FEEL CHEATED
No compass. Really! We wrote a check for more than $41,000 to own a 2018 Odyssey minivan that Honda purposely put on the market with no compass, a simple tool standard in every decent vehicle since about the dawn of internal combustion. Shame on them. We wouldn't have bought this van if we had known it didn't have a compass. Some people writing online say Honda is manipulative, trying to force people to pay thousands more for the most expensive trims to get a simple, cheap feature found on every car but low-end fleet vehicles. Honda may be manipulative, or have no regard for customers, or just plain stupid. The people at my Honda dealership were as shocked as me at the absence of a compass. I would trade the moon roof, which I'll probably never open, or leather seats for a compass. I really wanted to feel good about owning a new minivan with many electronic and safety features, but now I simply seen a large gray machine in the garage with no compass. I'm sure Honda could retrofit this minivan to include a compass if they cared. In the meantime I'll use my old Boy Scout compass and wish I had bought a Toyota.

Tire Eater
Best looking van out there. Comfortable, great running but scary in the rain. BIG PROBLEM, only 36K miles on the van and on my third set of tires. After eating through the first two sets of tires, finally realized that the safety features that are suppose to help you, also "scrub" the tires and ruin the tread. The feature that alerts you that you are going out of your lane and shakes the steering wheel, allows the tires to scrub across the payment and wear the tread off. I turned off this feature but front end still loose. New tires have 4K miles on them and even with the lane departure system off, the tread is wearing down. Same model tires on my last van (Toyota Seinna) lasted 75K. Honda dealer says nothing they can do about it. VERY DANGEROUS IN RAIN with this front end problem.

Junior styling for a mature vehicle
Honda has been able to maintain their sale figure but my feeling is it could have been much better. What are they thinking with their styling. It is ugly, disjointed, disorganized (the top crease line end up in nowhere in the rear quarter panel. It should have joined with the crease on the rear quarter panel over the fuel filler door). I feel offended because they dont seem to treat their Odyssey customers too seriously. This is like putting an experiment, a design exercise into a mature segment. If the designers were serious then they would give this design to the Acure line too. I dare them to see what kind of effect this would have on the sale figure of their Acura line! I am owning a 2001 Odyssey and love the design up until 2010 model. The lightning bolt was bad but somewhat tolerable but the 2018 is the worst. The placement of their vents in the second and third rows also killed the deal. I am holding back on my minivan replacement for a couple more years to see if Honda is getting serious about making a sensible design again; otherwise Toyota here I come.

Major failure over all
This is the last Honda I bought for the family. We live in California... They messed up the newer models. The car comes with one less compressor and some gas saving feature. Basically every time you're stopped at a light or parked the A.C. stops working.. to save you gas. Only problem outside is 95... my car is a good 95 on the front seat and 100 on the 2rd row and who knows what on the 3rd seat. So unless you're planning to drive only at night or winter you're totally screwed. There is absolutely no help at the dealership... This has class action lawsuit all over...
Honda is not what it used to be
We've bought Honda vehicles since 1997. It's been an easy choice since Honda has always been known for quality and we've had good luck with our vehicles. That is not the case anymore. Our last Odyssey (a 2012) had problem after problem. We decided a new one was the solution. We were wrong and we are done with Honda. The good: Honda makes a great engine. For a minivan this thing will get up and go. I love the new engine. The 10spd transmission is smooth and seems like a good match for the engine. The seat warmers are nice. The seat coolers is nice. The safety sensors are nice, but given our experience with rest of the electronics I don't trust them. The Bad: The electronics in the new Odyssey are garbage. The user interface is hard to use and if you are the driver it is more dangerous than texting if you have to do anything meaningful with it. The navigation won't let the passenger type in an address while the car is moving. Instead the drive has to use voice commands which end in the driver having to push buttons on the screen. How is that safer? The voice recognition is hilarious. We asked it to take us to the Lego store and it replied with do you want to search for Beer and Liquor? We have to stop and type in an location if we want it to work because the conversation is so painful and pretty much never works. Our biggest problem has been the XM radio which works about 50% of the time these days but is a gradual decline towards never working. It randomly gives us the "No Signal" message. We used to be able to stop the car and open the door (the radio stays on until the door opens) that would restart the radio and it would work. That doesn't work anymore. I've heard that replacing the antenna will fix it but Honda sent out a message to their dealers telling them to not replace it so our dealer won't replace ours. We're stuck with it just not working. I suspect that in a year or 5 there will be some kind of service notice but it will be too late for us by then - I will have gotten rid of this thing. I like the idea of the adaptive cruise control and auto braking. The auto braking especially sounds like a great safety feature but I've had the car slam on the brakes in the middle of town with no cars in front of me at all. It's a little scary. I still have no idea how the rain sensing wipers work. They've randomly come on a few times but we pretty much always have to manually operate them. I was excited for the tail gate sensor but unless you stand there on one foot in just the right spot with your key in just the right spot the tail gate won't open. It's like they designed it so you have to do a special little yoga dance to get it to work. Even when we bought it the sales guy was baffled by how hard it was to get it to work. The brakes are insufficient for the vehicle. We drop the pass into Jackson Hole on vacation each year. After a week back and forth between Jackson Hole and Driggs the brakes will start to shutter. The Elite has the benefit of paddle shifters that let you better utilize the engine for braking but even then the brakes are just not made to stop this vehicle. Plan on having them turned and then replaced if you do any kind of mountain driving. Read the forum post below and the other negative reviews on Edmunds and decide if you want to drop $50k on a car that will spend as much time in the shop as on the road. https://www.odyclub.com/threads/sirius-radio-problems.349629/

