We have a toddler and two large dogs. Thanks to our dogs and kid this car really gets dirty quick but thankfully it cleans up quick. A damp sponge works great on the interior. WE did have one problem with it this past summer when a full pump sensor failed and the car lost power and the engine light came on (the vehicle had to be towed)but that appears to be a fluke incident. The car has been running great since then. The car has nice pickup on the highway when passing other vehicles. A wonderful car at a reasonable price! We love it.

It really is a teriffic car in every respect. The practicality is obvious but the surprise is that even though we have an Acura 3.0 CL & a Miata, my wife and I would both rather drive the Element! We took it on a long road trip just after we bought it and found it a real pleasure for that application.

I have had this car for a little over a month now. I love it. The interior is great if you need lots of space ( foldup rear seats or take out completly) It has decent power, and is pretty good on gas for an SUV. It also looks a little different than most SUV's making it distinctive in looks. You either love it or hate it.

It is the perfect car for me. I have 2 large dogs, greyhounds, that fit perfectly with the seat backs folded down. Also, I am a horticulturist that sometimes need to carry plants, equipment and mulch. All of which fit very well in the back with the seats folded up along the sides. There are plenty of tie-downs so that things aren't moving around, and everything cleans up very nicely. It's worked out just perfectly!!

Great Car. Everyone that has small kids or goes to ourdoor activities a lot will love this car. It is waterproof, so if you ever have a bad spill in the car, just wash it down and watch the water drain out of the bottom of the car. Very easy to drive and a good turning radius.

We bought ours as a 2 yr old model with 26K miles. I named it The Earl-ament. We bought in preparing to have a more baby friendly car, that has some ground clearance in case of high water. We are very pleased with the vehicle. We wish we could find a slightly larger vehicle with the rest of the features that would help accommodate the stuff two little boys.

We owned a Land Rover before we bought the Honda Element and making that switch was one of the smartest moves we've made. Our neighbors and friends were quite shocked when we came home with it, once they saw the interior they couldn't believe all the room it had. We have two boys, 6 and 4 years old -it is a perfect car for kids if you want to be a cute, hip, outdoorsy type mom. For such a little thing we feel like we have twice the room as the Land Rover and over double the gas mileage. We love the water wash down floors, never any stains from the kid's drinks or food. I told my 6 year old son when we bought it that we just bought his car-10 years from now.

I was skeptical at first, but I bought the Element anyway. It is a unique looking vehicle as well as a joy to drive. It pulls my 4 wheeler on a trailer as well as my small pontoon boat. I have the 4wd version, this helps to get the boat out of the water. Nevertheless it has plenty of power. My Element has never let me down.

For a 4 banger it moves! This is a very practical SUV with ok gas mileage. My son and I camp in it every summer and have plenty of room and plenty of fun. After driving Subaru's for over 20 years switching to the element was the perfect choice. I feel this is a very well engineered and reliable vehicle that I fell is going to be the best vehicle I have ever owned.

When I told my friends I was buying an Element, they all just smirked. But then I took them out cruising on a Saturday night, and they fell in love with it. The only problem is now everyone will want me to drive when we go out. My friends are all 5'10" plus and 200lbs or more, and they have more than enough room. Not superfast, but enough power to dart and weave through the Chicago Metropolitan Area. Go Cubs!

Just what I wanted. A small SUV like tote that I can get a lot of stuff in if need be. And it even fits my golf clubs in the back if they are laid caddy corner. And when I wanted to buy 4 packaged of 4 cubic ft each of peat moss I just flipped up a seat and it all fit. Rides like a larger vehicle but easy to park. Also looked at RAV 4 but it is not as flexible in being able to tote things (back seats just flip down) and it rode rougher.

The Honda Element is really a all wheel drive mini van with remarkable versitillty. The adjustibillty of the seating take it from sedan to mini van to camper. It is very user freindly and has respectible gas millage and very eco-minded. I found the bucket seats to be the best I have sat in. The Element seats do not trap you but let you move around. The ride is smooth and steady and the breaking feels awsome. The sound system w/sub woofer is very good. It is also easy to clean. I feel that going for the very young market is a mistake. The market is in the 35 to 55 who remain active around town and especially outdoors.

Needed a commuter type vehicle that would be fun to drive, get adequate gas mileage and that would accomodate a 6'6" driver (me) and a 6'5" teenager in the rear seat.....not many to pick from given those criteria. The Element delivers! Tons of room, fun to drive, so unusual that it is "cool", and loads of honda durability and utility. Made in the US by Americans as well. Most other small SUVs don't come close on delivering this kind of package.

