We just went from a 2014 CRV EX-L to a 2019 Pilot EX-L. What a huge improvement in ride, sound, etc. My biggest surprise is that the MPG we are getting with the much larger Pilot is better than the CRV. With 12000 miles - get 28-30 mpg on highway at 75 mph.

First New Car -- We love it!

My wife and I had low expectations for the Honda Pilot going into our car search. Since it wasn't rated nearly as high as some of the other Mid-Size SUVs, we just didn't have high hopes. It was maybe #3 or #4 on our short list. But one day, we had some extra time, so we went to go test drive it. Long story short, we fell in love with all of the features and how everything was so easy-to-use. We ended up buying the car and have had it for about a month now. The nine-speed engine is so smooth, the space is tremendous, the towing is great, and all of the entertainment features make for a fun ride while road-tripping or moving (which we have done both already). The safety features are also very handy. My wife and I always fight over who gets to drive the car to work because we both love it so much.

I have been in the service department more in the last year than you could even imagine. First started with the collusion feature, going done the road my car would break and pull toward the white line. The service department had to reset everything, still not working 100%. Then my bumper had to be replaced because it was not attached on driver side. Service said it was faulty. Third problem, my hands free would drop calls if I started the call before the car was on. Last, my information display locked up. No hands free phone, text, radio or back-up camera. I am done, I looked into the information display, there is a class action suit against Honda. I have 20,000 miles on my vehicle, plans are trading it in very soon.

I love the car! My only minor complaint is the front window defroster. It takes a ling time to clear it and I've to keep the windshield going until I can clearly see it.

7,500 miles on the 2019 Pilot Touring with only a couple items to think about. The ride is smooth and the cabin quiet. The rear suspension thumps and can be annoying although it doesn't seem to affect the handling. The radio/information center freezes and goes silent every so often and then doesn't turn off the display when you turn off the car - but like any computer, Ctrl/Alt/Del on a key board plugged into the usb port can remedy this. So carry a keyboard with you. While there is a lot about this problem on the internet and also a class action law suit, Honda Dealer still claims to know nothing about the problem. The third row seat is better than some others out there but not recommended for adults during a long trip. Gas mileage has been better than the Honda figures provided. Not a fan of this particular start/stop system so usually turn it off (which must be done each time you start the car). The addition a radio volume knob this year is a big plus but wish they had added a tuning knob as well. Apple Car Play works well and one reason for the Pilot over the Highlander (not offered) as well as for the 3rd row leg room). Wish the top trim had the 2nd row bench seat as an option. Overall the Pilot has been good so far (except for radio/information system). Well worth a look if you are considering a mid-priced SUV with 3 rows of seating. 18,000 mile update: The Pilot continues to be a good choice. On the next trip to the dealer I will be having them check out wind noise at highway speed from the driver's door. Suspect there maybe something amiss with the weather strip. Still miss the radio tuning nob. The head lights on this trim are LED and light up the road well. Still learning more about what the radio/information system can do and find the voice command aspect works well. Haven't had the "radio system" freeze up lately - maybe the latest update fixed it. The handling and ride are more of a luxury vehicle than a sports vehicle which is why I choose the Pilot over a Mazda or other SUV.

We have had this vehicle for a few months now, and I already look forward to trading it. We bought a Pilot after trading our old gas-guzzling truck based SUV. After shopping Subaru, Toyota, Kia and Nissan, we finally settled on the Pilot for its high ratings and resale. While the Pilot’s interior space and functionality is great, the driving experience is so poor that’s its almost physically exhausting. The acceleration when passing on the highway is abysmal; with a hesitation of several seconds after flooring the accelerator before the car actually decides to move....it’s borderline dangerous is some situations. There is also hesitation accelerating from stops that can be attributed to both the auto start/ stop and the transmission. This is the most poorly executed auto start/ stop systems I’ve ever wxperonced. It’s takes a good 2-3 seconds before the car is ready to go after lifting your foot off the Brooke pedal. We have also experienced an occasional, loud “ping” that can be heard and felt through the accelerator....it sounds like you’ve broken something! Turns out it’s the variable displacement system kicking on. Add to that a jittery/ ride and numb steering and it’s just a completely demoralizing experience. Although this car checks all the right boxes in paper, it certainly does not drive or ride like a $45k vehicle. I find myself feeling exhausted and fatigued after driving this vehicle through traffic or on long trips, you feel like you’ve been battling the vehicle to MOVE the entire time. It feels lazy and sluggish, like driving a cheap rental car.