2018 Odyssey
We had a 2007 Odyssey and the 2018 continues the comfort and safety of a Honda ride. Like the new technology for cruise control, lane control, blind side notice and rear camera. Did not like no CD player and creating playlists using USB sticks. Finally got a portable CD player running through the auxiliary input to the car speakers. Our first trip of 1000 miles showed it to be a comfortable, reliable Odyssey we expected.

FIRTS TIME HONDA OWNER THAT IS DISAPPOINTED
We purchased this 2018 ODYSSEY since we needed the flexibility of a minivan and sought want we thought to be the reliability of Honda. At 1-year and 16K miles we have had a safety recall on the sliding doors, the 9-speed transmission has very harsh shifts and low speeds, and both fog lights have shattered. With fog lights being a consumable I expected to be able to replace these damaged lights with little effort. It turns out that the only way to replace these consumables is to remove and replace the entire front bumper assembly at a quoted cost of $500. When raising these issues to Honda Customer Support we were told that the transmission issue is normal and while we see the fog light issue as a Honda design deficiency the fog lights are not a warranty item. We are disappointed in these design issues and in the lack of concern from Honda Customer Support. We had been planning on replacing our second vehicle this year with another Honda but this experience with the Odyssey has killed that and led us to review competitive vehicles.

Very good van. Great on long trips
Have owned a new 2018 EX-L for over six years. Very quiet interior. No compass at all. Major mistake by Honda. With 9 gears it shifts a lot and I'm still not use to that. Adaptive cruise control is a nice feature. Keeps you up to your selected speed and you never have to tap the brake. The steering wheel vibration on the lane departure takes some getting used to, but a very nice safety feature. A very solid van with a great ride. And my wife loves it so all is good. Now that we have owned the van for a few years I can add a few comments. RPM's rev high when shifting in first and second gear. downshifting on lower gears is not good. On cold days in Michigan, there seems to be cold air coming in from somewhere even with the heater on?? Cruise control just shut down and the radio by itself and neither would come back until I stopped and turned engine off and on. If there is an ice or snow build up on front of car, the radar cannot work properly so it shuts down some operator assisted features. Transmission still rough shifts at lower speeds both up and down. The 9 speed is just a mistake by Honda. The unofficial word from the service manager is its just not a good transmission. My wife always says the car shifts with a jerk both up and downshifting in lower gears.. Still a great highway car. Am on my 3rd battery for the car. Honda batteries do not last maybe a little over 3 years.

