The 2025 Nissan Frontier is a midsize truck facing increasingly stiff competition. Two of its biggest competitors, the Toyota Tacoma and Chevrolet Colorado, were recently redesigned and the Colorado was named Edmunds Top Rated Truck. Nissan hasn't released any information on the 2025 Frontier, but we aren't expecting any major changes to the midsize pickup that was redesigned in 2022.
Edmunds spotlight: The Frontier could use an update
The Nissan Frontier currently outranks just one midsize truck in Edmunds' ratings: the Ford Ranger. Though we find the interior well appointed, the back seat is significantly less roomy than those in the Chevy Colorado and Honda Ridgeline. We also like the Frontier's powerful engine and comfortable ride but its capabilities don't stand out in this competitive group.
Competitors to consider
The newly redesigned Chevrolet Colorado took Edmunds Top Rated Truck honors for 2024, while the Honda Ridgeline has long been a favorite of Edmunds staffers. The Toyota Tacoma has also been recently redesigned, making competition for the Frontier tougher than ever.
