beware of the collision avoidance system

John, 05/24/2019

Overall a good car but my wife was driving it and the auto collision detector activated and brought the car to a halt with no cars on the road. Error came up said there was a problem with the anti-collision system. Scary. If she were on the highway and this happened with a semi behind her, I could only imagine what could've happened. We have owned this 2019 for four months. After it gets repaired, I'm getting something else- I can't trust this anymore.

Great...if it starts

I have a 2 week old 2019 Honda CRV Touring. The battery was dead after 4 days being parked. Dealer says to expect this since the multiple computers use the battery during engine shut down. The battery was tested and CCA is well above rating. Also told TSB 17-032 which addressed 2017 CRV similar issues, does not apply. They did suggest installing a battery disconnect switch, battery tender, or getting a jumper pack. These are totally unacceptable solutions for a 2 week old vehicle that appears to have a design fault. Waiting for Honda Corporate response and it the meantime I am considering returning this 4 wheel 4 door box of computers and go looking for something I can drive when I need it. Technology...EEch!

Purchased a new 2019 Honda CR-V Ex in January 2019, Shortly after purchasing the Vehicle battery was dead, dealership replaced the battery, after the vehicle sitts for 2 days battery dead again, I called the dealership to report the problem, said it may be a mouse chewed a wire in two, as after calling Honda road side assistance several times I go online and did some research, this is a common problem with the CRV, I called the dealership service MGR, stated he just found out, But Honda would have a upgrade by March 23, State he would pull my file to be placed on a waiting list for repair, I ended up calling American Honda, explained the problem, Stated dealership never reported it, And no there is no quick fix in the works, Asked how I resolve the problem, Don't know, when will it be resolved, don't know, So I bought a almost 30,000 vehicle, no one wants to take responsibility, nor how and when it will be resolved, At 12,000 battery trouble again, Honda replaced the battery for the second time, Spoke with American Honda case worker after she said she was working on a buy back, After stringing us along for 11 month, I phoned her and she said Honda was not going to do a anything for us. I still see numerous post with people having the same issue, Would I buy a Honda Again NO.

Glitchy

Rich Petrich, 03/01/2019

The car is comfortable to drive. Gas mileage is great, handles good, and don’t have any complaints with the CVT transmission. It’s a fun and comfortable car to drive. My concern with this car is with the electronics. The infotainment system is glitchy. Sometimes it turns off by itself and CarPlay won’t start. (Restarting the phone doesn’t fix it, restarting the car does so I know the issue is with the car). The “walk away” lock feature works 80% of the time. A couple of “radar obstructed” messages on sunny, clear days. While these are annoying, I can’t help but think one day the glitches are going to hit something more substantial, like the collision mitigation braking, or lane keeping assist system. While it’s a capable and enjoyable car to drive, the glitches make it hard to fully trust the car. I expect more In todays cars.

Research before you take the Leap!

On 2-14-19 we purchased a 2019 Honda CR-V EX-L with 10 miles on odometer. It has 94 miles on it as of today 3-31-19. During the past 40 days we have had: * Dead Battery 6 x’s + * Jumpstarts 5 x’s + (AAA, HRA or Dealer) * Tows 1 x (HRA) * 15/40 Days at Dealership There is a parasitic leak on battery due to Emissions Scan/Test that runs after the car stops. There is a Recall in Canada but not in the US yet. Some buyers in US have been able to get the software update already but are now experiencing even worse problems. They are assuming it was due to update. There are many new CR-V buyers having this same problem. There are 131 Posts, on just one forum thread alone, regarding this issue. There are several Internet Forums where this is a heavy topic. Please do your research before purchasing. Even seasoned Honda owners are extremely angry and frustrated right now. On April 1, 2019, we were notified by our Dealer, that they have received the software update for our continuing dead battery issue. Not sure if this is considered a Service Bulletin or not. We are to call and schedule an install appointment. We are trying to decide whether to update or not considering the very negative experiences of some other buyers who have. Currently, the update has mixed reviews with more “nays” than “yeas” on the Forum we are part of.

