electrical and electronic problems !
after a year of info screen flashings even when not in use, now the dealer had to replace the battery which died! they say the battery was defective, but there is something very wrong with the cr-v that the service people are unfazed when they hear of these continuing electronic problems. honda should recall the cr-v and fix it! the info screen is very distracting when it starts flashing and having your new car battery die during a trip is very costly - the car is not safe to be on the road! we are already looking to purchase another car - not a honda,

noise in the rear of the car
Purchased a 2019 CRV Touring Jan 19,, 2019, the car is kept in garage, makes a noise coming the rear, car has been in the shop 3 times, and of course will not make it while there. The car will make this noise for 30 minutes to 1 hour, there are stating this is normal. I asked should this do this every day and if so would this not damage the battery, and to stop this noise I have to start car. There is nothing in the manual and should I have been told about this before purchasing vehicle. I find it hard to believe that I am the only person having this issue. I would just like to talk to someone who knows what is going on.
So happy with my new Honda CR-V!
I did a lot of research when I wanted to get an SUV and found that the Honda CR-V was the best and safest on the market. I test drove it and loved the style, feel, and comfort, as well as all the safety features. I got a great deal on a brand new 2019 SUV. The gas mileage using the green feature is amazing! It is very comfortable to drive and the features are easy to use. I love it!

My new 2019 Honda CR-V
Only have 300 miles on my CR-V but as a 43 year veteran of the Automobile Industry I am very impressed! Great value and expertly applied technology from a retired automotive electronics engineer that should know. I even traded in a BMW 335 to get my new CR-V.

Glad we bought it
We closely compared the 2019 RAV4 and the CRV. The Honda won by a hair. Easier to get in and out, and a little more comfortable. UPDATE: After one year and several long trips we still really love this car. While it looks smallish from the outside, the car is truly roomy throughout. We’re both larger than average and still the passenger area seems large. People always compliment the legroom of the back seat. And plenty of room in the cargo area. No mechanical problems to date. Highly recommend this car.

SUV almost as economical as a Civic!
It doesn't have a CD player, other than that, it's perfect! Great safety features! Comfort-perfect! Visability-great! Leg & head room-front & back-great for adults, or 3-in-a-row car seats!

Reliable car, but.
Infotainment System is very slow including the Linkage to the IPhone. Navigation system is behind the times. Use Waze instead. Some what reliable Suv otherwise. While having AWD, got stuck in snow. That was disappointing. Suggest that Honda update CRV traction control to something similar to the Honda Passport and Pilot with dial for various weather conditions. It just may be the CRV is too light for driving in snow. Also, Honda customer service needs to be more consistent. Took CRV in for a recall on the shifter knob, with little explanation from Honda or Dealership on what exactly the problem & solution was, so I gave the dealership a mediocre review. Got a call from the service department “don’t come back to this dealership.” I contacted Honda USA for help, and they said “we hope you have better success with your next dealership.” While Honda’s can be reliable autos, dealerships seem to be inconsistent.

A beautiful car at a reasonable price
We test drove a Touring model and since it is priced some $2,400 less than a comparable Toyota RAV4 which does not offer a leather interior, we decided to place an order. After checking with the five closest Honda dealers, we found that they all charge a $799 dealer fee and the closest dealer additionally charges $200 for an "electronic filing fee". In view of that, we decided to order a RAV4 from a dealer that offers a competitive price, a $12 electronic filing fee, no dealer fees or other gimmicks such as pin stripes, nitrogen in the tires, etc. We have purchased four new cars previously from this dealer and currently have a five year old RAV4 which has been trouble free; it is going to our grandson who is in college. Really liked the Honda but the Toyota came in a close second and when the dust settles, it may cost us $1,000 more but we will have to deal with a lot less b.s. associated with the sales process.

Nice but Seats very uncomfortable
Nice car but I cant stand the seats. Driver seat very uncomfortable on long rides, my back seat riders all complained and need to stop often because seats uncomfortable. Car is not quite on hwy. Driving around town its fine, but on hwy it is too noisy. I will not buy another Honda after this experience.