Third Honda and first Honda SUV

I'm 69 and have some knee issues, so exit/entry as well as long distance comfort were very important to me. I also was having more occasions when I would drift towards the lane lines. This 2019 Pilot LX ends my concerns. All the safety features are super. It helps keep me centered in the lane even when rounding curves. Also has a great rear view camera, even better than the 2017 Ridgeline I traded in, which I thought was good to begin with. I needed help securing the child seat in the third row but son had no issue. The only issue I have is a sound in the rear end that occurs when you go over some bumps in the road. I thought it was possible due to the spare tire being loose. I took it to dealer, rode with a tech. and he heard it but wasn't sure if it was unusual. We took another Pilot out on same route and did get the same result. So, that sound is annoying to me and may lessen with a load, but there must be something that can reduce or eliminate it. I find far more outside noise entering the cabin when windows are closed. It’s really annoying. I must say that the noise may be the result of the visors I installed. Since my first review an issue has occurred. The windows no longer all open when using the key fob and the driver's window will only open or close by holding the button; no continuous movement. I did purchase an extended warranty because there are many electronic features which likely will fail after the manufacturer warranty is ended, and I'm certain they are expensive. Otherwise I still really love this vehicle.

Honda Sensors and reliability

Honda sensing can be thrown off by extra lines on the road. The sensor behind the front bumper freezes up in the snow and the safety sensor quits working all together, this happens in the snow a lot. It is still very safe to drive when this happens and when in snow mode it is probably the safest car on the road. You can use the Siri on your iPhone for great navigation, but not so great for anything else, if you want to ask siri any questions you only get the answer that the car is moving so she can't answer any of your questions which has become very annoying. I have noticed that some of the exterior features are missing that were on the prior exl models such as roof rails to put crossbars on. Since my earlier review the electronics went out in the vehicle, it went in for repair several times and after 3 weeks could not be fixed. They replaced the mirror computer and then the main computer and then got totally different codes. They could not get it corrected so my only solution was to trade it in for a 2020 model. To upgrade one year was a $10000 dollar cost. Twenty five percent of the cars value for one year use seemed a little high.

Our 9th Honda in 12 years. Within 3 days the media screen started to refresh during drive. Within 2 weeks it became more consistent and after 40 days it became permanent. Apperantly there is a software issue that will take 3-4 months to repair. Honda doesnt care. It told us to keep driving like this until it will have update. I have never believed Honda will go this low in term of service to its loyal customers. I am hearing that more Pilots has this issue and Honda and dealers are aware of it but don't reveal to customers. **buyers be aware** Honda will ignore your complaints completely and will not help you with loan car while your precious new purchase sitting idle at dealer lot waiting for update. This shock me to the core to learn that Honda provide such bad service when its customers need it. Shame on Honda.

While driving between 25-30 mph in town where you have stop and go driving the transmission hard hard hard shifts. If we had know this we would not have bought the 2019 Honda Pilot touring. Honda has a problem and needs to fix it. Service manager said it is normal to shift like that, I told him it is bull!!!. We have had the car for 1 year and have 20,000 miles on it. Before this car we had a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder and I wish we would of went back with the pathfinder..

The 8 passenger I didn't realize it was not 8 adults. 2 kids a one adult in the 3rd row is not comfortable. Plus 3 adults, one behind the other hardly leaves leg room. The acceleration is a little sluggish. Some times it takes a while to get up to speed. The rear suspension is a little weak. If you put 8 people in it, you head lights are high beaming people. The high beam and low beam are not that much different. Not a lot of head room or leg room in the 3rd row for adults