The infotainment system keeps going out and says to do things and I don't touch anything and it mysteriously comes back on. The back-up camera froze and they replaced it. Dealership called me today to cancel the appointment to have it looked at again (for the 6 th time since April) They can see the car next week. I believe at this point, I have a LEMON! I wish I stayed with my Rav 4

I bought a new HONDA CRV 2019 when it is not run for 4-5 days, it completely unloads the batteries. The HONDA BARINGTON.IL dealer said that this is normal because the car has a lot of electronics and the situation will be repeated every time. My question is: HONDA why you treat your clients without due respect and seriousness. My experience may be a warning to others.

Overall the car is excellent but the computer system on the dash for radio, backup camera climate control is always requesting software update and it shuts down and nothing works. I have went to the dealership once they hooked it up to update but now a month later it has shut down again, this is frustrating now I have To go again to the dealership to hook it up again. I don’t have time for this crap. I am not happy at all about this. Something needs to be done about this.

Not only that, the fix has made things worse, now the car will not warm up forever . Worst part is how Honda has handled this. They are selling folks CRV 1.5Turbos with know defects. Also, other than Consumer Reports most of the car magazines have stayed away from reporting.

Oil and gas mixing in with engine

Driving my car and all of a sudden it stalled. Honda recommends that yo chance the oil every 7,500 miles, I changed my oil and two months later the oil was black and smelled like gasoline. After reading all different articles on various websites I found that there is a problem that the gasoline is mixing in with oil, they say this can cause the engine to be damaged. Honda has promise to come up with a mix, but as of yet nothing.

What a lemon!!! 2019 CR-V Ex with creaking noise

I just leased the 2019 CR-V Ex on 02/20/2019. This particular SUV was made in January 2019 at the Honda's Ohio plant. I purposely waited for the 2019 model to avoid the known issues with the 2017-2018 models. Immediately after taking possession of the car I started to hear creaking noises coming from the dashboard/windshield area, especially when driving with the radio turned off. I took the car to the dealer's service dept yesterday. They heard the creaks too but so far couldn't find the source of it. They took apart the pillars trim, the dashboard, the panels around the steering column. They juat let me to take the car back for the weekend since they are waiting for further guidance from the Honda's corporate techs. In the process they've already managed to scrach both pillar covers, puncture the dashboard and crack the panel under the steering column. I'm demanding they replace all those paets with new. This is a real mess! I'm supposed to take back the car to them next week on Tuesaday. Only 140 miles on the odometer and this car is worse quality than some 10 year old beater. I'm really getting disappointed. I will update this review as I go through this unpleasant ordeal.

To me stays on all the time after replacing a tire at 4000 miles.Honda says there is no fix. At random times, multiple fault lights show up...braking system, cruise control, collision mitigation system, lane assist. Doors lock or unlock at random.....this is my third but LAST Honda.

One in a million!

Please do your homework before purchasing. I bought a touring model in Dec. Had for 2 months with the battery draining 4 times. Got so the battery was dead every morning. Tried to work with Honda Corporate but all they wanted me to do was to have it towed to dealer to tell me they couldn’t find anything wrong. In Feb. I got a second one returning the first one. Paid $1300 more because that car was to be the one in a million. No way, I got two in a million. Picked the car up on Thursday - Drove on Friday, Saturday, & Sunday. Tuesday morning a dead battery at 200 miles. I now put a trickle charger on it when in the garage. And that doesn’t keep the battery fully charged. Tomorrow I am going to purchase a larger charger & a set of jumper cables. All this for a new $35,000 vehicle. May I mention these two in a million are my 5th & 6th cr-vs. What happened to the quality? Hope there’s a recall for this problem very soon!

Vibration issue

I picked up 2019 Honda Cr V on Sep. 2, 2019. Next day I noted the car vibrates when I stop at STOP sign or at a Traffic Light, and after driving a little, it vibrates in PARK as well. I took it two dealers on Sep. 5th. One dealer said- could not replicate the issue. At the other dealer, where i purchased my car from, the technician had a ride with me. He noted the vibration. But no real solution. My commute to work is 2 hours one way. So at the end of 2 hrs drive, i feel nausea due to the vibration. The problem needs to be fixed ASAP. Any help form anyone? Feeling very unhappy- Brand new Honda with such issue? Thank you. Mukesh

I have had my CR-V for 10 months and still do not enjoy driving it. While I'm thankful for Honda's reputation for reliability, this car is very boring. PROS: Great mileage Plenty of features Roomy CONS: Driver seat is so uncomfortable! Especially with highway driving Too much cabin noise on highway (people can't hear me on Bluetooth) Android Auto keeps going out Heavy ride possibly due to suspension. I do not feel the Turbo Honda's maintenance recommendations are ridiculously expensive (a ripoff!) I'm so unimpressed that I likely will not buy another Honda.

