Enjoyed 07 model and how a 2018

I enjoyed every mile of my 07 Elantra and have thus far no reason not to expect the same of my 18 model. The 18 model had a 'compact' familiar feel when driving and really responsive like the 07, a strong selling point for me. The 'bad' was in discovering later just how much less cubby hole room the 18 has in comparison! The seat shape however for me is a HUGE plus compared to the 07. I economized to the cloth seats from the leather seats which I do miss as pet/horse hair does NOT just brush off! (I do cover upholstery anyway but it still is evident.) I do not understand why manufacturers tend NOT to use HARD to scuff plastic on door panels and foot areas!?? For glare/reflection reasons a black interior is a big plus, in consideration of dust etc., black is NOT a plus. I currently have just shy of a 1000 miles on my 18 and am really enjoying the driving experience of the 18 model. The cruise control is MUCH more precise and responsive compared to the 07. I am really impressed with the quicker auto shifting (in ECO mode too)! I drive many hills and a big grade frequently. I too enjoy the ability to shift up or down when applicable. The acceleration is much better than the 07 by a good bit! Actually 'shocks' me at times :) My mileage is largely consistent with my profession and I've already noticed a significant difference in going longer between fill ups than the 07, YEAH! Getting used to the computer system has taken some persistence and I'm still learning though 'getting along' better with it. MISS a CD player! I was glad to see a UCB port and an auxiliary plug. The variety of comfort related controls is nice and enjoying my moon/sun roof :)) and the THREE settings for heat in the front seats! The suspension system buffers quite a bit more than the 07 which is very nice, even on wash board roads! However I miss the additional road feel I had in the 07 especially when frequently driving a curvy highway. Pros/cons... can't have it all.... Overall being tuned into details when I am driving, I am really impressed with the performance of the 2018 Elantra. (The leather steering wheel was a bit 'slippery' so I rubbed in a hand lotion with my normal addition of liquid lanolin. Problem solved :) ) Thus far I've only had a chance to get a combined rural city driving and hwy figure for mpg. Though I 'gave up' a leather interior, the performance of the car makes up for it and I walked out paying just 1800 more than I did for my 07 brand new (both having extended warranties)!

Bought this car 3 weeks ago and love it!!! The safety features alone got me, back up camera and side detection are spot on. Never felt more comfortable driving and I like I can go from Eco to Regular with ease, especially on the highway. Sport is a bit to fast for my liking, but can't wait to take this car on a road trip! I really enjoy the android hookup for navigation, music and phone calls. Definitely takes technology in a car to a new level and love the 7in display. For my vanity I got the electric blue, its such a sharp option especially with a sun roof. Lastly the mpg is great for fuel economy and the warranty beats many others.

Let me start by saying how much I love this car. I use my Elantra to commute to school and back daily. I am in the marching band, so when I leave the house it's dark at 6 in the morning. The headlights work great! Probably the only complaint I have about the car is that the shiny plastics are so easy to scratch. So if you are looking for this review before buying the car, NEVER, NOT EVER, USE A MICROFIBER CLOTH! Other than that, the "Batmobile" as I call it, is like a limo for me. I wax it monthly and keep it in tip-top shape. It may be a 21 thousand dollar car, but I treat it like its 80. Also, I love the fuel economy. In the morning when I am driving to school, 39 MPG is my average.

This is my first Hyundai ever, after driving a Jeep Wrangler for 7 years. I love this car. It’s great on gas, quiet, and comfortable. The ride is so smooth.....a year later, and I still feel the same.