Based on research I had narrowed my interest to the Pilot and Ascent, w Pilot Touring being my first choice. I liked the looks of the Pilot especially the front. I was hoping that the car would meet or exceed my expectations and would purchase it after a test drive. Unfortunately it did not. I found the seats just OK and short on support and a little hard. There was little lower thigh support. I also found leg room on the drivers side was uncomfortable while driving. I am average height. I asked the sales man a couple of times if the seat went back any further. The rear seats were just OK and I found entering and exiting the rear was not as easy as in other vehicles when the front seat was all the way back. With the 20" wheels I did feel a lot of the road bumps. It did handle good and was relatively quiet. The engine start stop was not a distraction. I did find the lane assist bothersome. Perhaps you do get used to it. As soon as we started onto the highway you could feel it working in the steering. I thought it was extremely sensitive to the slightest movement of the car. While it was a short drive I came away thinking I really did not like the way the system interacted, felt like it was taking over the steering. I would probably prefer a system that gave a warning light vs the system impacting the steering wheel. The Pilot is a nice looking vehicle but comfort wise it was not for me. I ended up going to the Subaru dealer and as soon as I sat in the driver's seat I felt the difference in seating comfort as well as front leg room. Their seats will extend out giving you more or less thigh support. It is slightly bigger than the Pilot. Test drive was great, ride was quiet, and even with 20" tires I did not feel the bumps like I did in the Pilot. So I purchased the Ascent.

The electronic safety features and new radio system and poorly thought out and not reliable. The adaptive cruise control is slow to respond and the brakes more than needed at the default settings. Becomes a bit better if you set the distance to the lowest (closest) following distance, but then you do end up closer to the rear bumper of car in front than you would like. The crash avoidance system has way to many false detections and is beeping just because there is oncoming traffic, but at least it doesn't jam on the brakes. The Sirius radio was terrible but has gotten better since the recall for firmware update which at least made it much more reliable. The tire pressure monitoring system repaired and now seems stable. All of these feature were present in my old 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and were much better designed and more reliable than in the Pilot, and that is disappointing. At least they were free on the Pilot, so I guess you get what you pay for. Ground clearance is too low and steering and handling are not great. I would not buy again!

Just bought our 2019 Honda Pilot Elite with lots of additional accessories. We absolutely hate the car now that we’ve had it for a month. The navigation system is not great, waze is much better. Sensors for out of lane are WAY TOO SENSITIVE!! and pull on the steering wheel constantly. Our Subaru is way better! The rear entertainment system is horrid, our boys can’t listen to fM or any other music unless we have WiFi and we didn’t plan on buying it past the free month. So they listen to what we listen to. Can’t turn the air on just for them, like we used to in the odyssey either everyone gets the air or no one does. Rear headphone are terrible. We can’t talk upfront while the boys watch a movie, they hear everything. Skip the Honda Pilot.....I miss my Odyssey!

Transmittion not Honda quality.

I have owned a lot of Honda's in my day and have to tell you I have never been more disappointed with this car. I purchased the 2019 Touring model with the 9 speed transmission. I later found out this is a German made transmittion. Not made by Honda. I have never been a fan of high maintenance German made products. There is definitely a performance improvement between the 9 speed and the 6 speed which is why I purchased the Touring 9 speed model. What I do not like is the transmission is jerky and when you put the car in park it tends to roll forward or back, particularly if you are on a hill and take your foot off the brake. I was told by the dealer this was normal but have never experienced this with all the other Honda's I have owned. The engine runs noisier, which the sales people will tell you its because Honda upgraded the engine. Sounds like something needs fixing. The idle stop feature, standard on touring, drives me crazy. I know they are trying to save fuel but I am sure the consumer ends up paying for it in repair costs by wearing out the starter prematurely, etc. There is no way of turning this off permanently. You have to shut it off every time you start up the car. The lower models do not have this feature. The touring model also comes with the 20" wheels which are a stiffer ride than the 18" wheels. Lastly, I do not like the bench seat second row option. This center is attached to the drivers side seat and cannot be adjusted independently. Go with the captains chairs. If I had to do it again, I would go with the step down. Softer ride, no idle stop, 6 speed transmission which I believe is built by Honda. But my next car will not be a Honda. So sad.