I previously owned a 2016 Honda CR-V Touring. I liked it so much that I purchased a 2019 CR-V Touring and gave 2016 to granddaughter. The car is just the right size.It has more room than many larger SUV's. The mileage is terrific . averaged 34-36mpg on two 450 mile trips. I love the stying and excellent visible. the front seats are very comfortable and the rear seat has plenty of room. The GPS is not user friendly. I especially like all the safety features on the touring model.

GAS AND OIL, TOGETHER AS ONE

R. Toro, 12/16/2019

Just purchased a 2019 CR-V EX two days ago. Upon cold startup, the gas fumes, emitted from vehicle, permeate the garage and the rest of my home. Gas seeping into oil is huge problem with the CR-V turbo engines. Other models also. Read consumer complaints on line. Wish I had paid attention. Told by dealership that problems ended with 2018 CR-V models, and that 2019 CR-V are repaired at factory before sold. They lied! Honda won't be fixing problem anytime soon. Dealer will change your oil or make some minor adjustments, but you will continue to have problems while smelling gas fumes inside and out. Health risk as well. 350,000 recalls in China....NOT IN USA. Do not buy a Honda. Believe what thousands of others are saying. I chose one star, only because I couldn't choose a ZERO.

My 2019 CRV also had a dead battery...I drove to texas and it sat for 5 days. While I was able to get a jump and drive to a honda dealer for a replacement, I now see it is a major problem and I have to worry about this happening again. This is a safety issue. I would not buy a car that must be driven frequently. Worse, no one warned me about this problem. I could be stranded in the middle of nowhere. i have lost faith in Honda, who were once known for excellent safety features.

Love my 2019 Crv as long as it starts

If the car was reliable it would be great, but I have had this car for 2 months and this is the second time we have found the battery dead in the yard. Took it back to the dealer the first time and was told it must have been in auxiliary? Went to use the car tonight and it was dead again. I have NEVER had a Honda that wouldn’t start Paying $430 a month for a car I can’t count on. Wish I had shopped around. So... I took the Crv back to the dealership AGAIN! (almost an hour drive from my house.) I got a call yesterday, “We can’t find anything wrong with the car” I told them to keep the car and hopefully they will be able to find out why the car RANDOMLY DIES in my yard. One week later... I get an email from my Auto dealer, my car is ready, invoice attached. They fixed the “ECU unit” so far the car has been starting and hopefully it has been fixed, because it really is a GREAT car as long as it starts. I ‘m actually starting to love the car now.🤞🏻

Nice vehicle

We are enjoying our new CR-V EX AWD We've had it two months, with 1000 miles on it.. PROS:: The spacious interior, especially the room in back with rear seats folded down. The driver's power seat provides needed "under thigh" support, although the length of the bottom seat cushion is a bit lacking and the seat bottom very "firm". Seat comfort is therefore a "4", not a "5". The steering - it is very stable, and goes the way it's pointed and tracks beautifully with no tendency to wander., which is one of the car's nicest features.. Handles nicely on curves.. Excellent gas mileage. We get EPA ratings (27) around town, and at 65 mph cruising speeds, mid to upper 30's. The body is tight and solid - no squeaks or rattles - a quality feel. Rear seat room and comfort is very good. ( I have had no dead battery, gas in the oil, or leaking sun roof as has been reported by some. In fact, everything works as it's supposed to and have not had any "defects". CONS:: From a standing start, the engine is a bit noisy and labored, (sluggish feeling). It feels like you're starting in second gear, with the CVT. However, ti quiets right down and has ample performance as cruising speed is achieved. Tire noise is present, especially on course surfaces. A steep learning curve for seniors unfamiliar with the new safety devices and multiple, programmable options which often seem redundant to us. And why can't they print an owner's manual that covers your vehicle only, instead of covering every trim level they build in one manual. No break-in heading could be found in the index, but there are important break-in suggestions buried in the "driving" section of the manual which I discovered belatedly after I had 500 miles on it. All in all, we are pleased with our purchase. Long term reliability of the small engine with turbo and the CVT transmission remains to be seen, and might not be in the 250,000 mile range of older, simpler, CR-V;s.