Far and Away the Worst Car I Have Ever Owned
I've had the Odyssey for 4 months now and have driven it 14,000+ miles. First the positives: great on the highway, engine is smooth, transmission is mostly smooth (occasional hiccup here and there), and Honda Sensing seems to work fairly well. The Lane Keeping Assist ping pongs and isn't always reliable...not a big deal because you should be driving your car. Now the negatives: The infotainment is just horrible. If you're on your phone when you get in the bluetooth will connect, but it mutes you and the person you're talking to. There is no way out of this. If you plug your phone into the USB first it sometimes mitigates this, but not always. Also sometimes the infotainment shows volume and nothing comes out of the speakers no matter what you do. The only fix seems to be to turn off the car and get out so it resets. Also the interface is terrible and doesn't work well with the display in the gauge cluster. Like they were designed by two different teams. Sometimes the screen is just black and will not come on at all and I have to turn the car off to again reset it. It plain sucks. The car beeps constantly at everything you do, and it gets really old really quickly. Walking away after parking, the self locking rarely works so it beeps really fast and loud about 6 times to remind you of your poor decision to purchase the Odyssey. The doors are another hassle, they only work if the car is happy about other things being in the right place. I've had people trapped in the middle row because the sliders won't open until I open the driver's door. What?!? The rear door is more of the same, why can't I decide how I open my doors? The interior is awful. Tons of hard plastics that are misaligned. Not even ok in a car costing half as much. Molded stitching on the door panel, couldn't they use a soft vinyl or fabric at this price point? There isn't any rubber in the cupholders so everything rattles. ...and the engine is quiet and smooth, but Honda really can't use a timing chain on their V6's? It's 2019, get with the program. My fourth Honda and definitely my last. So disappointed I bought this vehicle. Update: Traded it in. Dealerships said my issues are a known problem and they couldn’t fix them. Arrogant manager also said it wasn’t their problem, it was a Honda problem. They also said they were doing me a favor by taking that lemon in on trade because they couldn’t sell it. Awful dealership and ownership experience. Stay very far away. Update: Still the worst car I’ve ever owned, reduced my rating to one star from two.

3rd Odyssey for me
I had a 2005 with 87,000 miles when I traded it in for a 2010 (husband wanted to trade not me). I kept the 2010 for 8 years and 110,000 miles with only regular maintenance. Never had a problem with either Odyssey. I loved my 2010 but wanted the newer technology. The only drawback for me was the colors. I like lighter colors and unless I wanted silver or white there weren't any light colors. I ended up with the red/burgundy color which looks great after a car wash but shows the dirt pretty quickly. I love the safety features and navigation on this van. I see complaints about the A/C in the second and third rows but I bought my van in late August and haven't really used it in hot weather. Will see how that works this summer. I also feel the 2010 accelerated faster. I have had a problem with the sliding door on the driver's side not closing occasionally and don't know why. Eventually it works. Just got some king of recall I think about the software so I guess I'm be taking the van in for that. I would buy this van again in a heartbeat. I'm a Grandma who hauls grandkids to piano, tennis, basketball and baseball ga7mes and practices and it works great for all of that. Bought van in August 2017 now it's October 2018. I have almost 14,000 miles and have had no problems with this van. I love it! I've now has this 2018 van for 3 1/2 years and have almost 37K miles. There have been several recalls. I like the engine in my 2010 van much better. I could just barely touch the gas pedal to pass someone but I have to really push on the gas to get up to speed on the 2018. I wish they hadn't changed the way the engine works. I have now had my 2018 van for 4 1/2 years with close to 45K miles. Have not had any mechanical issues or repairs. My only problem now is getting in and out of the van due to leg and knee problems. I need the seat to go back further so I can get in and out easier. It is really difficult for me. I drove my daughter in-law's 2015 Toyota Sienna and I could get in and out in a breeze. Other than that everything is going well. I now have had my 2018 van for a little over 6 years. I now have 56,000 miles on it. I have had zero problems. I have done regular maintenance with oil changes and replacing tires. I've had this van for a little over 7 years. It now has 62,000 miles. Other than oil changes and replacing tires, it runs like it did the day I bought it. Would buy it again. No problems with paint or anything on the interior either. I've now had this van for four months short od 8 years and I have 64,200 miles on it. Just regular maintenance like oil changes and tires. However, at my last oil change a couple of months ago the dealer said that I needed new control arms and an alignment. I have since talked to their service manager to get more clarification. He said I should do it within a year. I was surprised that I would need control arms replaced especially on a Honda. Not happy about that. My 2010 van had 110,000 miles on it and no problems.

