CRV finally won me over

In years past, when ever I checked out the CRV, it lost to the Subaru Outback in many areas. However, the 2017 CRV Touring AWD made me switch. At first, I was skeptical of even giving it the once-over, considering the "small" 1.5L turbo engine. I was more than a bit surprised at the excellent performance of this engine, whether on the interstate or traversing the mountains of Vermont. This engine is terrific and you will not want for power. The CRV drives well and is comfortable. My steep off road test seemed to be on par with the symetrical all wheel dirve Subaru, which also surprised me - but winter will be the final test. My gas mileage is about 30 around town and around 33 on the highway. The CRV also seems quieter than my Outback. I had a couple of interesting options installed on my Touring CRV - the sport bumpers and the large body side mouldings. These options give the CRV a much more muscular look. My only real complaint is the itsy-bitsy gas tank - it could use another 4 gallons. Jeepers, Honda ... can't you find a spot for another four gallons? I guess I should also mention the funky two-tier storage arrangement behind the rear seat - what is up with that? I guess it is because of the design of the rear seat - when it folds down, it was at a different elevation (higher) that the storage area, so Honda made it so you could raise the storage floor to be at the same elevation as the folded seat. Update: The intermittent wiper operation has proven to be annoying ... instead of using a strictly time-based wiper delay, the Honda uses a moisture sensor, which is unreliable. Apparently, the wiper is supposed to cycle (on/off/speed) based upon how much moisture is detected on the windshield. Well, sometimes the wiper will not cycle even though the windshield is plastered with rain, while at other times the wiper will shift into high speed when there is almost no water on the windshield - a classic case of "regression thru technology". Bring back the old reliable time-based system!

We purchased our Honda CRV based on positive consumer reviews that we found on Edmunds. Our new SUV is so easy and safe to drive. You will not be disappointed with this vehicle. The only negative that we have found so far is the fuel economy. Honda lists 28 mpg city and 34 mpg highway, but we have been getting only 26 mpg combined city/highway.

Extremely Uncomfortable

I loved everything about this car during the test drive. The interior and exterior are amazing. The tech is the best in class and it seemed overall great. Then I took it home and my opinion changed. I tried every seating position and even used cushions, but could not get comfortable. Even worse than that, after 15 minutes in the car my entire foot and leg started to go numb. I made myself take it for a long drive and by the time I got to my destination my entire foot and leg ere completely numb. It took a while to get the feeling completely back and then the pain took over. I was limping the entire next day. So on the way back I tried cushions and other positions and nothing changed. The seats press on my static nerve and cause all of this to happen. I recommend this car for all of its features, but do not recommend it for comfort. If comfort is important to you look at different cars like the Subaru Forester or Mazda CX-5. I will be selling this back to the dealer for a big loss because I refuse to keep a car that will hurt me. Just beware before buying.

Mold and Rust under the car

Millie, 05/18/2017

I purchased a Honda CRV 2017 Touring January 2017 and I noticed the long tube that connects to both muffler is rusting and molding. I went back to my dealer Paragon Honda in Queens , NY and I was told that it's a manufacturer problem and that is how is made. I am furious because I paid 38,000.00 for my vehicle and they told me there is nothing I can do. I guess I am going to present this case to my lawyer and see what I can do .