This car has bad turbocharged engine 1.5 L Fuel leak to engine oil and smells fuel in the car and Honda corporation do nothing to fix it. Upgrade software not fix this problem. The dealer does not inform people about this problem because the dealer is banned by corporations. It's not funny when it is -20 degrees and you have drive with a child with open window because smells fuel.

Less than a week into ownership, but I like the features. Answering phone on navigation panel is nice. Map Navigation is eady to use and the only thing about it is it lags a second or two when telling you to turn, so be careful or you might drive by your turn as it is saying turn here. Gas mileage, 30 mpg is okay for AWD. They say change the oil every 7500 miles which is better than my other hybrid car There are lots of bells and whistles here on this vehicle, and a lot of them are electrial, so do yourself a favor and buy the electrical warranty. It takes getting uses to some of the features, like the one that keeps you in your own lane, where your steering wheel shakes if you cross the line, but you can turn it off. Heated seats are nice. Radio has speakers all over the place. I have trouble climbing up into trucks and suvs, and I am short, but this has a decent height and I can get in easily without having purchased the steps. It drives smoothly, it breaks smoothly. They give you free floor mats, they are cloth, mine are super dark vray, which match my dark gray interior, but I might get a rubber one to lay on top, as I live in the country on a horse farm and every little dirt speck that sticks to my boots also sticks to the mats, and shows. I wish the radio had a CD player, as I am not all that technically inclined but I am assured no new car comes with CD player now. Too bad. I went in to buy a red CRV, but actually didn't like the red once I saw it in person, it was lava red and looked orangish from a certain angle. I went with gun metal grey which is the dark grey, and it is sparkly and eye catching. I really like it. I have grandkids that travel with me, so I did opt for the exterior and interior armor all coating, and they guarentee no stains or a replacement for 10 years. I would like to retake this survey a year from now when I've had the suv for a while.

I bought a new 2019 Honda CR-V, EX-L on 10/4/2019. My 2015 Mazda CX-5 Touring was totaled in an accident so I needed a new car. I researched several SUVs for ~$30K, I wanted leather seats, Android Auto, good gas mileage and high safety ratings. I whittled down the list to the Mazda CX-5 and Honda CR-V. (What, no Toyota RAV4? Nope, because it doesn't have Android Auto!) Why did I choose the Honda? Simple. It's a big upgrade from the Mazda CX-5. I sat in both, tested both, and the Honda has a LOT more to offer. Android Auto - Android Auto in the Honda is housed in a good looking display in the dashboard. It's very easy to access and use. The USB connection is in the center console where you can stow your phone as you drive. No distracted driving! Backup Camera - The Honda has a backup camera with both a static and dynamic backup overlay. The picture itself is passable and a bit fuzzy. However, there are three views available. A standard backup view, a wide-angle view to see traffic coming sideways, and a tailgate (down) view. Each is accessible with the touch of the screen. If a car is coming towards you while you're backing up, you are alerted immediately. The speedometer, odometer, and other instrument panel items are all visible on another great-looking display behind the steering wheel. I love this! With Waze integration built in, turns are automatically displayed in the instrument panel section. There's no need to glance over to the center display. Gas mileage is on-par with stated estimates. Street driving is ~28, freeway ~34, with an average of 30 miles to the gallon. Past three fill-ups have reflected this with 29.5, 30.7, and 31.2 miles per gallon. (Values based upon amount of gasoline purchased to fill up the tank and the miles traveled since the last fill-up.) There are so many other goodies to list that make driving this SUV so nice! Some of these have been out for a while, but when upgrading from 2015 to 2019, it can spoil you! * Seat memory for two drivers * Cruise Control speed adjust * Economy fuel efficient mode * Brake Assist * Lane keep assist * Lane departure assist * Remote engine start * Tailgate automatic open/close with a button * Garage Door button There are a couple of things that make this not perfect. 1. The auto-dimming rear-view mirror doesn't work well when the back window is tinted. Headlights at night are too bright. 2. No automatic rain sensor for the windshield wipers. (The 2015 Mazda CX-5 had this.) Overall, I love this vehicle! I love driving it. I love the feel of it.