Run...run far far away!!
I bought the redesigned 2018 Odyssey as soon as it was available because of need (growing family), looks (I said I'd NEVER drive a minivan, but the Ody does look good), and features. However, after less than 2 years and fewer than 20K miles, I am DONE with it. I have had nothing but issue after issue with it and it is to the point where I have absolutely no faith my family will be kept safe traveling in it. It all started with a sliding door issue (door would not close and continued to pop open until manually forced to shut). It took 4 trips to the dealer with a new excuse and repair every time until the issue finally appeared to be resolved (*note, there was a recently recall related to the doors, but the recall fix was tried on my Ody and didn't fix the problem). Next, less than 1 year having the van, my family was driving on the interstate and while trying to accelerate coming out of a construction zone, the vehicle lost all acceleration, numerous warning systems came on and we had to hobble the van to the next exit. Service team could find no reason or fix for this issue. Most recently, the ACC, LKAS, and Collision Mitigation warning lights all came on randomly when driving and the steering felt as though the computer was trying to take-over driving. Dealer recalibrated my front sensors, but then the warnings came up again. My service tech told me another owner actually had his van slam on the breaks in the middle of traffic for no reason. These issues, in addition to ongoing issues with the reliability of the technology and touch screen display have made it to where I don't feel safe driving myself or my children around in it each day because I have no idea what issue will crop up next. As a first time Honda owner, I will now be a never again Honda owner as I have lost all faith in the reliability, safety, and quality of Honda vehicles.

Wouldn’t buy another one
I’ve had this car for 2 years almost 3 years, as a new car it was great. Once the miles started going past 10,000 it’s been a headache. Honda sensing is useless! The van will pull me into another lane (almost hit someone because it thought I was drifting lanes), the auto brake system will stop us with no one in front, the adaptive cruise control will get right up a cars rear end (farthest setting is on) then flash “brake”. It’s been to the dealership multiple times for these issues and I’m told “there is no fix, turn it off”. The 9 Speed transmission loves to jerk at lows speeds as if it can’t decide which gear it should be in. Honda says “it’s normal” but any other mechanic I’ve spoken to says “it’s normal for this transmission but it’s not necessarily a good thing.” Luckily the rear entertainment has not given us any trouble and it makes road trips easier. The ride overall is okay in the city but excels on the highway (just can’t use any of the safety tech). Overall it does the job but I don’t trust the transmission and remembering to turn off all of the tech every time is a pain in the neck. I’m looking to trading it in and will be skipping the newer Odysseys.

Great - No Issues
I bought this Used in June 2020 and so far it's running great and everything works. Driver assistance features came in handy on a long trip to the beach. We took out the middle seat in the 2nd row to create captains chairs, which can also slide laterally on a track. The stereo/head unit is a little wonky but there haven't been any glitches or cutting off. Engine shifting of the automatic transmission is very smooth and you can really feel a difference between Normal, Eco, and Sport modes. My only complaint is that we have definitely not gotten the 19 City MPG that is advertised, even driving like a Grandma on Eco mode. Expect 16-17 City MPG. With gas being so cheap, I'm not super bent out of shape about it but still kind of let down. The Highway MPG did come in around 28 or above though. All in all, it's got great features and it has a zippy, reliable Honda engine that just can't be beat.

Mighty Glad We Bought It
We had been waiting for the new re-design and when the 2018's came available we were thrilled with the look. Then we actually had the opportunity to drive some, look them over carefully and make our decision. We purchased a 2018 Odyssey Elite and so far we've been absolutely delighted with it. Excellent acceleration, extremely comfortable ride, and enough bells and whistles to make any tech geek happy. But, all of them functional and serving a purpose.

A good Minivan
I owned the 2006 Honda Odyssey. I love the 2006 compared to the 2018. There are several minor inconveniences but there are several good enhancements too. The second row sliding doors are bit slow. The remote needs to be pressed hard for any operation (open/close doors). The position of the auto-lights etc. are not at the best position. The indoor lighting is not very good. Road sounds etc. are negligible.