We have only had the vehicle for 3 weeks, but we have already taken a trip with it and put on about 2,000 miles. The vehicle has surprisingly good pep, and the sound system is well above average. It rides well, has plenty of leg room (my 6'8" brother in law had room to spare in the backseat), low road noise and most of all, it is very functional. I have only two criticisms; first, I only averaged about 24.7 miles/gallon on interstate (which was a little disappointing). Second, when you fold up the rear seats for storage (which is really nice feature), you have greatly reduced visibility and are forced to use mirrors almost exclusively (I don't think Honda can help that though).

If you are NOT into conventional ideas of status and comfort, the element is fun to drive and the ultimate functional vehicle. We have two elements, and find each is virtually identical in function to a Chevrolet Trailblazer owned by a family member -- yet the two elements (purchase price as well as insurance and license) cost about as much total as the 2003 Trailblazer. The elements have no unecessary electronica and features -- just simple and cost effective transportation. Of course, as they are made by Honda, they don't ever seem to need repairs, either ...

Love my Element. Only wish I had gotten side air bags. The new crash tests have scared me. I may have to trade it in for something else. For future buyers of this vehicle get side air bags and do yourself a favor. The element has plenty of room, comfort in side, great in the snow. Great auto for the money.

I was in the market for a new vehicle. I knew I didn’t want a car. I felt safer driving an SUV but wasn’t sure if I could afford one. I test drove the Element and fell in love with it! Not only did I feel safe driving it, but I absolutely loved the way it looked inside and out. I have had it for about 6 months now. It is EXCELLENT on gas, FANTASTIC in bad weather and snow and I can honestly say that I have never in my life have received more compliments on anything I have even owned! To this day I am still amazed on how much room this vehicle has inside. This is the best purchase I have ever made!

I was looking for a utility vehicle with a bit of personality and the Element became my single focus. I wanted something with a manual transmission and the Element is one of the few SUVs to offer this. What surprised me wss the sporting performance that this vehicle has in terms of passing power and handling, especially for its size. Combined with 4wd, a very decent sound system and flexible configuration, this car is an outstanding value.

We specifically looked at Honda Elements because we haul around 2 big Lab. mix dogs who shed year 'round, pant a lot and have wet noses.... It's absolutely perfect for them to ride in the very back, they have windows and a skylight for air, and we can easily clean the floors and occasional back seat hair fest very easily. We are a little disappointed that the gas mileage isn't better, but we are happy with all else about the Element. It could be that we have gotten spoiled about the mileage since we bought a Honda Civic Hybrid at the same time! Thanks. Barb Clark-Elliott (BCE1028@aol.com)

Maybe I am biased b/c I have wanted to own an Element since it was the Honda Model X...but let me say, now that i have one it is all I thought it would be and more. It handles well, AWD takes it offroad easy (although low clearance limits the possibilities), tons of room to cram stuff, people (I have gotten up to 7 cramemd in), anything into it. The fold down/up/removable seats/beds are great for camping or hauling wood and tools. The Element is by far the most fun vehicle I have ever driven, and if you tack on a few accessories (I have almost all of them) it gets even better.

This is far and away the best car I've ever owned. With a roof rack and a little imagination this can be your modular assault vehicle. Plenty of room for bikes, snowboards, skis, even pulls a trailer great. Just got back from a 3 week 4200 mile road trip, through the mountains, snow, rain, baking deserts the Element took it all and came back for more. Mileage varied depending on terrain but it kicked butt the whole way. I'd buy another one in a minute. Adding a K&N airfilter improves power and mileage...a must have.

I needed a car with better mileage that could still haul stuff if needed. Enter Element. Its engine is quite spry and handles the job more than adequately. It runs so quietly. At 80mph it's almost silent. The inside is sparse, but that's fine by me. No center console, I assume because the subwoofer would be blasting onto it if there was one. This makes for no place to store small items, especially CDs. Otherwise the interior is quite functional. One problem with the side doors: If you park in a lot with a car on either side and you have to access the back seats, it's quite difficult to open the front and back doors while standing between the two.

I just purchased my Element, the funny thing is I always like the car but my husband was the last person that I expect to like this car, but it was actually his decision to get it. He loved the look, however what was the best thing about this car is the space and flooring. We have 2 kids so this car is perfect and those of you who know your children they like to eat and make there food go every where and when they drink they make sure the share with everything else. So this car was something that would be easy to clean up after messes and just overall clean. I am very picky about cleaning my cars and what normally takes me 2 to 3 hours to clean my car it takes me only about 30 min to 1hr