Miss the older design features

I had a 2009 CR-V that was a perfect SUV. Design and comfort features were far better in the 09 version than the 2019. The cargo area was huge and the hard shelf allowed twice as much storage. Why they took that out years ago I'll never know. Much less area for cargo now with that useless soft cover. The seats were also way more comfortable in the 09 and you sat higher similar to sitting in a chair. Now the seat is closer to the base and is uncomfortable on your back. I have only 400 miles on my new CR-V and do not enjoy driving it like the 09. The heater is not as good either and takes forever to warm up. It never gets so warm that you need to turn it down. I do enjoy the ApplePlay but I have to say that's about it. I also miss the space between the two front seats. Update, August, 2019: Still feel the same about the car. It was a huge mistake and bad purchase. The older CR-V felt like a SUV...this car is seems like the designers were undecided. I don't like it at all. Update 2/22/21 - I still do not like it as much as the 2009. I do like the added technology comforts such as being able to open the trunk and Apple Play - note: Apple Play does not work all the time. Update: 08/21/21. Still do not like this car and plan on selling it. I wanted it to be my last car but am looking for something else.

Excellent car for the money

What the title says. I'm very satisfied with my EX-L. Good value for the money. The reason this car gets 4 stars and not 5 is for three reasons: First, engine choices are lacking, second because of a lack of customization among trim levels, and third because of underpowered USB ports in the front seat (this doesn't seem like a big deal on the surface, but read below). The Engine: The 1.5L Turbo is sufficient, but it's significantly noisier and rougher than the '03 Accord EX V6 that I replaced. A fully loaded trunk with my family of 5 driving on hills is going to give this thing a lot of work. Fortunately for Honda, there are no V6 options among the top vehicles in this class and my wife doesn't want to go bigger. If there was, Honda would not have gotten my business (sidenote: the Accord also no longer comes with a V6 and the 2.0T gets 2mpg fewer gas mileage than the '03 Accord V6 did (22 vs 24) at a tradeoff of 30-40 extra hp, another very strange engineering/design decision). Customization among trim levels: Honda doesn't offer customization of major features within trim levels, which can be a bummer. For example, do you want auto-dimming mirrors and 12-way power seats with memory? Well, you can't get that on the EX, you have to go for the EX-L which also gets you leather seats. Don't like leather? Well, too bad. Now you have to pick a concession for an approximately $30k purchase. The models basically come as-is when it comes to the major features. In my case, I had to forego navigation because it's only available on the Touring model, which adds about $3,000 to the price for cosmetic enhancements and a sound system I was ultimately not interested in getting. Had the touring offered a better engine, I probably would have splurged. Fortunately for Honda, the entire industry is moving in this direction because of smartphones, but I tend to make lots of long trips where a built-in GPS that doesn't use all of my phone data and zap my battery would be more useful. Underpowered USB: Android Auto/Apple Whatever requires a wired connection from the car into the micro USB of your phone that can be finicky sometimes, especially if you have an older phone (like me) that has worn down pins in the micro usb connection from plugging it in over the last 4 years and use a protective case. Compounding this, the USB slot for this feature is only 1.5 amps, so you won't get fast-charging and it barely keeps up with a phone that is actively using Google Maps (the other USB slot in the front seat is 1.0A, which is practically useless. I use a $5 charger that plugs into the lighter as the secondary USB for charging the passenger's phone, but the fact that it's 2019 and I have to do this is absurd). The lack of a navigation option on EX models and above seems like a very silly exclusion because the console is exactly the same, and the underpowered USB ports in the front seat leave a lot to be desired. Ultimately, for long trips I'll probably be going back to my Garmin Nuvi that I had from my '03 Accord. Despite these shortcomings (which I reiterate are shared among most vehicles in the class), I'm satisfied with my purchase and the car is overall an excellent value.