Luckily my problems have been under warranty
I absoulutey bragged about this van until I hit 23k. At 23k all my dash lights went on. Had to take it back and forth 3 times only to find out both the spark plugs and fuel injectors went bad at 23k. I treat her well and was shocked when they showed me the pictures. Also, frustrating is honda has a book they have to go through each time before they can even touch the engine and testing it each time really gets frustrating. Tech told me if they had caught it earlier it wouldnt have gotten that far but again the book has to be followed. Car was fortunately under warranty but Ive never had a 2 year old car have this many mechanical problems. Also, Ac vents in back as mentioned are not the best but I disagree about the 3rd row cause those work great and are located on side wall(idk?) And can be adjusted. Main ac vents that suck are first row specifically for rear facing kiddos because its on the door stance and thats facing the back of the car seat. I DO know they scored better than Sienna on this year for safety and we bought new so thats good and also the detail touches are much better than Toyota by far even their sport model for the 18 was subpar to this and no entertainment systen. It is a very nice van over all and has every bell and whistle a mom would love *cabin cam* I just pray our mechanics stay in order from now on as a Honda shouldnt be having these issues and Im hoping this will be it.

Great family touring vehicle
Bought the fully loaded odyssey for a road trip. Exceeded expectations with its own built in WiFi so my son could be on his computer during the endless hours of driving. Plenty of space for storage, good gas mileage.
Great looking, and great driving.
Great mpg at 28-29. Looks fantastic. Driving is so comfortable and smooth. Lots of room inside. In the Econo mode the a/c at times seems to be less cooling, but it is made that way. That helps on the mpg, so either use it or not, I choose to use it and stay cool and comfy in southern Mo heat waves. Great buy, you won’t be disappointed.

Legit Odyssey Review
From Sept 2021 There is a design flaw with the entertainment system. It likely is overheating as it shuts down after a couple hours of use, where it of course needs to be working for long trips. We've had it in at least 4 times with the same complaint and others on the forums complain of the same. Honda needs to fix and I'll keep the stars going down until they do. Otherwise a great car. Service just isn't there yet. From 2020 If I could give this a 4.7 I would but it’s not perfect. First off I read the either reviews and feel bad for folks who experience first year production problems that typically are reserved for us cars. Ours has been a dream. The good: the car looks great, is incredible on the road and has been smartly d signed. The tech is quite nice on it and for me, a middle aged male who likes a sporty fun car this is a love of mine. I laugh a little at myself loving this car so much but I do wish they’d recognize if they made it a little sportier they’d get a lot more guys into it. It is reminiscent of my old TL just bigger. The auto lift gate by using your foot thing is a great addition. We researched and drove other vans. This one is the hands down leader. Quiet, comfy and safe everything you want. The bad Gas mileage isn’t great and the increased horsepower translates into too much torque on a wet surface so you just spin your tires. It still tends too eat tires and the factory tires aren’t high quality. Put Michelin’s on it. We’re still ending near 50k on a minivan and it needs that upgrade. All wheel drive would be a nice add but tires are welcome. Next, the store space seems to have been cut down. No where to put small things (coins, papers, coupons) so just add that back. And the horn? So wimpy that I have to think they did a single horn instead of dual to save on weight/mpg. Give it a classy sound not a Chevette. We have noted the ac problem and that deserves more research. These are tweaks though that shouldn’t take the odyssey from the top spot. On the highway it is amazing and the adaptive cruise is very cool. You will be happy with this car for years as we expect to be.

Not So Great 😩
We purchased this van new. It was actually my second Odyssey. My 2010 Odyssey was a beast and VERY reliable. The current generation (2018+) of the Odyssey is not as dependable as the previous years. I had NINE safety recalls I had to get fixed through Honda on my 2018. Safety recalls happen when a manufacturer realizes there's a dangerous issue and it's cheaper to correct the problem instead of doing nothing and dealing with liability lawsuits later. These recalls do not include other problems l experienced that sent me back to the dealership like warping side panels and the blower motors going out in both the front and back rows. I went through the first winter in a 4-month-old $45,000 van with NO HEAT because Honda had so many defective blower motors the parts were on backorder. If you're still interested in the Odyssey or any of Honda’s newer vehicles with the button type shifters do yourself a favor and check out what is involved if you find yourself with one that won’t start. Unlike most vehicles it impossible to place the vehicle in neutral in case you need to push it to safety. It takes a tow truck driver who knows how to work on the transmissions to even tow it.