At first glance, this was the perfect SUV for me. I have had numerous Honda’s in the past and appreciate the quality and value offered by the brand. However, this car fell short of my expectations in a few ways. First, the auto engine shut off feature is terrible. It’s choppy and irregular, and I found it disruptive while driving. This can be turned off but must be done so every time you turn the car on and drive which is a pain. It was so noticeable even passengers asked if there was something wrong with the car. Then there is the lane assist feature. It randomly sees things that aren’t there, lights up the dashboard and vibrates the wheel while there isn’t a need. I can’t figure it out but I hypothesize it’s because the way the sensors perceive light because it’s noticeably worse on sunny days. Next, the brakes are loud and vibrate when stopping from highway speeds. The dealer tried addressing this by shaving down the rotors which did nothing. The infotainment system (as others have mentioned) is outdated and malfunctions from time to time. It still has a Blue Ray player...It’s also limited in cargo space in the back with all the seats up. I have a large family and the limited cargo space became a problem. Things I really liked were the panoramic moon roof (but it can’t be opened), and the interior is nice, I have no complaints there. The exterior is also very nice looking; however, I noticed that my trunk was not perfectly aligned with the rear quarter panels. It is something that I hated looking at especially in lighting where it would cast a small shadow in that area. One more thing is the transmission...it doesn’t shift smoothly and jerks occasionally around 30mph. And finally, there is a chirping noise as the engine idles (worse in cold temps) that drives me nuts! Honda said it was just an engine noise? It was extremely annoying. I had diagnostics done on all the issues and Honda said it was all fine. I’d rate this car 3 stars to be on the generous side. It’s excellent in the snow, so there’s that. I ended up trading it for an AWD Toyota Sienna and so far I really love it. Overall if you are in the market for an SUV, I think there are better options than this model for $50k. Hopefully future models are an improvement from this one.

I have owned many Pilots over the years (2003, 2004, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015) and now a 2019 Elite. After driving it for 1,300 miles, I can say that this one is the best ever! The ride comfort, handling, acceleration, and overall feel of the vehicle is excellent. The cabin is quiet and I really like the transmission. My only complaint is that the front seat is not quite as comfortable as the previous generations, but that is just my opinion. This car is top-notch so far.... Update: 10k miles and it’s still awesome!

19 Honda Pilot EX CMBS Error Message

Purchased a brand new 2019 Honda Pilot EX. At 2000 miles the Collision Mitigation Braking System activated(braked slightly) for no reason. Car was clean, weather was sunny. About 2 weeks later the following message appeared: "The Collision Mitigation Braking System has a problem. Have your vehicle checked by a dealer". I went to the dealer and the tech said since the error had cleared there was not much they could do. I had the first oil changed at 3000 miles a few days ago. I did not mention the issue to see if the invoice would say software updated of something like that. Nothing was listed. I had this same exact issue with a 2018 Honda CRV EX-L about a year ago except the CRV braked very hard on a sunny day with nothing in front of me. Let me tell you that when that occured I almost S**t myself. I traded in the new CRV for my old 2013 Pilot which cost me thousands of dollars over what it was worth. The 2013 Honda Pilot never gave me any problems. This new 2019 pilot handles great and is great in every way except it is very disappointing to have this problem again.

Yesterday, I was going to trade my 2013 Honda Pilot AWD EX-L for same, except it being a 2019. I walked out when I found out the following: 1. no longer does the Pilot come with a towing hitch. Honda justifies that because never everyone wants one, so let's keep the price down by not installing one automatically. 2. Ok, I understand that logic, but when it comes to the navigation option, you can not get it now unless you buy the Rear Entertainment System, which I don't want nor would I ever use it (the car is for my wife and I, both retired). Hence Honda is not consistent. 3. I was also interested in purchasing a 2019 over my 2013 because I would be able to play my 256GB and 2TB music USB drives as well as SSD, once they are formatted to FAT32, which I can play on my wife's 2018 CRV. Guess what, they won't on any Pilot, but will on CRV's. Called Honda Corp. and asked why. They weren't surprised. Three dealerships didn't believe me. Never got a clear answer, other than Pilots are for outdoors people, and don't need it, while the CRV is for families who listen to lots of music. HUH Now looking for another car company. Have owned Honda's since '94, so has my daughter, mother-in-law and brother-in-law. They get my old ones. Not any more.

MY RETIREMENT HONDA ELITE

Beautiful SUV Honda Pilot Elite, I shopped around (Danville and Greensboro) Danville best deal . The best way is to save some money to make a good down payment so the monthly payments would not be too high , . The Elite is top of the line SUV, that is what I got for us, there are less expensive Honda's, and that was to be my retirement gift. So I got it for me and my wife. We own 2008 Civic, 2006 Ridgeline (bought new in 2005), 2005 Honda motorcycle and now a 2019 Honda Pilot. Still drive them all. None have over 160,000 on them. Our first new car was a Honda Accord, my son wreck it. Honda's are like your kids, you will always love them, no matter what happens. The right sales person can help you all the way through. I'm a true believer in, a Honda is a great name and car. Sincerely The Ringgold Kid

Gas mileage is okay, 20 to 22 mpg average, about 25 on highway. Comfortable and powerful, and the safety features took some getting used to. I like it better as time goes on.