CRV ‘R For Life
This is my second CRV and I couldn’t be any happier. Going from a 2013 to a 2019, I couldn’t have made a better choice. The safety upgrades and driver convenience features are incomparable. 9 more inches of cargo space, a remote smart included, and a power life tailgate, are just some of the new features I was overjoyed to find. Bottom line: I have zero regrets with my new CRV and highly recommend it to anyone.
Honda rarely does recalls probably because...
They don't have the parts, but that's only the most recent problem. I bought a 2019 CRV new, and I'm not going back to Honda. Small things have been problematic from the start, such as bizarre glitches with the navigation/screen/radio. They did an update which fixed some of the problems but not all. The auto sense braking sensitivity can be adjusted but if there is any reflection or it detects something, it jams on the breaks so hard, it has hurt my neck and back as I already had neck and back issues. That's bad enough. The alarm sounds sporadically when the auto lock doesn't work. Now about the recall. Honda rarely does recalls probably to save face. I got a letter that the fuel pump is recalled, made an appointment, took the car in and was told....the part is on back order, you'll have to leave your car indefinitely but here's a loaner. Wonder if I can indefinitely suspend payments?

My new best friend
I have been driving Honda cars since 1994. Since 2010, leasing works for me so I get a new Honda every 3 years or less. I have driven the accord from 1994-2015. Then I went with the Civic getting the 2017 EXL. Finally I got a leftover 2019 CRV EXL in April 2020. Every Honda got better than the previous one. My 2017 civic was as big as my first accord in 1994. The civic was amazing and fun to drive. Then the SUV popularity caught up with me and I am absolutely driving the best Honda I've ever had. The 2019 CRV EXL has every bell and whistle I've ever had and enjoyed. No problems with the battery, oil and gas issue, or any problem whatsoever. If I have one suggestion, it is that to open the roomy glove compartment from the driver's seat is having to really stretch. I wish that the handle to open it was towards the left of the glove compartment and not in the center. Of course, I don't need to open the glove compartment often and hope that due to the wonderful turbo charged engine, won't need to open the glove compartment praying I won't be stopped for speeding. I love my Honda CRV. My 2019 Honda CRV is still the best Honda vehicle I've ever owned and leased after driving it 2 years. It's simply the best! 1n 2022 and over 30000 miles, it's still the best Honda I've ever driven. I had been leasing my Honda CRV and decided to buy out the lease in 2023 since 4 years later, it's still the best Honda I've ever driven which I've been driving Hondas since 1994. I love my 2019 Honda CRV.

Not as good as i though it would be
I bought a 2019 CRV touring, I have 18,000 miles on it and my tires are almost junk! Never thought I would have to change my tires and not even get 20,000 miles on them. And I did rotation like I was supposed to. Also came out of a church for a wedding and my battery was dead and the car is practically brand new very embarrassing and I heard I’m not the only one with the same problem definitely would not recommend a CRV to anybody. Every time it snows or rains the front of the computer system shows the visibility is poor then why put it there???

New Lease of Honda CR-V EX 4WD
I cannot address any long term issues. I've had the car for less than one week. However, I can say that when I made my decision to lease this vehicle I wanted the most modern technology and safety features in a reasonably roomy but smaller SUV and I am happy with everything so far. The technology is impressive. The displays at the steering wheel and in the center dash are both modern and high quality. I use AndroidAuto and I love the integration of my phone's music options and Waze, my preferred GPS. The EX comes with most of the safety features offered by Honda in the top two models. The bottom model, the LX, does not include many of these features or the 1.5L Turbo engine. The EX is far superior in my view. It is satisfactory in handling, pickup, steering and braking, but this is not a sports car. The Mazda CX-5 handles better, but I felt that it had less room for passengers and a less impressive set of technology features. I also looked at the Toyota RAV4 and the Jeep Compass and Grand Cherokee models, but they all seemed a few steps behind in dashboard/display design and technology. I also felt that they offered less room for rear passengers. There are great lease deals on most of these cars right now, but beware of the fact that many of these deals are for 2018 models and some dealers don't actually have any in inventory. Some of the deals only apply to the bottom trim model, and in the case of the Honda, you probably don't want that (the LX.) My EX ended up at a good lease price but not as low as the heavily promoted lesser model. Still, I am quite happy. I only drive about 6-7k per year, so I benefitted from a 10k lease instead of the more expensive 12k or 15k leases.

