prices these are selling on the used market. I guess it is a good thing for people who are planning to buy it used. An amazing car for the price on the used market.

We bought this car strictly for the fuel economy. We were trading up from a 23mpg vehicle to a 40mpg car. We have never gotten more tha 35mpg with an average of 30.1mpg. I normally never buy new, and I will not buy a hybrid ever again. Knowing then what i know now i would have bought the cheaper turbo model. We are very disapointed with the MPG.