MODEL CARS BUILT WITH BETTER QUALITY
Cons: Ride is loud with stock tires and ZERO traction in wet conditions, MPG NOT as listed, seat material not good quality, carpet wears with a few weeks, plastic parts can scratch with a fingernail, components break easily, only plays dvd not in HD, randomly ejects dvd during movies, body panels cheap near where you step in, the drivers seat is so uncomfortable it causes swelling in my leg and a friend who drove it for 4 hours also, seat is SUPER SUPER uncomfortable, not enough ports for electronics. Pros: Decent acceleration, huge trunk, shifts appropriately for towing, rear leg room good I had a 2014 pilot before and it was much better built. Still had poor quality seat material and carpet was not great. I was forced to replace it as a Hummer totaled the SUV.

Long time Honda buyer disappointed with Odyssey
We bought 2018 Odyssey Elite and have had 12 trips to the dealer's service department, with only 2 of those trips for routine maintenance. We've experienced constant, continuous software problems, and the software controls transmission, battery, operations, antitheft, etc. Several recalls, too. The service department has finally admitted to us "we've had lots of problems with this current model of Odysseys - 2018-2020"

Entertainment system most unreliable ever seen
This car touts the software and technology but it is a complete rip off for the price. 5k miles in and It hardly ever works and the dealer just sends it back saying non-reproducable. I finally recorded a video to show them the problem and now they blame my Disney original DVD. Are all of my brand new DVDs bad?? Absolute nonsense! I expected better from Honda. This will be our last. We are looking at Toyota or Tesla as our second car.

3rd Honda Disappoints
Initially very impressed with the features, but execution and reliability ultimately caught up. We’ve had the vehicle since new, for a little over a year. This vehicle, by far, has been at the dealership more than any I’ve ever owned. Multiple recalls, the entertainment system went out, and most recently the front defrost didn’t blow any air causing a safety issue during a winter storm. Certainly not up to the reliability I expect of a Honda, but really I’d be disappointed no matter the brand. My advice, avoid the model and year at the very least.

Very Poor rated minivan
I was given an auspicious opinion on the Odyssey from friends before I decided to take one. These are issues after virtually 2 years of the ride with it. There has been 3 recalls already, faulty door latches twice already. Body of the car, especially if you visually examine the hood or rear door, there are astronomically immense gaps, and evidently they are not in sync with all side, take for instance hood, if you look proximately, you will find astronomically immense gap in either side, this betokens the hoods or rear doors are not QA checked, bees or flies can pass through, in fact on my rear door, I had a honeycomb exhibiting up after 2 months of buying the car. During winter, I find, even though before driving, had the engine on for 5 mins, just after one mile drive, where I conventionally take a right or left turn, it would not accelerate the car during the turn, it would abstain like for 30 seconds, until I press the accelerator genuinely hard to pick the drive. It scared me a couple of times. Internal Noise is a very mundane feature in this car. The touch screen is absolutely rubbish, sometimes it gets disconnected saying cannot detect the phone, albeit the cable was the pristine one and this causes the main diversion during the driving if verbalize you are utilizing google maps or IOS maps. Another example is, while you have FM on and say you receive a phone call, attend the call and then disconnect the call, you would expect that FM is back on, but it does not, I need physically touch the FM button on the screen to turn it on. Once you connect to Android phone with Google maps on, you need to struggle to choose an address on the touch screen, the only option is to disconnect the cable and manually type on phone, which makes it quicker to search an address. The list goes on and on, I expected Honda to be kind of premium car with their counterparts, but it is not. Dumped the car to customers, for customers to test and report issues.

Absolutely Hate This Vehicle
This is my 6th Honda; 2x Civic, Accord, CRV and second Odyssey. I'm 56 years do I've driven many vehicles. This is the roughest transmission I've every experienced. It jerks at 9, 14, and 28 mph. Dealer said it has a computer that adjust to your driving. He reset it to factory and seemed to run smoother. But only for a couple of weeks. Now back to the same. Sometimes it knocks. When slowing down it feels like someone has pressed the brake when downshifting or as if you slipped it into neutral by accident. Im not talking about slowing down from high speed either. I live in a 55+ community. Speed limit is 25 to 30 mph. It's at the lower speeds where I really notice the jerkiness. If course Dealer can't duplicate problem. Taking it in this week for last time. If they don't fix it, I'm getting rid of it. I've never had a vehicle where I hated getting behind the wheel until now. Too bad. I loved Honda. Not anymore.