Very happy with my 2nd CRV
I love my CRV! The ONLY thing that I liked better in my 2014 CRV than in my new 2019 CRV is the acceleration. The 2014 model was more 'zippy' - seems to take a bit longer for my new one to get moving quickly - granted, I am prone to jack-rabbit starts.

Classy but sporty... like me!
I love my CRV EXL. I appreciate that a lot of great options were standard on it, unlike some competitors. It is easy to drive and comfortable. A plus is that it looks great too... classy and sporty without being too rugged looking. I’m not mudding in it. I got a great price and felt like the dealership really cared about me. Great car buying experience!

Was hoping for a bit more from Honda
Writing after a test drive. My main complaint is the CVT transmission simply lagged too much. It's a decent vehicle but the pricing is more than many competitors with the options given. I liked the amount of cargo space and leg room but was quite disappointed in the infotainment center. It seemed less user friendly than I had hoped for. I used to own a Civic, I had high expectations. Unfortunately they weren't met.

Important information
My 2019 CRV is 3 months old. We just had our first snow and all the driver assist systems went out (lane departure warning, side view mirror warning lights, anti-skid feature, etc.). Went to dealer today and was told that when there is snow on the car, it blocks the sensors for the driver assist system! He said it will go off by itself after snow is cleared. I had no idea about this so I wanted to alert others.

Honda just can’t imitate Toyota
I have been driving Honda for 15 years, gone through 5 different models and this is second CRV after years of absence. I didn’t want Honda again but stuck on lease scheme I couldn’t leave the brand. Driving experience - this is where CRV with turbo really shines. Getting on highway lamp to catch up the highway traffic flow (in Florida) is easy and dynamic. I drove Civic with turbo, I get very similar feeling from this fat CRV. MPG is constant at 32.5 on my commute, excellent for small CUV. I was worried about the oil issue (just got a class action letter which only covers up to 18 model), so far no issue. Features - I have EXL and supposedly second from the top trim...well it’s sad I have to go that high level to get some basic features other brand offer at more base line. And just like many Japanese brand, this CUV beeps a lot. Safety- my EXL comes with many safety features which helps lower my insurance. Theft- this generation of CRV is very popular amongst car thieves. My county posted warning for CRV driver to go buy a manual lock or install kill switch. Styling- CRV is a plain ugly CUV. There’s nothing attractive about the design. And color choices are pure evil bad. Overall satisfaction- if you think you are getting a deal, need a CUV, then get a CRV. I tested against CX5 (nicer interior and style but poor MPG & storage), Forrester (slower than my grandmas tractor...and no incentive), Cherokee (fun to drive but questionable quality ), Outlander (great price but deadbeat / dead dealers)....choice was simple for me.

Honda CRV EXL
I have owned my 2019 Honda CRV for almost 2 months. It did take some time to navigate the dashboard area. Still dont know how to use android auto. The dealer requested me to bring my suv in for a fluid inspection which I have never heard of. Also the emergency brake light keeps going on. If you have your tires rotated or needs air you have to recalibrate the tires. It is not difficult to do, however if you forget the tires could get screwed up. I dont like to take it to the dealer for service, oil changes at Honda are $40 plus. I can get oil changes done at half the price. This is at most dealers not only Honda!!

Autodom's Ugliest Tail lights
Despite seeing ugly tail lights in the mirrors, I love my CRV, EXL Navi. At 26,000 miles, the average mpg is 34.6, awesome considering we make full use of all that cargo volume. Love the safety features, agree that the touch screen is moody, but, we live with it. Very good vehicle

Love my Honda!
Been buying Honda's for over 30 yrs. Very reliable.
Disappointed
Expected so much more from Honda. The paint is so unbelievably soft the slightest touch will chip the paint. Brought it in for unexpected warranty repairs twice with only 20k miles. The infotainment is so frustrating and not easy for everyday use. The collision mitigation is way too sensitive. The cruise control is abrupt and jerky. Not what I was expecting at all buying the #1 rated SUV in its class. This definitely detracts from possible future purchases from Honda.