Agile and stops well and smoothly. Excellent sound system. In shop twice for vibrations starting at 45 mph. Second time they agreed to balance all 4. That helped but now noticing shakes and shudders that come and go at lower speeds than before. Will continue to visit dealer for that issue.

I bought a 2019 Honda CRV EX about a month ago and could not be happier. I previously leased a 2017 Buick Encore, which was a total piece of crap. The engine block needed to be rebuilt at 10,000 miles due to a cracked piston which was found to be a manufacturer defect. This CRV is much bigger, roomier, handles better, and gets better MPG! I have not experienced the battery drain issues or the oil in gas issue, which was supposed to be taken care of on the 2019 model. I have leased or owned several Hondas and I can say hands down that they are the most reliable cars on the market. I would be wary of some of the reviews on this site as they could have been placed by competitors to smear the excellent Honda name. PROS for this vehicle include MPG, comfortable seats, steady handling without body roll, great options for only 1 trim level up in the EX from the base LX, good sounding stereo, great back seat leg room, low speed cruise control that works in stop/start traffic. CONS=The infotainment system is a little slow to react when switching modes, I wish that it had presets that could take you to any station on AM/FM/or Satellite without having to switch sources. For those of you trying to decide between Honda and Subaru, keep in mind that Subaru has a good mechanical reputation that has not been earned in the real world. Subaru's flat 4 engine is flawed in nature and *will* eventually need head gaskets replaced during the life span of the motor (usually by 100K miles). They have also had several recently quality issues with fuel injector leakage. Update: 2/2020 - still love this SUV. I've had no issues so far and it is still very comfortable. I would recommend to anybody.

Traded down for the CRV LX

I had the 2018 CRVEX with gas in the oil. My personal mechanic said that this would cause slow damage. Crickets sounds came from Honda and the service department when I complained about a whirling noise and the dipstick showing overfill etc. I shopped and shopped for a replacement. I ended up buying a CRVLX. I’m actually really happy I did this. the new CRV LX is great and now I don’t have to worry about being stranded on the side of the road by my old 2018 CRV EX. I do miss the bells and whistle‘s but that’s a good trade for feeling problem free in the 2019 LX.

Beware of low beam headlight compromise

I don't know if this was an attempt for engineering or aesthetic improvement, but my car is dangerous at night because I only have a sliver of light while the headlights are on low beam on a dark road. The remainder of the windshield becomes black. Beware if you live in the country or anywhere without street lights. My dealer verbally acknowledged the defect to me but denied it existed to HMC. I was then advised by HMC that my case is closed because they have a responsibility to support their dealers' decisions. If you are considering buying a 2019 Honda CR-V EX-L, be sure to test drive it outside the city at night. This precaution may save your life or someone else's and will definitely avoid your waste of money and the aggravation of waiting for Honda to do the right thing.

Roominess was my main concern with my older parents accessing the car safely. One parent is 92 and the other 89. Also, I'm 6'2" and I need plenty of head clearance. The final two cars to make for deciding were the Suburau Outback and the Honda Crv. They both had same roominess and same features. The Honda was priced cheaper. So, I went with the Honda and everyone is happy in the car.

What a difference from my 2016 CR-V LX

Wayne, 08/11/2019
2019 Honda CR-V EX 4dr SUV (1.5L 4cyl Turbo CVT)

