Awesome company provided car
This car was bought as a company car by the company for me. MPG were a huge reason for the purchase and I am observing about 32 mpg (not the 42 Hyundai says you will get) however I do not drive with ECO on. Either way, this car is very comfortable for subcompact standards and is packed with features, again for subcompact standards. Personally I own a full size 07 GMC and 09 Maxima, so I know comfort. That considered, it drives very well and induces grins while driving. I recently took a trip from Raleigh NC to Balimore MD in this car and was very comfortable the entire way, keeping in mind that I am a 6'2" 290lb man. All in all, Hyundai hit the mark with this one.
No spare shocker!
I love this car but I was not "surprised" there was no spare tire, I was down-right pissed. I took a road trip over New Year's and when I was heading back home, discovered there wasn't a spare tire!! Who does this!! What idiot S. Korean engineer dreamed this one up? Scenario: Me and my wife and son hit road debris at night on the freeway which shreds the tire. I'm frantically looking up and down for the spare which doesn't exist. Bang, lights out. I guess Hyundai thinks a tire inflater will fix this. Wrong! This is inexcusable and is a safety hazard plain and simple. I'm notified the dealer, Hyundai and I think I'm going to contact a federal agency to complain.
Almost Perfect
Very impressed with this car. No other hatchbacks come close to the new Accent with regards to fuel economy and warranty. Responsive handling and enough pep that I feel confident entering the freeways. The interior is roomy and quiet, the A/C works great on even the lowest two settings, and that's saying a lot in Phoenix summer heat! I only averaged 34 MPG until I filled up at Chevron, then my MPG jumped to 36-37 mixed and 41 highway. I'm not a schill for Chevron and don't work for them, but that's the only gas I'll use now.
Hyundai proves again that they are a company to be noticed....
Awesome! Is the word to describe Hyundai's latest redesign of it's entry level vehicle.... First of all let me say that finding a vehicle that fits a over 6' tall male and a 5' female can be a challenge, especially from a driving position point-of-view. No problems here...seat, steering wheel, interior headroom and leg room are all generous....I can even fit in the back seat comfortably! The 138 hp direct fuel-injected engine is very willing and has plenty of passing power on the highway. In my opinion, the car rides as nice or better than Hyundai's own redesigned Elantra (which is not direct fuel injected). Fit and finish both inside and out are class equal to it's competition.
Great little runabout