Rough idle when I first crank it. Air condition outside/inside vent will not close, Possible exhaust leak because it smells like exhaust while I’m driving it cant close vent so I outta luck. Uncomfortable, right arm no center consul one level left arm door rest another level puts a kink in the back. Touch panel is a PIA. Interior feels cheap. AC compressor turns off and on every 2 minutes regardless or temp setting.fdlll update! 05sept, it was recalled and honda bought it back for what i paid for it 2 years prior. it ran like crap, if it ran at allit stayed broken longer than it worked.

The safety features like braking and lane assist etc are EXTREMELY over sensitive and dangerous as it brakes suddenly for no reason. Then I had a rare part failure to the tune of over $800 to repair ! The trunk latch assembly that also has the camera in it suddenly failed on a 2 year old car. Really HONDA? On top of it the trunk does not have any safety trunk release like other cars do. So in order for me to use my trunk again, i have to spend $800 on a 2.5 yr old car. I'm furious and looking to turn it in. I have always bought Hondas with no major issues but this one was the result of poor quality. They have had trunk latch issues on many Pilots and Passports of earlier years and the engineers are not smart enough to design one that won't fail and wont cost a huge sum to fix. It should have never failed to begin with. Plus they made the assembly with the camera in it so of course it costs more. They didn't have to design it that way. Looks like complaints pouring in about the safety features built in that you cant turn off from many Honda owners. Gee I wonder what manufacturer I will buy my next car with? It won't be a Honda.

Let me start by saying that some may consider me old at 63,however I'm not so old as to need a babysitter and that's what this vehicle is. Honda sensing is terrible. The forward camera sees vehicles in the other lane and goes nuts. I've had it shake the steering wheel and apply the brakes as well as randomly turning off the cruise control. On 3 different occasions it completely locked up the brakes and on 2 of those I was almost rear ended. On a road trip one day I came upon a car backing out of their driveway, they stopped about 4 feet from the end of their driveway and the pilot skidded to a stop on it's own. I don't know who it scared more but they looked at me like I was stupid. Been back to the dealership a half dozen times to complain to no avail. Otherwise it's a Honda, it should last virtually forever if I can stand it.

Major phone and audio problems! Beware!

I had a 2009 Pilot which performed like a champ. Drove it 250,000 miles before deciding to upgrade to the newest model. It drives fine, but the issues with connecting the phone via Bluetooth and Apple Car Play make me hate this car. The audio for the phone constantly stops working, forcing me to disconnect the phone and use the speakerphone feature. I can hear the person on the other end, but they can’t hear me. I have switched between Car Play and Bluetooth, but the same problem happens in both modes. I have upgraded all of the software in the car and my phone, but this did not solve the problem. I also reset the system to factory defaults, but the problems continued. When this occurs, the radio also stops working and says no audio source is available. The radio won’t work again until I park the car for 30 minutes. This is really annoying on long drives. If they could fix the audio problems, I would be happy. Check YouTube for other owners having the same problem. I took it back into the dealership in September of 2021, and they still cannot fix it. Come on Honda! Fix it!

Beware the infotainment system - snap, crackle, po

I would strongly discourage anyone from buying a 2019 Pilot (EX and up) until they fix the infotainment system. Everything was fine until about 3,000 miles, and then it started with random static from the speakers, especially the front tweeters. Usually occurs first thing in the morning, and happens when you lock or unlock the doors. It also seems to be susceptible to external interference that we have not been able to pinpoint. It will just pop or make a static noise. The infotainment system will also shut down unexpectedly, going completely black. The last time it happened I was driving 30 miles per hour on straight smooth road. I heard a loud pop (hurt my ears) and the radio went silent and the screen went black. After about 5 seconds it rebooted. The static issue does not appear to be related to heat, elevation, or humidity, and is pretty consistent. The dealer said they couldn't recreate the problem, but read the internet boards, it is a commonly known issue. In fact there is a proposed class action suit. I think the issue is either they don't know how to fix it, or the cost of the fix is more than they want to absorb. Do not make the same mistake of buying one of these vehicles until Honda solves the problems. By the way, this is our 5th Honda since 1997, and the first one with any significant problems. Too bad, not going to be good for their brand.