Great car -- horrible dealer experience
The vehicle is great, but going through the dealership experience was horrendous! It took 4 HOURS even though I was paying cash, no trade-in, no test drive and a written quote in my hand. The entire time was spent trying to up-sell and raise the price, and they would absolutely NOT finish the paperwork or let me leave before then.

Great car
This is 2cd HONDA CRV we have owned. The EX model has every option we would want as standard equipment. The 2019 has remote start as standard equipment along with many new safety features. We are very happy with the car. I am amazed at the performance of a 92 cu in engine. The turbo increases horsepower and is more than adequate for normal driving.

Disappointed....
We purchase our CR-V Touring less than a month ago and now have approximately 1800 miles on it. We have been doing mostly highway and WV mountain driving. My disappoinments: 1. Cruise Control. Works great for everything except going down hills. It is like it falls to sleep. For our previous vehicles, the CC held the speed going down hills. 2. Front driver’s seat is very uncomfortable. 3. Visibility is very limited in certain cases. 4. I wish the blind spot indicator was more visible. Maybe these are nuisances that I will get use to...

My 5th CR-V-best ever. Love this car
I love CR-V’s. My 5th lease since 2008. Very high residual makes this car a no brainer. Incredibly reliable. Buy the EX. Incredible value. Cavernous interior. Comfortable. Love the Apple CarPlay integration, big screen, and all the advanced safety technology. Has more tech than my neighbors 2 year older 75k Range Rover.

My third CR-V
This is the best of my 3 CR-Vs. It handles much better than the others (2003 and 2015), less road noise and a better ride. No wind noise until you exceed 75 mph when a little creeps in. Drivers seat is perfect for my grumpy back and I have no trouble getting in or out, something I can't say about many other cars. Engine noise quiet when cruising but noisier than the 2015 under mid/moderate acceleration. Still not objectional. Controls are fine, logical and none are hidden behind interior features. Very good interior storage, big glove box. Overall a very nice car and a great value. Although I have had it for only a week it has made a great impression on me. Too soon the address fuel economy, maintenance costs, reliability.

Great Buy Great Price
We love this vehicle. We owned a Civic before this, and as good as the Civic is this is far better. The vehicle is designed well, and is a god deal for the money when compared to the competition. The touring model gives you all the features without having to add package this or that. We’ve only had the car for 5hree weeks, so maintenance costs are unknown. If you’re looking for a good family vehicle, or if it’s just the two of you like us, this will check all the boxes.

Not What I Had Hoped
We purchased a Honda CR-V EX-L because of the passenger room and the experience of other Honda owners we know all of whom speak highly of the car. Overall I would say it does the job but does not stand out in any way. The 1.5 litre turbo is adequate in terms of acceleration as long as it isn’t in eco mode. While mileage may improve when using it, it really is unresponsive when accelerating in eco mode. The cabin is also much slower to heat up than our Ford Escape which in a Minnesota winter is a consideration. I also find the controls less than intuitive. However as I spend more time behind the wheel I’m sure I’ll become more comfortable with them. However, I initially spent too much time trying to find and figure out the right button to push and wondering which button did what. The Honda manual is not as clear as it could be to someone such as me who is new to Honda. Net, net; The car is adequate for our purposes but as of today, I think I would have been happier with a Ford Escape.
New New
I purchased my 2019 Honda CRV ex-l in October and i love it! It is a very reliable car that is wonderful on gas mileage, especially if you are traveling a distance.

Still Think This CR-V Was A Good Buy But....
The only problem we've had in the 22 months we've owned this vehicle is a dead battery a couple of times. We did find, from reading other CRV owner's posts that ours is not an unique problem. That a battery drain may be more likely during the pandemic when cars were not driven as often and there are a lot of features that use batteries these days. We've not had the battery problem for some weeks now but we make sure we drive the vehicle at least five or more miles every week. Other than that we enjoy driving the vehicle - in town and in the country, on both paved and gravel roads. It is responsive in terms of acceleration, is comfortable, gets around 30 mpg, safety features are appreciated, has decent road feel, plenty of window and looks good. But recently, on a 300 mile round trip we experienced the wild Infotainment System malfunction that was so disconcerting my wife had to pull off the road. So, at the 8,000 mile mark we've experienced battery and Infotainment problems and that's not good.