This car is not even on the same planet as my 2016 CR-V. Extremely smooth and comfortable ride. Granted the wheels on my new 2019 EX are 18 inches (vs. 16 inches on my old LX) and these Bridgestone tires are an upgrade, but still the cars have very little driving resemblance. Turns are composed albeit not sporty. There is some body roll but most CR-V drivers shouldn’t be throwing the vehicle around in the first place. Pavement imperfections are comfortably soaked up but you still have a reassuring feel of the road. The small turbo engine is peppy and smooth without turbo lag. It’s not a rocket but it takes care of business when you need to step on it on the highway. I have no issues with the CVT transmission. The captain’s seat is quite comfortable and supportive with plenty of adjustments, and I’m a big guy...haven’t even played with the 4-way lumbar support. This car is noticeably wider and more spacious than my old LX. I christened my new CR-V with a 4+ hour round trip drive from a PA suburb to Cape May, NJ and it was easy, fun going the entire time. The safety tech is fine and all worked except some occasional misses on lane keeping alerts. Alerts were accurate when I purposely got a little too close maneuvering around other cars on the highway, and this was reassuring. The CarPlay interface with my iPhone is fab. I appreciate the on-board HondaLink and everything was easy to set up. The exterior design on the 2019 was made more aggressive than last years model and it works. Gunmetal grey made an easy choice on color. I simply flipped Honda leases and didn’t do any shopping or test driving comparisons with the Mazda C-5 or Toyota RAV 4. Maybe not as sporty as the Mazda and less tech for the money than the RAV 4. Also some expert reviewers are taking issue with the CVT vs. the Toyota transmission...but I am one happy buyer and Honda just kept me in the family.

Best SUV I've Ever Owned

I bought my CRV EX about one month ago. I traded in a 2012 Jeep Compass that I started having problems with. When I'm in my new CRV I feel like I'm in heaven! There is such a big difference between those two cars. At first I was going to purchase the base level LX but when I heard of all the additional features of the EX Model at such a reasonable price, we had to buy the EX. The dealership was the best experience I've ever had when buying a car. There was no pressure to buy or even upgrade at all. The agent sat with me for a half hour and showed me how to program the auto headlights, sunroof/moonoof, he synced my Bluetooth and my Android Smart phone. I have over 1,000 miles on it now. For me, the dashboard display is very easy to use. The only thing I found a little confusing was how to figure out how to make the car warmer. The manual wasn't very good about explaining it. The gas mileage is excellent. I haven't experienced a dead battery or oil leakage, and I hope that problem was fixed for the 2019 model. I am thrilled with my Honda CRV EX SUV! UPDATE: I have owned the Honda CRV for 1 1/2 years now. I still love my Honda, but Long Island had a major snow storm in December. I previously owned a Jeep 4 wheel drive and it could drive through a mountain of snow with no problem. My Honda CRV got stuck in the snow twice and there was only 5 inches of snow. I love my car in every other way, but I don't feel safe driving when the conditions are 5 inches of snow or more.

Gorgeous vehicle, I chose Obsidian Blue and this will be my third Honda. Pros - roomy, excellent gas mileage, lots of safety features. Cons - the driver’s seat is very uncomfortable - not the lumbar part, but where you actually sit. I did not notice this so much when I test drove it. Now I do and I’ve done everything to make it better. Also, my door locks for some reason are randomly unlocking and locking. Noisier in cabin on highway than I expected (Ridgeline is much quieter). This is a “grown-up” Honda and not quite as zippy or fun as my previous ones.

2019 model. Love this SUV and will never go back! Drives very similar to a car and the steering assist and auto cruise control are excellent features for road trips! Minuses are that the auto lock does not work usually, the infotainment is a bit tricky (but Apple car play is great) and the Gas tank is tiny. 14 gallons. I have had a v-6 for a long time and the 1.5 liter turbo isn’t as good but really not too bad. Wish this came in a V-6. Otherwise, solid 4.5 stars!

This car was purchased for my Mom and she is 80 years young. It took a few driving lessons for her to feel comfortable driving the car because of all the technology. However, after learning to drive the car, she has a twinkle in her eye that I have not seen in quite sometime! She loves the CRV and we actually believe that all the gadgets will help her be a safer driver at her age. She loves the backup camera, the lane assist, and when the car alerts something is behind her. I have gotten more joy out of seeing her enjoyment in owning and driving this CRV!

I bought my first new car 35 yeas ago. We've come a long way. This is my second Honda CR-V LX. I like the simplicity of (and the lower cost) of the LX. It's hard to negotiate on cost with Honda, but Hondas really hold their value. All I really need for my daily commute is hands-free Bluetooth phone, a decent sound system, and good gas mileage. I've been driving this car for a month. I've got my favorite music on a thumb drive and a if I turn up the volume any higher than 15 I think I would develop hearing loss. I'm averaging 30 miles to the gallon with or without ECO setting. The car accelerates smoothly with enough get up to go, and handles and corners beautifully. Easier to park than my old Honda. Unlike some reviews for this car, I am not having any battery, starting, electrical, or software issues. Minor points: could use a little storage and rear visibility for me sometimes a little problematic.