I wish there was an option for 4.5 stars because thats what i would give this pilot. We're at 40k miles now the service we've done is put on new tires, alignment, trans fluid, oil, and cabin and engine filter. Ive heard people have had issues with the infotainment, and knock on wood, we have had no such issues. Apple carplay works great everything loads and works the way its supposed to. The leather is pretty comfy and most of the surfaces you touch in the pilot are soft touch instead of hard plastics or cloth. We have gone on a lot of road trips with this girl and we typically average 25/26 mpg when we do. 23/ 24 during normal driving. We love how this suv drives and how relatively quiet it is. The third row is pretty small but it fits our 7 year old just fine. Overall the Honda Pilot seems problem free so far (small saple size i know) and excellent to haul the family around on road trips, to school, grocery store etc. I would highly recommend to anyone with kids or someone who needs the large trunk space when 3rd row is folded down. Btw the reversible and lowerable trunk tray that comes standard where one side is plastic and other side is carpet is so smart. Solid SUV.

I own a 2019 Honda Pilot EXL. It is amazing to drive and handles like a car as it was intended. It is unbelievably smooth when driving. The third row has the most Headroom in it's class. I have driven the Volkswagen Atlas, the Kia Telluride, and the Toyota Highlander. None of them drive as well as the Honda Pilot or have as much room for third-row passengers. It may not as modern as some or have all the Techy styling looks but it is definitely a superb SUV. Not to mention the excellent mpg for its class. The 2019 also gained all the safety features associated with the pilot as standard and the reverse lights were moved up to the taillights instead of the bumper plus some other styling touch-ups. In my opinion, it was very well done. You get a lot of bang for your buck with EX-L. The car play/android auto infotainment system works well, maybe a few more angles for the camera would be nice, like an overhead view.

Transmission makes horrible noises when shifting from park etc. it whines going down the road. The “ safety stuff” really is scary. It will sense an on coming car on a two lane road, as a danger and it slams on breaks for your safety and sharply snatches the wheel out of your hands to the right...and off the road you go. The AC is waxing and waning. Rides rough. My history 1976 Honda CVCC, 1982 2d accord, 1991 CRX Si, 1998 Prelude, 2006 civic Si, 2014 civic Si, multiple accords in between as family cars. 2012 Odessy, and this pilot is by far the worst.

I read lots of reviews before making this purchase, I bought my pilot certified pre-owned with an extended warranty. First off the suv I was going to buy was the 2019 MDX with SH-AWD and the entertainment package but after test driving it and going through the price for feature ratio the pilot touring AWD was a much better buy and 10k cheaper. The handling is great, the cabin is very quiet and the mpg is impressive. I recently went on a 6 our trip from VA Beach to Charlotte NC and clocked it at 27.5 mpg so it’s actually better than Honda advertised if your driving on eco but you’ll definitely feel a difference in power distribution. The reviews about the infotainment system almost scared me away but it seems that Honda has already worked all the kinks out so I haven’t had a single problem with freezing or Apple car play. The touring’s look and features inside and out really makes you feel like your in a luxury car hoping I get 200k in this.

Drifts Right and jerks when starts from idle

I took brand new pilot touring 2019 4 days before trading in my odyssey (EX-L) 2016, now I am realizing the mistake I have done. First thing I notice is the pilot drifts right while running and I have to keep balancing the steering to make sure it is not drifting right which is kind of irritation when we drive long. Not sure it is an alignment issue or by design it drifts( I test drived another 2 pilots from the same dealer and they drift s too..and the dealer is saying it is an alignment issue ) . Second is the engine idle stop is really scares me when it starts back from idle .. if it does this for a month in Houston traffic I need to throw the car in junk and there is no way I can permanently switch it off and need to press the button every time I start the vehicle. I am going back to the dealer to check this again whether there is any way this can be fixed ...will keep posted ....

The infotainment system has a history of problems and Honda is not seriously dealing with the issue. When my phone is connected by Bluetooth or USB (doesn't matter which) it will start skipping and crackling after a while for no reason - then the audio will stop completely. The screen will say that it is still playing but nothing is heard. You can switch to another audio source but nothing will play. You have to turn the car off to get it to reset. After about 30 minutes it will do it again.