Wouldn't purchase again
I expected better. I did the research before buying a new 2019 CRV-EX in August 2019. It is my first Honda ever. I've always purchased Toyotas and really didn't need to sell my 15 year old Camry but I was ready for an SUV. The remote starter in the CRV is anemic at best and starts from no more than 50 feet away, when it starts at all. If I had known this when I bought the car, that alone would have caused me to not buy it. The comments about electronics that others have mentioned are also problems with my CRV, as are the inconsistencies mentioned. The auto feature for bright lights dim when it's dark and brighten when traffic approaches. The radar obstruction warning and the auto collision warning have spontaneously appeared at least once in the six months I've owned the car, for no reasons. Doors lock when the car gets up to speed, not always. The heated seats go on for the passenger but not for the driver. The walk away locking feature doesn't always work. When we're parked, cars passing on the road set off the warning beep. The lights switch and symbols showing that lights are on also aren't straightforward. I'm prone to often thinking it's user-error, but I'm convinced after using the manual that it's not me. As for the manual, it's a watered down version of what it should be. I'm taking the vehicle in for an oil change next week and hope the inconsistencies can be corrected so I can get past the disappointment of my first Honda being a dud.

As expected
I don’t love the styling put I don’t hate it. We have 2019 with 55,000 km and zero problems: no oil dilution or some of the other problems experienced with previous year models of same generation. Fuel economy is excellent, space is excellent, we have leather seats and find them comfy. It’s hard for me to get excited about a vehicle but CRV delivers on all the buying points. We also considered a cheaper competitor but after factoring the savings on fuel CRV was a no brainer. We pile on the km though so that might not be a factor for most people.

major technical/electrical issues
Great car and gas milage--but technical/electrical issues are troublesome. Dash lights went out one hight while driving-auto delay door locking system does not work despite dealer's best efforts, electric tailgate works about 80% of the time, auto door locks are not dependable (open/lock), touch screen radio continues to be an issue, tps system is an issue-Honda is 10 years behind their competition on this--the tps system does not show which tire(s) are low on pressure. Really time consuming to check each tire, including spare to find the low pressure tire. Competitors tps systems indicate which tire is low. Such systems were available on other makes as early as 2003. We have owned many, many, Hondas since 1976 (Accord). The last Quality Honda we owned was 2013 (Accord). Their quality seems to be a major issue now. Sadly we will consider other makes when we trade after being loyal customers since 1976. Advice--Do your home work before buying any make of vehicle--Honda is not the only make having electrical/tech issues.

Car is great...new Bridgestone tires, not so much
This is a criticism of Honda Corporation (and Bridgestone tires). I purchased a 2019 CRV-EX at Lia Honda (Northampton MA) in May 2019. The buying experience was fine. The vehicle is comfortable and mechanically sound. I expect it to last. The problem is with the tires — the Bridgestones that Honda installs on CRVs as original equipment. On my 15K oil-change/checkup, my new Honda dealer (I moved to New Hampshire) noted tire wear and to keep an eye on it. This after the recommended rotation and 12 months of normal driving. Then, in August of 2020, the tires failed NH inspection -- meaning I was out $800+ for a new set of four AWD treads. The inspection station recommended that I get in touch with Honda as the tires had only 20K on them and this was obviously unacceptable for new OEM tires -- check the warranty. So I called Lia, spoke with my sales rep, explained the problem, and he said he would get in touch with his service dept and get back to me (he never did; obviously either he or Lia does not care). Meanwhile, I researched the warranty situation and learned that the Bridgestone tires are under separate manufacturer warranty. I received no warranty certificate at purchase time so I had to go onto the Honda Customer website and after a few clicks found the Bridgestone OEM "limited" tire warranty and found that the "warranty" basically covers nothing -- not even premature wear and tear. Bottom line: Honda is installing inferior Bridgestone tires on expensive new vehicles, likely a cost-saving measure of some sort -- and leaves consumers holding the bag. Browsing web reviews (Honda and Bridgestone) revealed scores of consumers who encountered the same situation -- not just with Hondas, but Toyotas, too; some had experienced blowouts and none were able to secure replacement tires against the "warranty." Before you purchase a Honda, ASK about the tire warranty. I certainly will not purchase Bridgestone tires EVER, and am wary about purchasing another Honda if new tires are not warranteed. Maybe if enough consumers raise a stink, Honda will cease this practice -- or at least alert potential buyers up front (fat chance).
Fantastic Crv, Handles Winter conditions real well
Bought this 2019 Honda Crv Touring Awd in february 2019 in the tan color (gets dirty alot less), Traded my 2017 Honda Crv touring Awd with 38000 miles blue. So far only one issue with the infotainment system going on a glich but after Honda rebooted the system, having had any issues. Last september 2019, I drove to Bozeman montana for 5 weeks while working up there, it handled well on the snow paved roads and -14 degree weather. Then one weekend I drove it to Yellowstone National park and Cooke city, where we got hit with like 8-9 inches of snow and I was impressed on how well the Awd handled in the snow while driving through Yellowstone to see the animals. Then after the 5 weeks of being in Bozeman I drove it to Kyle South Dakota for work (8 weeks), where it snowed every other day and the temperature was between the 20's-30's and I had no issues. I've been buying Hondas for years from civic hb to civic sedans to Honda accord sedans. Knock on wood, I haven't had any major problems. Love the Honda Crv touring awd for most of its bells and whistles, Definitely the Led headlights, seat warmers, awd, leg room, turbo and stereo.