Stay away from the 9-speed models.. or all Honda's
Honda has gone down the proverbial toilet insofar as quality is concerned! We have bought 13 Honda vehicles over the past 22+ years, and now... never again! The ZF9, nine-speed transmission failed in my 2018 Odyssey EX, at about 74,000 miles. Replacement cost $6200... for re-manufactured!. Now that transmission is showing the same symptoms. And then.. just a few weeks ago, the trans in our 2016 CR-V failed.. at 30,000 miles ! I have had numerous problems with the radar, infotainment system.. on and on ...! The cars are basically garbage now. Oh yea.. almost forgot; the last three Honda's needed new tires before even putting 25k miles on them! So unhappy with Honda

Best Minivan of 2018!!
I first purchased a Toyota Sienna Minivan back in 2006, and that was great and all, but when I was introduced to the 2018 Honda Odyssey, I instantly bought it! It has been amazing ever since I bought it, much better than the Sienna! The Elite trim level gives everything that Honda offers, which is great!

Can’t do minivan...again
The minivan meets our needs perfectly. Specially the Honda Odyssey 2018 EXL. We like the interior & space well! But after our test drive, we got out of “it” started to walk into dealership to do a deal. That last glance reminded us we did our 2 minivans 15 years ago, and as much as we like the interior and function... we just can’t do another minivan at this season in life. It is still a van on the outside, so that last glance made it clear, we don’t want to go back. Hello VW Atlas.

Wife has Reconsidered Being a Minivan Mom Again
It’s hard to judge based on a single test drive but we loved it. My wife was blown away with some of the cool features like the third row seats folding into the floor making a flat load surface and, of course, the Honda Vac. The seats are very comfortable and the van handles great. My wife said had we had cash in hand we would have bought it right then. We still are looking to get it, we just have to check finances first.

I Love my Odyssey
You can get a generous discount. The 2018 has many more safety and convenience features than the 2017.

Luxury minivan
Using Edmunds helped us find out what we could buy the vehicle for and negotiate with local dealers. We got a much better deal this way.

Our 3rd New Odyssey and it will be our Last!
Purchase our 3rd 2018 Odyssey in Nov of 2017 and have had 2 others back in 2014 and 2010. (loved the first 2) This new transmission they have allows the vehicle to move after you put it in Park with your foot on the brake and then shut the engine off. The vehicle is on level ground and will 80% of the time roll backwards after you shut the engine off and then take your foot off the brake. Took it to the dealer and they said that is the way it is supposed to work. If it doesn't mover more than 5 3/4 of an inch it is OK. If it is more then it is supposed to be considered not acceptable. We complained several time about this problem directly to Honda Motors and not the dealer who is no help at all. Still not getting anywhere so I Called the NHTSA and told them about this issue. I still haven't heard back from them. The deal is that this doesn't happen all the time but most of the time. Not sure why when you are purchasing the vehicle they don't tell you Stop and Don't get out of the vehicle until I let my foot off the brake. One would think when the vehicle is shut off it would no longer move, (unless you are on an incline - I get it) but not in your garage or in the parking lot when on level ground. WE ARE VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS NEW VAN. BEWARE!

A beauty to drive. Not good in snow.
This is the 5th minivan we've owned - a Chrysler (junk), two Dodges and two Odesseys. The 2018 Odessey is a beauty to drive - easy, smooth and quiet. So easy for everyone to get in and out of as well as getting pets, groceries and luggage in and out. We have the Elite and it has all the safety gear - the vehicle almost drives itself. The 2018 Odessey almost looks like a crossover or SUV - its hard to tell. So you can drive it without feeling like your driving a minivan. The only downside (our opinion) is its not at all good in snow and we live in Wisconsin and drive to Minneapolis often. I wish they had an AWD option.

Nice van but Honda customer service is bad
Overall we have been happy with the van. My wife said at high speeds she is getting a lot of vibration. I took it out and it jumps all over the place when hitting the brakes at high speeds. The van only has 19,000 miles and we need new rotors already. I called the dealership and he begins to tell me that the warranty isnt bumper to bumper anymore because this is a fairly common issue. Honda now says they only warrany rotors for 12,000 miles because of how common it is. I havent ever had a car that the rotors dont last at least 60K miles. I am also shocked they change up thier warranty based on claims they start seeing. This is my first honda and probably last just because of the customer service. I drive a ford (never been a fan until the last few years) They have been awesome. I havent had any problems but when I take it in for oil changes they are great. Might have to trade the van for an SUV.