As the previous owner of 3 Honda Civics, I recently purchased a CRV. I am impressed with the roomy interior and am looking forward to great fuel economy (not far from my Civic MPG!) plus road handling in winter weather. I bought the base model for its simplistic gauges and controls as well as the price. I feel that I paid a fair price and expect the value to hold up. The only trade off I have noticed so far is a little extra road noise, the base model isn't insulated as well as the next levels.

I had a 2017 CR-V EX-L Navi and replaced it with a 2019 EX-L. I loved the 2017. Everything worked. No issues, however the lease was up. I expected the 2019 to be the same, however the electronics have been messed with too much and they are now terrible. What's wrong? Well, the Infotainment display locks up and needs rebooted relatively frequently. The way Honda changed the safety features, now I can't use ACC without having the Lane Assist - which is terrible around here. Even things like the Homelink and the outside temp reading are wildly undependable. Three days ago it was 92 degrees but the CR-V insisted it was 75. There are tons of little issues like this. Sometimes the walk away lock works. Sometimes it doesn't. Honda turned a great vehicle into an average at best vehicle. For me, this is the last one I'll own and I regret getting this one.

Car had been rained in 3 times, very dark at night when I leave work to go to my car and windows are rolled down. I am afraid for my safety and date to vehicle. I am not holding keys in pocket, My keys are nowhere near me. dealer says I shouldn't keep keys in purse?? Where an I supposed to keep them? I carry a wristlet so that doesn't apply to me. I am afraid to keep anything in the car. I truly am sorry I purchased this car. They didn't even do an oil change before I purchased the car. I bought it with 1,700 miles on 2019 CR-V LX AWD...very unhappy customer. Unsafe

Car was great when it was working until it got a really minor hit Which required the SRS diagnostic unit to be replaced only to find out it is simply not available in the market. The car have been sitting in the shop for about 3 months now waiting for the non existing parts with empty promises for delivery dates that keeps being pushed forward week after week. Honda is failing customers. I am now stock with a 30k car that I can not use or fix.

I bought my c r v new last November, it has only done 2000 kms. Last week as I was slowly parking the car between two cars the engine suddenly accerated, hitting the car in front of me.My car has substantial damage, anyone else had this experience

The interior dome lights did not work. The diagnoses was the Body Control Module needed to be replaced and the keys reprogrammed. This was on a new car purchased from the dealers lot.

If you look at the SUV'S being offered you find that they are high priced and devoid of all the tech available on the CRV above the LX model! We are on our third CRV and will be leasing a forth in the next two months. The new EX I just leased is far and away the best SUV we have ever had, as we have had a few! Interior is great, seats are comfortable but the passenger seat is a little low. Meaning close to the floor. The dash is incredible, it looks like the cockpit of a fighter jet. The sound system is awesome and the controls are easy to find and operate. The touch screen is large and the menus are intuitive. The brake hold feature is a fabulous idea! Wait till you use it!! We took an eighty mile trip last week and the cruise control is a lifesaver. Modulating speed and distance from the car in front of you effortlessly. The blind spot monitors are a worthwhile feature that should be on all cars. All in all just get a CRV and don't waste time looking for something that doesn't exist!!!

Honda SUV ex l

2019 is the worst design ever. This is my 3rd Honda SUV. Air vents bad location. Middle console gets in the way Drivers seat ergo not proper makes driver sit cockeyed and back is twisted. Pedals to far to right and left side of driver search to much space and left leg cant properly be positioned. So much space on left of driver seat throws visual view off when turning corners or trying to park car. Worst experience ever. I would like to know who designed car! In addition, agree with other viewers. Cargo space with the soft shelf is a waste and took away useful space. Honda cut costs shotty carpet unravelling in SUV exl. Upfront space is non existent ..middle console is awkward and useless. Settings for features do not hold for cruise control, radio. And seating it is a constant fight resetting controls.