My first Honda CR-V 2019
I did my research on line for several weeks and finally decided on buying the Honda CR-V EX AWD instead of the Toyota RAV or the Subaru Forster after driving all. The buying process was great. I traded in my 2017 Toyota Camry SE and got better than the highest Price estimate for the Toyota and the lowest price estimate on my new Honda per Edmunds. A better deal than Edmunds suggested. Sorry Edmunds. I must admit I only have driven the car 300 miles but my expectations were met and presently I have no complaints about the vehicle. My wife loves it too. The vehicle is still meeting all my expectations and I still believe it is an excellent buy. There is a recall on this vehicle and I was personally called by the dealer to set up an appointment for taking care of it instead of me calling them. This was a pleasant surprise.

NO 360" Camera and Not Available
I'm Not sure why this SUV keeps getting rated as the top small SUV. Options that you can get as standard on lower trim levels as standard features you have to move up to the highest trim, the Touring and then pick a special trim package to get. The LED headlights. When you move up you do get some additional features (rain sensing wipers, HD radio, and special wheels, ) all to get headlights for safety that other Makes include at a lower trim/ lower cost. Plus the CRV says there is a heated steering wheel as an option, but no vehicles in my area or anywhere near had that on a vehicle. And I live in a cold climate. My dealer where I test drove said they could install at the dealership, but I was skeptical as to look etc. Another option that I wanted but could have gone without is a panoramic moonroof. Not available at all. CRV like other Makes has the Blind spot warning in the side mirrors which is very hard to see on a sunny day. Other makes keeps the warning inside on the front "post" (between the windshield and front windows- so much easier to see. Then lets go to the other safety feature I mention above- the 360' camera- this is not available at all. Not on the highest trim, the Touring, not an option, not al all. This is a great feature on a car/SUV if you can find it. You can not only see behind you, but front and side. I like to see the side, in case there is a child or dog, or trike etc there. I also use it frequently to see how well I am parked in parking spots- am I crooked or not. I really would have missed this if my new SUV didn't have it. AND I feel it is truly a safety feature. I also thought the memory seat feature of the CRV was lacking. As I am only 5 feet tall and my husband is almost a full foot taller than me, our seat and MIRROR settings are very different. The memory seat function is a God-send. BUT it should include the mirrors. CRV doesn't as other Makes do include the mirrors.

My CRV; Make Oil
We are experiencing oil dilution, which means unburned fuel is entering the oil system. This is not a good thing. Car tends to wander as if I'm on a severely crowned road, when I'm not.
Tin Can
Cheap. Paint chips constantly. Seats are hard and uncomfortable. Weak acceleration. The older CRV models were far better (2014 and older). We dumped it for a certified Lexus RX and it was the best decision we ever made. Not sure why Edmunds reviewers are obsessed with this tin can.