The Honda Pilot is a good SUV. Its spacious cabin includes three rows of adult-sized seats (uncommon in the midsize SUV class) and higher cargo capacity than many competitors. These attributes helped make it a finalist for our 2019 Best 3-Row SUV for Families. There are also plenty of standard active safety features and an available infotainment system that's improved for 2019. On the road, the Pilot is capable and comfortable, making it easy to drive. However, many class rivals have better-predicted reliability ratings.

POOR BRAKES

patel, 10/07/2019

6 of 10 people found this review helpful

Brakes are ridiculously slow. Brake response time is very slow even though speed is within 30 miles per hour or less. You literally have to push paddle completely down to the floor and even after that it won't stop immediately. Car stops very slow. So considering situation (driving in street and child pops up in front of car) if you have to stop suddenly you not gonna make it unless you use emergency brake of the car. Honda must fix the issue otherwise someone will lose life for sure. Also, weirdly car moved forward little bit when i just pushed start button to start the car even after brake paddle was pushed down position and touching gas paddle at all. I was bit surprised and thankfully it was in parking lot so didn't hit anyone. I am going Honda dealership to check with them if they can check and do something to make brake more responsive and tight. This is just second day of car and this crap happening. I am bit scared, disappointed and frustrated.

Dealers are Motivated. Log onto Edmunds for a great vehicle pre purchase price and begin from there. Pilot has a lot of standard safety items, wonderful audio, comfortable Captains seats, 24 mpg on the Highway, good get up and go especially while highway driving , ie. merging into traffic from a ramp, reasonably quiet for a Honda, improved from prior models. I was very surprised with the included, no extra charge- remote start, home link, sun roof, auto dimming rear view mirror, heated front seats, and the list goes on. I was pleasantly surprised and as of right now would buy it again.

I had leased a 2009, 2013 and 2016 gmc acadia. When gmc had the bright idea to reduce the car size by 30% I needed to find a new replacement. And thank you gm because I found the new 2019 Honda pilot elite. Hands down this a terrific suv. The ride, fit and finish and interior capacity are excellent. The quite closing of the doors comfortable seats ample storage gives this a two thumbs up. Best thing gmc ever did is to reduce the size of the Acadia it brought me to a superior vehicle the Honda Pilot. Assembled in Alabama with engines and transmissions assembled in the USA.

I purchased a 2019 AWD EX-L almost 3 months ago. I have nothing but great things to say about our new family Pilot. I went with the “value play” by getting the EX-L. Apple CarPlay is great for navigation and the stereo with subwoofer sounds great. Not any times I’d really need the music any louder than I get it now with the 215 watt stereo and it sounds great. Safety features like lane keep assist and others take a little getting used to but are really great. The Pilot has some great “get up and go” when you need it. One of my favorite features is sunken compartment in the trunk. Great to keep the groceries from going all over in the back. The comfort is great everywhere, even in the 3rd row. If I had to find one thing to improve on it’d be gas mileage, but I think I’m just not used to driving a mid size SUV. Overall, I really don’t think anyone could go wrong buying a Honda Pilot.

Upgraded from a minivan as our kids were getting a little older and not as much space was needed. Was actually looking to test drive an odyssey then saw this vehicle right next to it and fell in love. Honestly it just looks a feels sooo much nicer than the odyssey and I think it’s interior is better with way better amenities than other models.

I use this car as a boat towing car while on the expressway and over unimproved roads. My first trip I was shocked at the smooth quite ride ( even in Illinois and Wisconsin) and the ability to drive on unimproved roads. Also just to let you know this is a big car with a lot of flat storage when the seats are folded down January 2021 After two summers of trailering and traveling and snow I can say this car is fantastic. Have had zero problems with the car. Wife crashed the bumper Jan 2023 Just at 40,000 miles, still like the SUV Put new tires on it

Creaking sound underneath

Got my pilot brand new from the dealership and after a month i noticed a creacking sound underneath after driving it for a month. I brought my car in the nearest dealership and they can't figure out where is the sound coming from. And to my disgrace they created another annoying sound like ticking sound in front. Really disappointed with the dealership as well as Honda quality.
